MeFOTO RoadTrip Aluminum Travel Tripod Kit (Blue)

As advertised for a change
For a light tripod, was very stable. Purchased for travel purposes and am delighted with the product.

Great product
Not as tough-looking as I was expecting, especially the camera mount. The mount requires a tool to tighten fully (included) which was disappointing. As someone who carts their gear deep into the backcountry, it's annoying to carry an extra item. Aside from that, the tripod held steady for multi-second exposures in the wind, partially extended on mountain summits, with a D7000 and 12-24 f/4. It is quite light, folds up nicely, and the included carry case seems well-built.

I would recommend this to a friend
Used this to photograph scenes along Lake Superior, as well as, on some interior hiking trails. I liked the fact that it's lightweight, easy to set up/fold up and the versatility of the product.

Would recommend to a friend.
Took it hiking along Lake Superior & through the various parks in the area. The tripod is lightweight, easy to setup/fold up & converts fairly easily into a monopod. Very happy with this product.

Great Tripod!
I was not use to a tripod that is of this grade. My last tripod came from a big chain store several years ago. It was cheap and I got what I paid for. I chose this tripod because of the reviews and the blue color of course. I got it out of the case and was very impressed by how small it folded up. I am 5'7 and this tripod is more than tall enough for me. The whole thing is super sturdy. Very simple to use and I got use to letting the legs out qui... Show More

Phenomenal
Beautiful construction and solid. Easily handles a dslr with a big lens. Converts to a mono pod which is handy at times. It comes with a quite nice carry case.

Good Tripod
Only reason we don not give it five stars is it is heavier than expected. Other than that it is a great piece of equipment.

Great quality, nice overall package.
I am an amateur, use it for sports mainly. The Tripod is very solid. A little on the bulky side when folded up, but is not very long. The ballhead is outstanding, smooth. I LOVE the monopod, requires a little assembly but a quality monpod when put together. I use the Monopod 90% of the time. The red color is awesome, separates it from other tripods. Twist legs are good for twist legs, but still not optimum to me. Highly recommend this tripod for this price range. 5 stars for bang for the buck.

Versitile Tripod
I recently ordered this tripod for a wedding. The capability to convert to a monopod when we went from ceremony to reception and light to darkness was a life saver. We recommend this product. Had ordered the wrong one (mini-one) and B&H took care of it immediately!

Excellent Value
Bought the Mephoto Roadtrip tripod, tucked it in my bag and headed for Paris. It is light weight and will support my Canon 5D with lens. The photos I got at night of the Eiffel tower are worth the price of the tripod.

Solid and Small
I really enjoy this tripod. Great quality, the head is solid, and overall it feels like it will hold my D600 with any lens I put on it. It is terrifically small but isn't quite as light as I expected...but still, is very light.

Sturdy, compact, and light
Pros: - Light and sturdy. - Very compact. - Comes with a carrying case and a packet of metal spikes for the bottom of the legs. They can switched out easily for outdoor use where you may need the tripod to grip the ground. - Well built. Everything is modular and can be twisted off and replaced. - Comes with tools for tightening the tripod. - Has a hook for bags hanging weights for making tripod more stable. - Converts to a monopod. Cons: - I'm no... Show More

Most Recommended Travel Tripod
Extremely portable. Lest section of legs is a little thin for my taste, but they are quite durable. The orange is a rockin' color. Not that it makes any difference. The turning mechanism for the legs is quite easy to get use to, unlike what other reviewers said. The included case is a really nice one. I don't use a tripod often, but at least I won't have to decide if I'm going to take one. It is so small it fits quite nicely in larger bags. It is possible to squeeze this into a backpack, but it is an extremely tight fit. Overall.. fantastic.

Great Buy & Quality
Very nice quality, nothing better than the price. Light weight, great build quality. Very nice padded bag to take it with you. It will hold a Nikon D800 with a 70-200mm lens, in high winds, and not fall over.

Excellent value!
If you are an entry level photographer, on a budget, this is the professional tripod for you. It's light, sturdy, and folds up into a very small size. It's light enough to easily carry but sturdy enough to guarantee a steady shot. If it's a little bit windy it has a hook on the center column to add weight for steadines. I usually carry some string with me and just attach my camera backpack to it so I can carry as little as possible. It works grea... Show More

Just what I needed
This tripod is light weight and beautifully built. I have used it several times since I've purchased it, including having it stand in water, and it works as advertised. It is a little cumbersome to put up and take down, but I think experience with it will streamline that aspect. I wish that legs had more than one fold-out position, but you can't have everything. The fact that it converts to a mono-pod is a big plus. I'm amazed at how tall it exte... Show More

Solid Bargain
I use this when backpacking with my G15 camera. Rock steady, easy to setup as a tripod. Things get a little clumsy when trying to shift from tripod to monopod (helps to have an assistant to hold the bits as they come apart). Love the monopod feature - one less thing to carry, and provides stability for me when walking.Wondering how hard it is going to be to replace the rubber feet?

Good travel tripod
I bought this as a small, lightweight tripod for when it wasn't practical to take my big tripod. I definitely find myself just throwing it in the car when I wouldn't bother with my full size tripod. So far, I've just done some 2-4 second long exposures. I kept the tripod as short as possible to avoid any stability issues (although with my OM-D, I doubt it would have been a problem even at full height). The only negative I have right now is that y... Stable
I just got this a few days ago, but there doesn't seem to be unreasonable creep with the ball head based on my test (D200 w/ 35mm 1.8f on tripod at an angle for 2 hours) and trying to force a creep with brute force; just stay within the max weight specifications. The tripod is heavier than I thought it'd be, but I only had a cheap $10 made-in-china tripod to compare with. The tripod head is somewhat confusing initially though since there's three ... Show More

Great for Road Warriors
I would give this 5 stars, but it is heavier than I expected. It does fold up neatly into a short bundle, but over long distances is still not as light as I would like. However, it is sturdy and has a monopod.

Terrific travel tripod
I needed a moderately light tripod when I travel by air, train or just hike. This tripod fits the bill. I've only used it a few times but it seems to be able to handle my Canon 7d with my 70-200 f4L lens with ease. It's light enough to carry on the trail but still sturdy enough to provide a solid support for those long exposures. No, it will never replace my heavy Manfrotto tripod for my drive-around landscape photography. Then again, I'd never carry the Manfrotto on the trail. The MeFoto RoadTrip is just the right size and weight for travel. I highly recommend it.

Great travel tripod
Works very well as a travel tripod. Head has smooth movement and folds up to a very small size. As stable as would be expected from tripod of this weight - much better when you hang your camera bag from tripod.
