Typical Excellent but High-Priced Apple Product
Excellent Optical/DVD Reader Visually compatible with the iMac Too bad it doesn't do Bluray but that is a Sony issue.

Does work with IMac
I ordered an LG DVD drive, it did not work at all, my iMac did not recognize it. At least this one ois the same brand and computer was able to connect to it

Worth the money
I bought an 27 inch 5k Retina iMac from BH, but it comes without a superdrive. The USB superdrive is well designed and not much bigger than a cd. I have movies that I can now watch on the marvelous screen.

Does its Job
I bought this and it does its job and looks very apple. After visiting a large local electronics store I realized I could have found a non-apple brand product for much less. Also, this only works connected directly to the USB port on your computer. It does NOT work with a USB hub.

It kinda stinks to spend a significant amount of money on a computer then also buy an external cd/dvd drive. The device, however, is sleek and works well.

Free Standing Super Drive Super Good
I upgraded my 27 inch iMac with a Fusion drive so out came the CD. I got the super drive to replace it. Something to keep in mind.. it has to be directly plugged into a USB from the computer. A powered hub doesn't do it. Once you do that, I works wonderfully with cd's, dvd's, and recordable CD's/DVD's. Actually, it works better than the cd that came with my iMac.

When only the best will do!
I had originally gone with a much cheaper alternative. It felt flimsy and it wasn't pretty but it worked. That is until I tried to watch some DVDs. Half of my titles wouldn't play which would have been bad. Then I tried them on my Bluray player on my entertainment center and they worked fine. I ordered the Apple SuperDrive and they all play fine. Plus it is a much more elegant piece of equipment. So it cost a few dollars more...its worth it.

A Truly Super Drive by Applie
I had to burn 30 discs with a 1.5 gm IMovie for a High School Soccer Awards Banquet. I received the unit 7 pm on Friday night from B&H .... plugged it in Saturay morning ... and started the process. About 11 minutes per disck, and all 30 reported back by the players as functioning. Now that I won't need it for a few weeks, back in its box and stored out of the way. 5 stars for functioonality and speed.

A great added accessory
I purchased a new MacBook Pro that no longer has internal cd/dvd drives, yet I still have software and other things that I'd like to load and view on my computer. This USB Apple drive allows me to do just that. Additionally it is small and compact making it easy to transport and use across other devices.

Wonderful USB Apple SuperDrive
Since my new MacBook Pro does not have a DVD player I needed to get this SuperDrive. It is so handy (of course, not as handy as having it built in to the laptop but still very nice. Quite pleased with ALL my Apple purchases! Happy Holidays to all!

Great Little Drive from Apple
I purchased this as an accessory to my new MacBook Pro. It's a must-have for any new MacBook with the Retina display (and no on-board DVD drive). I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone with a new MacBook. Apple products are always reliable and easy to use.

Didn't have to be a tech wizard - simply plugged it in an it worked. No switches or buttons. Very plain looking and compact. Chord is about 12 inches long. Nothing negative to say because it works.

Good, but no thunderbolt
Works great, I would buy again. Why hasn't Apple used their thunderbolt instead of USB? Blue Ray would have been nice too.

I got this along with the 2015 iMac! It's super easy to use, and to set up just like the rest of Apple products! It's fantastic, and you can simply open/close it from keyboards! Haven't had a problem since I bought it!!
