The iron has easy to understand and comprehensive instructions. The heat setting is adjusted with a push button, and had different coloured lights to show when the selected heat has been reached. There is an extended flex, for ease of use. The iron had a large capacity, transparent, water reservoir. The sole plate has a Teflon finish, which results in a very smooth finish to the material. The iron is light weight, with a flex that is easy to use for Left or Right handed users.

This iron was really the worst iron I have used. I never compromise on the price, although this iron was not expensive, I purchased this as the reviews seemed decent. However, upon using it, the iron sticks to the clothes when ironing. The heat settings are poorly designed, it’s either too hot or too cold, you can’t have it in between. The steam function only works when the iron is set to the higher heat, and then when you iron at this heat it sticks to the clothes where other irons do not. Finally, the steam button, when pressed, releases a lot of water and the steam release is rubbish. DEFINITELY AVOID buying this iron. The better option to purchase is the Russell Hobbs Powersteam Ultra Vertical Steam Iron 20630 (item number 248/5757), this iron is perfect. ... More

and not to my mother and the reviews here ..... the iron doesn't get hot enough or give enough steam to give satisfactory results it took ages to iron a single duvet cover that was line dried and with fabric softne. Is a nice colour in theory it should be a good buy but i took it back the next day to replace it with another brand. If anyone is interested which? only rate it as 52%

Basically, it does what it says on the tin. The features include steam, shot of steam and water spray. All my other irons had a dial to set the temperature. This one has a button below the steam button. You press it until you see the colour flashing for the pre-set temperature you need. If you leave the iron not in use for a time (the instructions say 8 minutes but I think it's a bit less) the iron automatically shuts off. Reactivate it by pressing the temperature button.

We bought this iron for my mum who has arthritis in her hands. She really loves it!! It’s light enough for her to use without discomfort and the ironing performance is great too. The controls are easy to see and use unlike her other one. The safety cut out if the iron is dropped is also reassuring as mum was always worried about what would happen if she fell or dropped it.

Bought this iron to replace one that cost twice as much but I only got 18 months out of before it overheated and died. Won't be buying an iron of that brand again (MR). This iron is half the price and twice as good! It's lightweight to use, irons great and I quite like the colour-coded temperature setting. My only niggle is the water jug supplied is TINY. Good job I still had the full size water jug from my previous iron to use.

Bought this iron as a replacement, went on the reviews. Iron feels great & has multiple colour heat settings. Did first lot of ironing within 20 mins and a 3 load of washing in 55minutes. The ease of filling, use and how it glides when in use. Can not recommend this enough, would buy another as a back up for eventually when this one stops working.

After reading the reviews I made my mind up to buy this iron , big mistake !!! , the steam feature is rubbish, it’s never taken me so long to iron 3 shirts, doesn’t seem to get up to enough heat and i felt like I had to really press the iron on the clothes, I tried to return it to Argos but they said they wouldn’t refund as I’ve used it, now I’m stuck with a rubbish iron that doesn’t sum up to what it’s supposed to do , I’ve ended up buying one from Asda which is so much better, not brilliant but it does the job at the moment, I’d deffo recommend buying a heavier iron , or ask friends what they have cuz the reviews say the iron is so good which I don’t understand how !!! Honestly, steer clear of this one , there’s definitely fab irons out there, unfortunately Argos don’t make it easy anymore to try and return without fuss !!! I would’ve bought the same one as my old one but they don’t do it anymore unfortunately boo hoo ... More

This is a good iron but just be aware that the heating level is colour coordinated i.e blue / green/ red / orange there is no physical dial you just press a switch to adjust to the required heating colour so if the user has a problem recognising colours this may not be for you.I bought on a price reduction would have preferred a dial so I know when on/off etc as still not sure if orange is cooling down and off without unplugging.

The iron has preset temperature settings rather than the traditional dial. The preset temperature settings are too few, and was either too hot or too cool. Because I had filled the iron with water I wasn’t able to get a refund. Very disappointing.

Simple and easy to use, the temperature selector is user-friendly and you're not overwhelmed with lots of extras and gimmicks which you would never actually need as with some irons. Easy to refill, heats up quickly, doesn't drip or accumulate grit, and always irons easily and reliably. I shared one of these with a former flatmate and didn't hesitate to go for the same model for myself.

I always read the Argos reviews and this Russell Hobbs Iron had plenty of positive comments so I purchased it. It’s lightweight, and glides over different fabrics without any issues. It has a light up panel to guide you on temperature, rather than a temperature dial like other irons, so a modern design- red is the highest temperature. All in all a good iron!

Very easy to use, nice long lead, longer than my last iron, colour control on handle is very good & easy to use, it has a nice pointed shape to allow you to iron round buttons etc, also has non stick base when stood upright to stop it slipping, bought this to replace a different make of iron I only had for 2 years after the filling cap door broke & couldn't get a replacement, so chose this Russell Hobbs iron instead, couldn't be more pleased, very nice iron, would highly recommend.

I tend to go through at least one it iron a year so I can't yet comment on this iron's long term performance, but so far, so good. I like the temperature control colour scheme feature and the iron is light and very easy to use. The steam works well and it definitely seems to make ironing a little easier. Good value for money. Highly recommended....so far!

Been using this beautiful, efficient iron to iron my uniform every week since my old iron broke and it's the best iron I will ever own! The instructions are very straightforward and easy to understand and I'm very impressed with how quickly it heats up and effortlessly irons and increases an otherwise impossible to uncrease shirt. A fabulous purchase that I definitely recommend to anyone that needs a good iron.

Bought for my mum who is partially sighted and has difficulty seeing temperature settings, this iron has an easy and simple to use light up heat control which my mum has mastered at 87 years old! She thinks that it is excellent, glides smoothly over clothes and performs well, has a large opening for filling with water which she finds easier to use. Overall an excellent product. Would highly recommend and will also purchase for myself when my current iron bites the dust.

Got this as replacement for previous model RH iron I've had for 3 years which was discontinued and this model was its replacement. In my opinion it is not as good. The sole plate is not non-stick and unfortunately when I ironed jeans a deep scratch appeared after going over the zip. The water tank is considerably smaller as well. There is no safety cut out on this model as on previous one which was a really good feature. Overall disappointed but stuck with it now unfortunately

Really pleased with this iron, I have arthritis but it is easy to hold, fill and not heavy but great at doing the job. My hand/wrist did not hurt, the cord is quite long, I ironed everything that needed high and then decreased for more delicate items, this reduced temp quite quickly. I also like that it is none stick nor does it ‘spit’ and leave water marks on your clothes. Very happy with purchase, great iron for the price.

Early days yet, but so far the iron is performing well. It has a reasonably large water tank, so filling is required less frequently. Also, the power cord is 2.5 mts long, which is another plus point. We haven't used the self-clean function yet, but hopefully it'll prove to be a handy feature. If you buy this iron, don't forget to register it online, as you then get an extra year's guarantee, giving you three years cover in total.
