Does a great job and cheap!
This has been my standard head for 5+ years, until my tripod was stolen at the base of the Eiger. I travel extensively and often hide my tripod, so I can be more mobile. With a note saying I'll be Baaack. So I've given up on expensive Gitzos and Foba heads. (I've had 2) This unit is simple and basic, but even for twice the money it can't be beat. It's also relatively compact. I've used it with my Canon 7d with no problems or slippage, even with my 70-200mm lens. After spending hours reviewing various model, I see no reason to buy another model for so much more money.

Still going
I've been using the original 3025 head for 30 years now. It's solidly built, very simple (which is probably why it's lasted this long), and flexible. One word of caution; be careful when adjusting your camera and make sure the knobs are tight. Once the knobs are loosened, there is no counterweight to prevent the camera from slamming down. Back in '84 or so I put a nice dent in my Canon F-1, by not making sure the knobs were tight. Other than that, this is a well made, easy to use head at a very reasonable price and I continue to use it daily with my 5D MkII.

Nice Piece for Remote Cameras
I bought this even though I already owned and used the Manfrotto 410 geared head. I wanted something smaller and lighter for setting remote cameras while traveling. This head folds up nicely for transport, and is solid enough to hold a camera (at least a full frame DSLR and pro wide angle zoom). When the knobs are tightened they stay in place; I saw no creep at all. Paired with a Super Clamp, this would replace a tripod and ball head where there was somewhere to clamp it. Highly recommended and a nice addition to my collection of stuff.

using for panoramics
This head, in combination with my Canon 70-200mm lens and tripod collar, can get my lens to pivot at the entrance pupil (and avoid parallax), which is great for doing panoramics (tripod collar lets me shoot portrait orientation). I think I had to be at 100 or 135mm for it to work, and scoot the tripod collar base all the way to the back that T in the head. There's a way to do this with any lens, that uses a Metz flash bracket (slot for adjustment) and a steel L bracket from .... Google around for a DIY panoramic fix and you'll find it.

Simple, well made, cost efective
This is really a great product. I've had mine for over 15 years and it still works perfect, it is a quality product at a down to earth price that will make u happy. It is light, compact and is great for travel, it can take on many cameras from pocket to full D SLR with up to a 135-200mm lens with no problems. Keep in mind two things: 1.It is not a pro head. 2. There are still a hand full of products that work well without having to pay a bundle.

A very solid head at a great price!
This is my second head of this model. My first lasted 8+ years before I lost it. It was as solid as the day I bought it. I wanted this head for a lightweight and inexpensive TRAVEL tripod (Promaster C423W Carbon Fiber). With a little caution, this combo can be trusted with my Canon 7D camera. It's not too top heavy. This head can easily go on just about any heavier tripod and provide rock solid support.

Solid and Steady
We used this product to mount stationary cameras. It was very easy to use and adjust to get the right shot. Once you locked it in, the head kept the shot still and secure. These heads are exposed to wind and other weather elements, and have continued to keep a solid shot. If someone is not familiar with adjusting tripod heads, then this product may be a little difficult at first.

Excellent product!
My first Manfrotto head. I am very pleased. When I purchased it I reall did not know the capabilities of the head other than it could hold 6.6 lbs. I found that my equipment weighs 4.3 lbs and the head has no problem at all hold that weight at all types of configuration. The thumb screws tighten fully with just a slight twist and it is very easy to use. Would highly recommend!

Useful but get the right stud for it too
YOu need to do an angle shot using your Super Clamp, then this device will make it happen. Its freaking awesome but you have to make sure that your aware that you have to use it directly with the manfrotto super clamp stud. Tried to use it with the Magic Arm and I found out that I needed to get another stud for it and a 3/8 to 1/4 adapters to make it work.

A Good Piece
Definitely does what it says it does; durable and solid. The downside is that it's pretty heavy and somewhat bulky if you are carrying it in a backpack. I also use the SuperClamp with a swivel mount to the accessory shoe to hang a small camera: less weight/less size and the same or better flexibility (though it must be top-hung from the shoe)...

Bulky but versatile
I'm using this head with the Manfrotto 682B Self Standing Monopod and a Canon XHA1 video camera. I really like the versatility of the head, but so far I've had some issues with the mechanisms getting in the way of my pans and tilts. This could very well be user error and getting out the little tics of using it. Otherwise, I love it.

Excellent
Excellent tripod head. Small, easy to use and secure. I went from this head to a ball head but I'm back using this head. The ball head couldn't hold the camera in a horizontal position (the head didn't move but couldn't tighten the camera enough to say still). This has more contact area between the mounting plate and camera base.

Makes many adjustments easy , compact
This makes securing and moving the camera round on the tripod even for a side tilt a breeeze. My hands don't do as well with some of the other flat controls. I put it on a used other brand tripod with a level on it. So it's a lightwieight, compact very flexible setup for me to drag into the woods, up hills, etc. Love it!

Issue when used w/super clamp
Tilt head by itself is great. But, be wary when using with the Super Clamp 035. When attached to the super clamp, the knob that controls the rotation portion of the head will interfere with the clamp mounting surface. As such, the head can only be tightened in approx. 300 of max possible 360 degrees.

very solid
Bought this to use with a 5D Mk 2 and lens as big as 70-200. It is very solidly built. Doesnt seem to have any problem with the weight. Has three different levers which allow you great flexibility for various angles. Used it last night to photograph the sky without a problem. Id recommend it.

for the price I am very impressed, having used ball mounts I prefer using this X-Y-Z head, if you take the time to level your pod any single head moment in pan, elevation or tilt will be on a square axis not flopping around like a ball mount dose making adjustments simple

Combo Deal Appreciated!
I purchased this along with the Manfrotto #035 SUPER CLAMP and 037 REVERSIBLE SHORT STUD to use as a tripod mount for a 7 LCD video monitor. This looks like a perfect combination for when recording wedding videos where the video camera is far above my head.

Great for students
We use this head for our tripods at a community college photo program. They are simple, durable, and there are no detachable parts that can be lost by students. These have done very well for us over the last 5 years that we have been using them.

Use with Glidetrack
I am using this product with my Glidetrack and it is perfect! I can quickly balance my camera and keeps it locked down even with heavy lenses. It also enables you to get really creative with multiple movements on the Glidetrack.

easy, cheap, starter head
Needed a simple light weight head for my tripod. Its good for what you pay for. Not the greatest but not the worst either. Feels strong and sturdy. Just not as fancy as other Manfrotto heads.

Sturdy Built
I use this tripod head for portraits. Very sturdy with a large range of motion. Good for when adjustments don't have to be quick, not recommended for action shots. Good panning ability.

Very Ok for the price
I bought this 3D Junior Head in a bundle with a superclamp (Manfrotto 035). For the price, the head is very good and versatile. No quick release, but it wasn't a problem for me.

TheUtilitarian Tripod Head
A utilitarian tripod head, no-frills but gets the job done. I keep three or four of these around to secure other equipment, sound recorders, etc. that I may need on a shoot.

Great to mount small cameras
I use this with the Super Clamp without Stud and then order the Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8 & 1/4-20 Threads (Brass). Makes a great mount using a pipe for a camera
