Time Saver
I have several of these high quality plates that allow me to switch quickly between ball head, gimbal head, and pano head on the tripod's leveling base. This fits exactly on the bottom of the BH40 from RRS. I also have one of the TH-DVTL-55 (rectangular) plates from RRS, but I prefer the round shape of the TH-DVTL-40.

Quick release setup
I purchased theTH-DVTL 40 to mount onto my RRS BH-40 ball head help make it easy to move the ball head from my tripod to my monopod without having to unscrew the ball head.As usual the RRS product is of the highest quality. I will also use this setup as a light weight alternative for a gimble.

Accessory for small base tripod head
Well made consistent size base plate to convert small base tripod head to quick release. I subtracted 1 star because the included bolt was too long for a Kirk monopod head. I put the bolt on a lathe to shorten and then chased the threads with a machinist die.

Been procrastinating about this for too long Now have the dovetail 40 on each head Also have a RRS quick release clamps on every tripod and monopod Now its only seconds to change heads or switch between tripod and monopod

small wonder
Essential on an RRS BH-40 head. Also put one on a Varavon travel fluid head. Fits both head diameters perfectly. Fast switching. No more screwing heads on and off and ruining the threads of a nice Gitzo traveler tripod.

Excellent plate!
I'm putting the plate on my my ball head. I already have one on my gimbal. With a lever clamp on my tripod, it will be super quick and easy to swap back and forth between the ball head and the gimbal.

perfect fit
got it for my Wimberley so I can switch between ball head and gimbal head fast. If you have more than 2 heads or a ballhead and gimbal set - get it, small piece but worth every penny.

Expensive for what it is, but with two of these plates and a clamp you can switch from ball head to gimbal head in a matter of seconds.
