Good for your Manfrotto

Mar 4, 2014

I have a 055 tripod for about 13-14 years and I have worn two straps which were different than this one. The old one had rubber on its surface so that it didnt slip on my shoulder, but after a couple of years the rubber started to come off and the strap was slipping on my shoulder all the time. And the old one was very simply but greatly fastened at the bottom of the tripod. Now this new strap doesn't have rubber on its surface and the strap is s... Show More

A much needed tripod accessory

May 22, 2012

Quite honestly I don't know why I didn't get this sooner. One of the biggest issues I have when going out in the field is dealing with my tripod. This is especially true when I do not want to bring my large backpack that I can strap my tripod to. I found that the strap is comfortable, and positions the tripod in a balanced way on my back. I have found it easy to have both this and my camera's black rapid strap on at the same time. I have not yet ... Show More

Pipe insulation is a better route

Jan 28, 2013

I got the Manfrotto tripod strap to help lug around a moderately heavy tripod (055XPRO/804RC2) with Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85mm scope. I've hoisted older scopes/tripods (not mine) onto my shoulder and wanted to avoid that approach. In the end, the scope/tripod/head combination was just too off balance to work. If I carried the combo scope/head first, I had to constantly hold them up to prevent them from hitting the ground. This meant that the shou... Show More

Could have fooled me...

Jun 25, 2012

The first few times I examined this, I was very skeptical & didn't quite believe this could actually be comfortable or worthwhile but badly needed a strap or case. I have to say, I'm very pleased with it's design & comfort for my Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod. The head, being the heavier end actually rests downward toward your side while the tripod legs point-upward behind your back - quite comfortably I must add. Also, the adjustable upper quick-rel... A Valuable Accessory for Hiking

Jan 29, 2015

A tripod strap is a must when one is hiking long distances. The MSTRAP-1 is a perfect addition for my Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 carbon fiber tripod. It goes without saying that the more comfortable it is to carry one's equipment, the more pleasant an outdoor excursion will be. The MSTRAP-1 is very well made and easily attaches to the tripod with a clip on the upper end and a snap buckle on the other end. And, to better ensure a good fit, the buckle end... Show More

BUY THIS PRODUCT IF . . .

Jan 3, 2013

Buy this product if you are tired of wasting money and energy searching for a way to carry your tripod. I paid a good deal of money for my 055CXPRO3 Manfrotto legs, but found myself leaving them behind because of the hassle of transport. I looked at a bag, but decided against it, as I didn't want to store my tripod but carry and use my tripod quickly. This strap allowed me to carry the legs on my shoulder and shoot without noticing them. But when... Show More

MSTRAP - Does the Job

May 23, 2013

The reason that I did not give this strap 5 stars is that the shoulder pad, like most of the shoulder pads out there is just moderately grippy. I ended up using an old camera bag strap with a very RUBBERIZED, CONTOURED shoulder pad, which stays on my shoulder better. I used 2 velcro cable wraps with 1 O-rings to make the adapter pieces to wrap around the leg and neck of the tripod. I wish this old camera bag strap had a label on it. I would buy a few of them. There is a demand, I believe, for camera straps with wide but flat, contoured, very rubberized shoulder pads.

Shoulder Pad Slides Too Easily

Feb 25, 2016

Bought this for my 3021B Pro but ended up returning it. The main problem is that the shoulder pad slides too easily up and down the webbing of the strap. As a result the pad always ended up at the lighter end of the tripod when carrying it rather than staying somewhere in the middle not what I was looking for. I returned it and bought the Oben TS-100 instead. Problem solved. Note that contrary to what's listed in the specifications, the MStrap does not extend to 72 inches! It's about the same length as the Oben (about 44).

Everything I could have asked for

Feb 19, 2012

Using this strap on a Manfrotto 190XB. Super easy to attach, clips easily to the area just below the tripod head (there is the mating clip on the frame of the pod). Bottom portion attaches tp the legs which makes for a very secure fit. I use a Vanguard GH-100 pistol grip ball head, so I have found it very comfortable to carry the tripod 'head down' after slinging the strap either over or across the shoulder(s). Strap itself seems very durable and appears to made to a high quality. Good purchase, priced very well @ B&H...

very well thought out product

Jan 28, 2013

The price on this product is reasonable considering the excellent built quality and the great design. actually the tripod will be upside down when carried with this strap. The manfrotto tripod designed with a hook to connect this strap. I still purchsed a Manfrotto tripod bag because I feel that the head is very delicate device. I would like to protect it with a bag. For convenience and short distance travel with no concern of banging the head. Shoulder strap is the way to go.

Not for schlepping!

