Manfrotto Super High Camera Stand - 24' (7.3m)

MPN's:
It's fine, not for long shutter releases
First let me say it works fine, I've place a motorized head and camera and extended it fully with no problems. That said, for the price it should come with some accessories. Because the unit is so unique it really should come with it's own bag designed both for it's size and weight - most tripods these day come with a bag and this one being abnormally large should as well. Second, I can go to any hardware store and buy tie-ropes what is hard... Show More

A great solution for my need
This tripod seems to have a great combination of weight and portability; I can fit it in the back of my 3 series BMW when I fold the rear seats down. I was able to use it at about 15' high without attaching securing ropes during a 1-2 second exposure. Once I exceeded this height, there was a slight movement even without a breeze. I ordered expediated FedEx shipping and it arrived at my door in 24 hours! Unfortunately one of the legs has a dent an... Show More

Monster Rock Solid Tripod
I bought this for panoramic photography. This along with a robotic camera head and Cam Ranger makes shooting 180/360 pictures from above to be very simple and also reduces the need for tilt/shift lens at a certain height when doing architecture. It is especially good with a GoPro omni or some other type of 360 by 180 type set up. You would need to get a 3/8 to 1/4 reducer. I've used this with a Nodal Ninja head for gigapixel photography and it excels at that as well Ask before you lift a camera up 20+ feet in a national park or you might have cause some excitement with the park rangers.

Lived up to expectations
I am exactly pleased with it. Safer than a drone, cheaper than a drone, and much easier to use for any high angle static shot. I use a pan tilt remote head and a go-pro to record storefronts, high school marching band performances, and unusual point of view shots - particularly of buildings. It absolutely wobbles, so the go-pro is the perfect camera with the wide angle. The wind-kit guys the pole like a tower... and it works well. I have not put more than 3 pounds on the mount, but i have been exactly pleased ... no more, no less. Completely worth the price.

Transport issue
Caution: no one makes a roller bag or a bag that you can use for carrying on a plane. The fixed height exceeds standard checked baggage and if the unit is broken down the longest section is 58. The Impact roller bag will accommodate 51

Super High stand, super sturdy
I am using this for my Matterport camera, and have gotten very clean 3D scans at 15'. So far, I love it!

Very well made
This unit supports my 7lb rig with no problem. You do need the tie downs for HDR work.
