Price+size+weight+stable=win!
I have two of these tripods, this one with the two-handle pan and tilt, and also the ball head. Both are good, but I like the leverage from the handles on this one. I wanted a tripod which would be light and compact yet sturdy and tall when extended. This tripod hit on all those marks. Even the lowest leg sections are sturdy. The center column also inverts for low angles. The limitations are these. The leg angles are not adjustable; either open o... Show More

This has been the most stead-fast tripod I've used/.
I do a lot of walking when in the field. No barriers too difficult. I am hard on equipment. Thos tri-pod so far seems to be the most Rugged I've ever owned/ I've cornered the Riviera cp ntimustr

Great tripod!
I went from using a heavy duty Bogen tripod that I had used with an 8 x 10 camera for years to this great tripod! It is less than half the weight, is easy to set up, and Ive had no problems with it after shooting numerous real estate jobs. Yeah, I recommend this tripod to anyone.

Good choice
I had been using a Bowens heavy duty tripod for years. It was great for the 4 X 5 & 8 X 10 cameras, but now this thing is excellent for shooting real estate. It's light, very easy to use, and I should have gotten it years ago! It comes with it's own bag to store or carry it in and you can lock your camera right into it using the Manfrotto quick release plate.

Good, but not perfect
I have some issues with the head being what seems to be entirely plastic? I fear over time there may be some durability issues. Wish it had a bubble. Overall, pretty light, sturdy.

Great Tripod
Does the job and pretty lightweight. Sturdy and felt secure holding the camera. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Works well for 4X5
I use a large format camera and needed something lighter to carry out into the field. This is half the weight of my other manfrotto tripod and much more compact. It doesn't have all of the controls I want, but the ease of carry and packing make up the difference.

good
Performs as expected was able to compare heads in the store what was exactly what I was looking for I do a lot of close-up photography.

Compact and I like the telescoping handles.
This may be the most compact three way pan head that is heavy enough for my purposes. I have used it extensively, more than a thousand sittings, and it is still smooth. The telescoping handles together with its small size make it easy to fit into a case and transport. The plastic quick release works well but it is too flexible for my use. I mount a Custom Brackets flash bracket on it and it does seem to flex enough to make me nervous at first... Show More

Amazing !
I have bought several Quick release plates over the past several years... but let me tell you... this Manfrotto Quick Release Plate is the fastest Ive ever encountered... its astoundingly fast ! The word Quick doesnt do it justice. In fact this Manfrotto Quick Release Plate challenges the very concept of how quick a thing can be. if your considering buying one... be quick about it.

Perfect complement to my professional tripod
Ive had a professional Manfrotto tripod for many years, but its too heavy and cumbersome to use for everyday personal shooting. This model is perfect. Its sturdy, yet lightweight and very portable.

Exactly what I needed
I ordered this as a replacement for the one that came with my Manfrotto Be Free tripod. I had broken off the ring that is used to tighten the screw that connects the plate to the camera.

Great tripod, great price
I purchased this tripod after breaking a cheapy Charlie tripod. I am new to photography and use a Nikon D-3500. This tripod is very sturdy, well manufactured and holds my camera very steady even with a 70-300 mm lens. I recommend this product.

Just what I needed
I love your online store. I can always count on you to have what I need. the quick release plate was missing from my tripod. This purchase was just what I needed.

I bought two.
Will take me a while to get used to these after those that I used for 35 years on my Manfrotto 329 pan-tilt head.

Poorly made. Already broken after one use
The plastic area where the handle attaches to the base is cracked after one use. Very poor quality for the price. Not recommended.

Solid, hard to improve
I already had the MHXPRO-3W, which has twice the load capacity, is aluminum alloy, tension adjustment dials, and is a few dollars more. Honestly, I wish I had just bought this first. In practice, it seems to be more than capable of everything I need it to do and the MHXPRO-3W is overkill. This head was bought specifically to use on a Sirui HA-77 horizontal arm. The D800 will be pointed straight down, so while a ballhead would've been smaller... Show More

Portable and great for photography
Light & easy to carry, great for photography. Panning however may not be as smooth for video.

Decent tripod with flaws that are super bad for video
When I started in photography, I got a cheapo Targus (Sunpak) because it was in a local store, cheap and it was better than no tripod. My experience with that was best described as "loose;" it was way better than nothing and I still use it for some things today, but I constantly felt like I'd break it and getting the top plate level was way more work than it needed to be. I'm mentioning it because I started moving towards video and the cheapo Tar... Show More

Not as good as I hoped
I had a 828B Manfrotto that I enjoyed. It was stolen so I had to replace. I replaced with this. The handles are a pain and there is no set screw to freeze the swivel or pan feature. The handle for the horizontal position also freezes the swivel. If you do not tighten the handle the position of the camera could change. This handle does 2 functions. Not a good design in my humble opinion.

Light and sturdy
This is a light weight but sturdy portable tripod. I use it with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS60 for stop motion and time lapse photography. It is great for this and for stills. It can do video in a pinch too.

unhappy
I never write reviews but I have not been happy with this tripod. A piece broke off of it within a couple of uses and the handles are all on top of each other to the point that I can't adjust the tripod. I'd been too many days to send it back to B and H so I'm looking into the manufactures warranty. I would not buy it again.

Very solid
In general I find all Manfrotto products overpriced BUT I will admit they are solid and very well machined plus they seem to last forever. "Expensive but worth it" :-)
