Good Quick Tripod

Jan 19, 2011

Good mini tripod, I use this on my panasonic hpx and it holds it good enough to set up a quick table/ground shot.

Italian Design!

Jan 18, 2011

Well made, functional, careful design, a work of art. Model 709B is similar to Model 3009, but approx. 1 shorter in height and without the additional lower horizontal bezel. Useful for not only cameras, but also antenna support and display model stands.

I gave mine away... I bought another one

Dec 29, 2010

Very very stable! Survives sand, drops and saltwater. I can mount a very heavy lens and not worry about it moving. This is a PRO's minitripod

Big Hit

Dec 28, 2010

The recipient was very pleased with the size and the fact that the tripod fits two different cameras without an adapter.

a good product

Dec 27, 2010

Very portable, good stability with a SLR (nikon D90) in orizzontal position. When used in vertical position is quite unstable, you have to push on the leg opposite to camera.

Great little tripod for an iPhone

Xmas gift for a daughter so she can now create simple videos with her iPhone. Small enough to fit in her purse.

Too simple

Dec 8, 2010

This is a very simple and sturdy table tripod. It does the job but for the price I whish it had more features like the Gorillapod or the Sliks.

Great product

Dec 2, 2010

Like all the Monfrotto product is well made, solid, and stable . It holds my Nikon D700 with a 24/70 2.8 attached with no problem. No vertical application with this size camera, but, for $ what more can you ask.

Decent for travel

Dec 2, 2010

This was bought for a trip where a full size tripod could not go. This tripod is small enough to fit in a camera bag. Being so small, it is not extremely solid. Don't expect to be pushing buttons on the camera and have it stay perfectly still, particularly with a DSLR. When setting the timer/using a remote shutter, it works great. Very well made, but the head is pretty small and is not very rigid.

Small, but great!

Nov 23, 2010

Tripod with enough power to hold my pretty heavy DSLR with object. Light weight so I bring it with me all the time. Of couse you need a stable surface under the tripod, but there is always al wall, table or something else you can use. Perfect for light travelling and still bringing a tripod with you.

Mixed Results

I have had excellent results (i.e., strong stability and support) with this product on hard surfaces. However, if you try to use it on softer or uneven surfaces, you will face difficulty.

A good little tripod to carry when traveling. Would be better with a quick release attachment, but still a very good product.

Fantastic

Oct 18, 2010

I take this little tripod on all of my trips. It's so small it can fit in my pants pocket. Perfect for places like Grand Central Station where big tripods are not always allowed due to security and people density issues. I place it on the banister for motion blur exposures. Can also be used against walls. Lightweight. GREAT to have for those unexpected situations. Folds small, great stability, very lightweight, and easy to manage. Can't be beat, in my opinion. It was recommended to me by B&H staff when I visited the NYC store a few years ago.

Strong guy

Oct 12, 2010

I would not try a gorilapod instead of this for my camera. This tripod is realy strong and I know I can trust my camera being suported by it. The only problem is that with great power there must also come - great weight. At least for my casual usage, I know I will plan before bring it with me anywhere. Overall, it delivers what you expect if you need your camera steady and take good pictures.

All that is advertised. The tripod is very sturdy, light, with a ball head and easily handles the SLR digital camera.

Excellent Tripod

Sturdy, stable and very easy to carry around. Perfect for parties or low to the ground shots. I'm completely sold on the Manfrotto tripod line... I own 3 and love each one.

light but solid

Jun 27, 2010

This little tripod holds my Canon 40D steady, even with the substantial 16-35 or 70-200 lens attached. With its diminutive size and light weight, there's no excuse for not having it with you.

Solid tripod, but a bit too short

May 14, 2010

I was considering between the Slik Mini-Pro III tripod and this, and bought them both! The build quality of the tripod is excellent, and I'm impressed (this is my first Manfrotto product). Ball head does not creep much after tightening, supporting a Olympus E-520 and ZD 11-22mm lens. Shooting in portrait orientation becomes more of a problem, as the attachment to the camera base starts to rotate, even though the ball head is stationary. Overall an excellent product that I would bring with me wherever I go.

Sturdy tabletop tripod

May 11, 2010

Manfrotto is a brand I have come to trust with strong craftsmanship. I tested this tabletop with a D700 with 35-70 f2.8D attached, and it had no trouble supporting the weight. The wide spread on the legs bring the camera to that all-to-important critically low height. Enjoy!

Very Cool Tool

Apr 21, 2010

I found out about this product from Scott Kelby in his series of books and thought it would be a good idea to take with me on trips where a tripod isn't possible. It packs very small and works great. It will assist a pro camera, but it will not support a pro camera. If you are looking for a tripod to hold a heavy camera or lens, do yourself a favor and buy a tripod designed for that. This tripod will allow you to get low on a table for food shots... Show More

Sturdy piece of gear

Jan 9, 2010

I bought this tripod to take on a trip. Its small therefore easy to pack. It supports my 20D well and is very stable. The spread is a little wide making it difficult to hold up to a vertical surface like a door frame.

Compact and very sturdy

Sep 15, 2009

Great and easy to use. But it is not a must have for everyone, because it has specific uses. I'm using it with a EOS 450D with a 50mm lenses. For portrait orientation, one must take extra care with balance.

709 Tabletop Tripod with Ball Head

Feb 16, 2009

One of my favorite features about the tripod is how compact and transportable it is. I was originally interested in one of the flexible tripods, but after discussing with the salesperson the pros and cons of each, I realized this tripod was the better buy.