Oct 27, 2013

This strap is extremely short and is of use only if you want to hand-carry your tripod a short distance. If you're looking for a shoulder strap, check out the Op/Tech and Oben straps; Manfrotto has tripod cases with shoulder straps too. The rubber grip provides a good hand-hold and the strap can be adjusted to balance the tripod. It's not a bad strap, it's just not meant to hook onto the tripod, sling the strap over your shoulders, and take a long schlep.

Excellent, Period.

Jun 17, 2015

I first used this shoulder strap while carrying the Manfrotto 055XPROB with the Manfrotto MVH500AH fluid video head attached. I had no problem and the strap slung over my head with the tripod and head on an angle on my back was easy to carry. I was really glad to have bought this strap. Let me tell you that I have to use a cane to walk and without the strap I would not have carried these items with me. It is very useful. Don't hesitate, get one.

Perfect for your 195 or 055

Sep 27, 2017

If you buy a Manfrotto 195 or 055 I would highly recommend that you buy this strap as well. I've used it on both tripods and it is the best $30 I've ever spent. It is comfortable and light weight and works great on both. You can easily detach the leg end and the strap just hangs from the tripod ready to be wrapped on the legs with a single click when you're ready to move on. As with everything Manfrotto makes, great design and great quality!

WILL NOT FIT MY TRIPOD

Apr 10, 2016

I inquired and was told by B&H's Tech Support that this would fit my Manfrotto Tripod 475B and there is no way that the attaching loop will expand enough to go around the leg sections of my tripod. It is a nicely made strap but not made for the 475B Tripod as I was told. Actually Manfrotto does not make any straps that will fit their larger tripods and it doesn't look like any of the other brand straps sold here will fit the 475B either.

not as good as the older model

Mar 31, 2015

My old Manfrotto tripod strap broke and that's the reason I purchased this one. The new one does not have the rubber on the underside of the strap which means it never really feels secure. On the plus side the bottom part now has a quick release and that makes attaching it easier. The old one broke at the clip that connects to the top of the tripod and that hasn't changed and that's why I'm giving it three stars.

Alright

Jul 24, 2012

This has been the best carrying option I have found thus far, without resorting to a tripod bag. Unfortunatley it isn't entirely comfortable on the back. The velcro end is sort of too long to strap around a single leg. I'm forced to put the velcro around all legs, which limits rapid deployment of the tripod. Luckily I don't make frequent use of tripods, so this is a decent option for the times that I do.

Just okay...... yet pricey...

Jan 3, 2013

I need a tripod strap for my 190 series so I went with Manfrotto. The quality is good, but I think it's too pricey and the design is just normal. Nothing novel, attach and remove it from the tripod is just as difficult as similar product from other company. Save your money unless you are really a Manfrotto follower or someone want to gift it to you.....

Buy with tripod

Jun 9, 2017

Didn't know it was an accessory when I purchased tripod. If I knew I would have purchased long ago with the tripod. Manfrotto 55pro is a great all aluminum tripod, but a beast to schlep around. Strap simplifies carrying without attaching to a backpack. I am sure carbon fiber would be much better weight wise although it is way above my pay grade.

Works Great

Aug 16, 2013

This strap is exactly what I was looking for. I tried a few different options like bags and such, but it took too much time to get the tripod out and set up. This strap makes it much faster. The only issue I have is that with a heavy head on the tripod, the weight feels off. It makes the tripod fall in a little uncomfortable stop on my shoulder.

Love this strap!

Jul 24, 2018

I love this strap and would highly recommend it. It didn't quite fit my tripod's strap holder (ManfrottoMT057C3-G 057 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Geared Center Column), but I made it work. The wider strap is nice for longer walks to shoots. Plus, it just "feels" stronger and more comfortable than any other strap I've used in the past with tripods.

Good value for your dollar

Nov 15, 2010

If you ever leave the studio with your tripod you will put this to good use. When hiking into the woods or along primitive trails I like to have both hands free to grab onto a tree for balance. I know there are a ton of backpacks with tripod toting systems but this is lightweight, quick to attach and quick to detach so you can set up your pod.

Must have accessory!

Nov 15, 2012

I primary use this to carry around my 190XProB. The shoulder pad has a generous length and can accommodate various strap settings. I like the quick detach system; however I wish there was a cleaner way of holstering the end while the tripod is in use. Overall a component product that I think should come with the tripod legs in the box.

Good strap

Feb 1, 2012

I use this strap for Manfrotto 055CXPRO4. The strap is very well-made and confortable to use. It works well with the tripod. It can handle the weight of the tripod well and it feels solid. I give its review 4 stars because it takes time to release the tripod from strap and it's not quite comfortable when use with backpack.

A must!

Mar 19, 2012

I own a tripod bag, and it serves its purpose... however, on a daily basis it is much easier to use the shoulder strap than the bag. The padded part is very comfortable and not only makes traveling with the tripod comfortable, it allows you to take better photos because you will actually have your tripod with you!
