RRS Cradle Clamp is the best choice for Big Glass
It seems counter-intuitive, why would you need a clamp on a gimbal head? Then you try to mount a 600mm f/4 on a gimbal mounted on a monopod and it becomes clear. The lens is heavy and the monopod is very unstable, you desperately need a quick and reliable locking mechanism. I have used the RRS clamps on all my ballheads for years, they are fast, reliable and secure. Steve Perry advocated the use of gimbals on monopods for the shooting conditions ... Show More

Best cradle clamp for Gimbal Tripod Heads
I have a Wimberley Gimbal Head and just found out about the Really Right Stuff cradle clamp. Nothing was wrong with the cradle clamp that came with the Wimberley Gimbal Head except that while holding a 10 pound lens and turning the clamp to tighten was a slow process. I changed to the Really Right Stuff Cradle Clamp because it solved the problem. It has a quick release lever that now it takes no time to set down the lens and turn the quick release lever. I've been using it since getting it and it works great.

No regrets here!
Decided to pony up for the RRS cradle clamp and its lever release A perfect fit, and the addition of the knob with its soft touch gives an excellent secure feel when adjusting for balance The large plate also adds to the usability, there is a mile of adjustment there, so anything from 70-200 to 600 has plenty of room to balance If your a fan of lever release, you will be all over this! ;)

Wish I'd gotten this years ago
I knowwhen purchasing RRS gearI can buy some Chinese knock off for about one third of what the RRS part will cost, but I cant bring myself to clamp $10k+ of camera/lens into one of thoseChinese copies. My gear that supports my cameras gets used in some harsh environments, andtop to bottomits all RRS and has never let me down. Happy to see B&H is carrying the RRS gear.

Absolutely great
This is a terrific bit of kit. It goes on my Wimberley to add the flexibility of an RRS clamp base. Being something of a butterfinger I almost had a coronary trying to mount my Canon 500mm first time around with the standard Wimberley screw system (not a criticism of W, its me). This replaces the standard and works superbly - like all RRS gear. Couldn't be happier!

Awesome product and Great Delivery Services
Appart from having the product available, I was pleasantly surprised how efficient and prompt the the DHS mailing service was and most importantly affordable as I was purchasing in Australian dollars. I got the item delivered into Australia within 3-4days even quicker than frieght companies here in OZ. Have a great new year B&H crew. Greetings from OZ.

Clamped Tight and Reliable
This was an amazing addition to my Wimberley WH-200 gimbal. I absolutely hated twisting tight my very expensive Canon 600mm II lens. So I replaced it with this one. And when you clamp this tight. You KNOW its tight. Perfect in every way. Do yourself a favor and buy stop debating and just buy it. Youll be happy you did.

Quick and Easy!
Final touches for my WH-200! Arthritic fingers love the lever particularly when balancing those big lenses. The safety stops do not require the extra time and torture of repeatedly turning a knob for installation and removal and adjustments. Perfect fit, form and function!
