Great monitor, great picture.

Sep 2, 2014

I'm using this as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro and for video editing with Final Cut Pro X. It looks great and performs perfectly.

excellent monitor!

Aug 26, 2014

I have use this monitor for over 2 months now and its fantastic. I have it mounted to a 4 monitor setup via vesa mounts. This is my firs IPS so I really don't have anything to compare it to other than my old TN panels, But from what I can see it's color reproduction is right on the money. As far as the backlight bleed, there isn't any that I can see. My only gripe is the inputs on the back are a tad bit cramped. All in all a great monitor.

All-Around Performer

Aug 20, 2014

The best way to describe this monitor is an all-around great monitor. Perfect sized monitor (27 inches) for any environment, whether you are gaming (low lag), watching movies (great color-reproduction), or just needed to connect multiple devices (VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-I & DVI-D) this is the monitor for you. Unlike most TN display panels, you won't get any weird color shifts when viewing this monitor from multiple angles. This allows you to ... Show More

A New Design and Works Great Out of the

Aug 14, 2014

Looks like Asus did more than just redesigned the frame of the PB278Q. The colors are some of the best I've seen on any monitor. By using the Displayport, there isn't much you need to adjust. I think this is a new and updated version.

Worth the upgrade

Aug 13, 2014

I've owned a Dell 24 monitor for many years and always wanted a bigger monitor with higher resolution. After doing a bit of research I settled on this and it has far exceeded my expectations. Out of the box, the colors were vibrant and sharp, making my old monitor (I run dual monitors) look dull and old. I never realized how off it was until my upgrade. The monitor is extremely bright and highly adjustable. It's easy to balk at the price as you can get monitors pretty cheap these days, but this was easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. You won't regret it.

Good monitor, a bit overpriced

Aug 6, 2014

This is a good PLS (IPS) panel with relatively low response time. I haven't found any dead or stuck pixels so far. It does need calibration. Overall I really like the monitor but with all the 4K monitors coming out and cheap Korean alternatives, this is a bit overpriced. I do have a weird problem with sometimes no signal on display port which I have to see how to fix.

BIG, Bright monitor

Jul 28, 2014

Needed a large monitor for Photoshopping and was not disappointed. This was recommended to me by Photoshop Magazine as one of the '10 Best Photoshop Monitors', and I can see why it made the cut. Just remember, although it supports DisplayPort, you'll either need an adapter or cable to convert the big plug to the mini one on a Macbook Pro.

Very nice monitor, Great price

Jul 27, 2014

I use this as a second monitor for my iMac, It mounted easily to arm support and the image is great! Its no ones fault but mine but its important to remember this is display doesn't have a MiniDisplay/thunderbolt connection.. I had to go to @ and buy a Gigaware adapter which is actually pretty clutch because it has a DisplayPort, DVI, and HDMI conviently all in one bundle and is selfpowered. It also has a nice anti-glare matte screen. Overall, great price, great picture. I would recommend it.

Jul 24, 2014

I'm putting three stars as I've only had the monitor for a week can't fully evaluate it. I am still figuring out how to make adjustments to the big size & high resolution. It's lovely to have such large images in Lightroom but the text -- in LR and other programs -- is tiny. This is something I have to figure out in Windows, and it's my job to solve the issues, not really a reflection on the manufacturer. I have concluded, though, that it is fool... Show More

ASUS Review a Designer's Persepective

Jun 22, 2014

I was looking for an alternative to the Apple display and after some online research and cost limitations. I went for the Asus PB278Q 27.I am using this as my main monitor connected to my powerbook. My main goal was picture quality and this monitor delivers.I've read other reviews about the overall construction and lanky swivel option on the base. Unless you move your monitor around all the time, the construction and swivel is not as bad as stated... Show More

Awesome Monitor

Jun 1, 2014

This works with my Macbook Pro 15 Retina (late 2013). I bought the extra cable to go from mini-display port to display port. This did not come with the monitor. The other cables might have worked, but I was advised to get this cable prior to be sure of getting full 2560x1440 resolution with my MBP. I mention this specifically as the last monitor I bought worked with 3 different computers, but NOT with my MBP. This one works! Yay!

Great monitor

Apr 6, 2014

This is a nice step up from my 24 Samsung. Love the higher resolution, the text is very crisp. 1920x1080 just isn't enough, especially at 27. The color is not perfect out of the box, but looks great to the naked eye. I ran a Spyder4Elite on it, and can see that it had a very slight yellow tint, like most monitors do but less so. It looks better out of the box than any other monitor I've owned. You can tweak RGB values, as well as shift their offs... Show More

This monitor is not easy to adjust, it will take time to learn to control the functions of the six input buttons. It came with no user manual, but I located one on the internet which I couldn't print but the tech help person sent it to me via email as... Show More

Nov 30, 2013

I'm posting this review particularly for someone who wants to know how this monitor compares to Apple's 27 monitor or a 27 iMac for editing photographs. So, first some qualification: I'm comparing my late 2009 iMac's monitor panel to this ASUS PB278Q. And, I'm making my comparison based on calibrating both of them using Coloreyes Display Pro calibration kit purchased within the last six months. So far, very pleased

Oct 1, 2013

The Asus products I've purchased have always set a standard for quality. I purchased the monitor primarily on name recognition and have not been disappointed. I use it as a desktop computer monitor and HD TV and find it exceptional for either use. My only complaint has to do with the speakers. Built-in speakers are usually pretty lousy, and these are no exception. Asus could have left them out and charged less for the monitor.

excellent monitor

Oct 1, 2013

I was hesitant ordering this monitor after reading reviews about dead pixels and light bleeding. Well, I did pull the trigger, and all I can say this monitor is excellent. I have a 30inch Dell as well which looks grainy compared to the Asus. The Asus is much better for long hours of computer work. I like this monitor so much, that I ordered two more for my small busines. Thumbs up to B&H for the double boxing.

I was looking for a bigger monitor to use in post-production of photo shoots. This fit the bill perfectly. I really like the 2560x1440 esolution. The reason I did not give 5 stars is the slight bleading of light near the edges. It is not bad and I would buy it again. Great monitor for the price.
