I was looking for a replacement of my 25 year original quick release plate even considering in investing in a new tripod at all when I found the architectural quick release plate. It is a very sturdy but simple construction and works very well. there is alsolutly no need to replace my old ballhead. happy B&H is the source for all kinds of photo equipment even it is a more then 25 years old tripod

Does the job
I use this for architecture and any other time I use my large tripod rig. Nothing really good or bad. It's quick release plate. It does what it's suppose to do!

Good alternative to a L-Bracket
Less expensive alternative to a L-Bracket if your tripod head is Hex Type. I have added a DIY plastic insert to avoid scratching my 7D body.
