Perfect for architectural...

Feb 14, 2012

I bought the 457B primarily for shooting real estate as it had been highly recommeded by a colleague. In the two weeks I've had it I've used it to shoot both real estate and products, and it has been nothing short of brilliant for both applications. Incredibly strong and sturdy with an ability to go very high, which makes it perfet for real estate/architectural work. Very happy with this product.

Great for stability!

Oct 24, 2011

I recently purchased this tripod for the Video Ministry at my church. This is actually the 2nd Manfrotto 475 I've bought for the VM, the 1st was about 4 years ago. Because I was so impressed with the design & stability of the original one under any filming condition, when it came time to buy a 2nd tripod there was no question what I wanted! I would buy this model again & again!

Solid tripod

Jun 3, 2012

I use my tripod to film bmx and motocross so I need something fairly mobile and this tripod works perfectly. People say it's too heavy, but even for a scrawny white boy like me it's not difficult to carry around all day. Holds up to wind perfectly fine. The leg spreaders. Don't like to stay tight but its not a problem that should make you second guess your purchase.

Built Like a Tank

Oct 5, 2011

Solid, heavy construction. Not a tripod you'd want to have to lug any great distance, but fantastic when you need the stability. Mostly for field use, static shots. Have the 222 Joystick Head mounted so that takes care of leveling, rather than having to mess around with the leg length. And the anti-slip feature of the center column crank is a splendid feature.

Fantastic Video Tripod

Jan 13, 2015

This tripod is very stable and of excellent build. The cross braces add to the stability. The quick release plate allows for front to rear adjustment. The gear crank column is smooth and makes elevation changes quick and easy. The only thing I don't like is the weight. I prefer carbon fiber but the cost is nearly double; none the less this is a great tripod.

Great Sturdy Tripod

Aug 2, 2017

I am using this tripod to hold a 90mm widefield refractor on a TeleVue Cradle. All my other tripods shook the view whenever I touched the focus. This tripod is a bit beefier than all the previous yet still light enough to carry even when Telescope Mounted. I might not want to carry it on a 5 mile hike but other than that this thing is perfect for my use.

The Height I Need

Jun 20, 2008

Nature/Landscape use with heavy lens. I needed a tripod that I did not have to bend over to look thru the veiw finder. This tripod fits that bill, it is very well made and gives a rock solid platform, even when fully extended. It is Heavy and not easy to lug around and when extending the legs, you have to go slow to help elimate the noise of alumium.

Beast of a Tripod

Jan 5, 2015

This is a big, stable tripod. I would have preferred carbon fiber for the weight but the cost was not justified. The tripod is fully adjustable and the cross braces add good stability. I'll tote it when I have to, but only for short distances. The crank works great and makes height adjustment a no brainer. Great video tripod.

A beast!

Mar 25, 2012

I'm in my mid 50s and yeah this tripod has some weight to it. But I like knowing that when I have a Canon 5D Mark II with lens, flash and so on attached that the tripod is going to stand it's ground. I could have afforded a carbon fiber tripod but there is something about the feel of solid aluminum and this tripod is great.

Rock Solid and Versatile

Feb 26, 2018

Quality equipment as always from Manfrotto. Heavy duty and extremely stable in any position. I have mine outfitted with a 131DD accessory arm along with a 496RC2 ball head and a Rc2 quick release. This combination suits all my small studio needs. The geared center column is also a great feature that youll be sure to use.

Very Steady Tripod

Jul 26, 2011

I use 475B Tripod legs and 5HDV fluid head with my Sony EX1R and Canon 5D Mark II for shooting weddings and events. Strong construction and very stable tripod. A little bit heavy but that's OK. It is a great quality product for the money. If you need good stability them buy one for your self. I am very happy with it.

Excellent Tripod

Nov 29, 2016

This tripod is sturdy, slick, perfectly designed for easy use and simple excellent! I got a Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head with it and together I could not be happier. My first shoot with the new gear was architectural photography...and the new gear made setting up and adjusting shots super smooth and simple.

Heavy Solid Value

Dec 5, 2012

These legs were my attempt to overcome the slight wobble I get in my 190proB legs. They are rock solid and great for macros, portraits or anything where they don't have to be moved quickly. Heavy of course because they're huge, but that's expected and add to their stability. I'm very happy these legs.

Overall I would buy this product w/tri-pod

Mar 20, 2017

Works great overall, the head is outstanding with the way you can make adjustments, the only issue is the lock on the side for securing the up/down motion comes loose when you move up/down motion, then you have to keep tighten to get the correct tightness. Overall I would buy this product w/tri-pod

Gets the job done- and then some.

Jun 29, 2009

This tripod is a beast. Plain and simple. More than a match for my Sinar X and just about any other camera in my arsenal. Sure footed as a mountain goat and more solid than the Rock of Gibraltar. The only real downside is that with all of that capacity and stability comes with a lot of weight.

Built tough to last...

Jan 30, 2012

I have used quite a few tripods in my last 15 years of professional photography... both in studio as well as outdoors. Over the years many new tripod products and mechanisms have evolved, but i must acknowledge that Manfrotto 475B has been one of the most reliable of all that we have used.

Quality at the right price

Mar 18, 2010

Very solid and good build quality, and the price is just right. Using it with my Mamiya RB67 The only reason I'm not giving this top-rating is that the adjustment for the legs are made of some kind of plastic. If something should happen I think Manfrotto also sells these as spare parts!

Sturdy

Dec 2, 2019

We use this tripod at work. we use it to take 9 to 12 photos of patients from a distance and close up. We are moving the tripod for every single photo so the tripod has to be very maneuverable and it is. It gets used many times every work day. It is very sturdy and yet lightweight.

Simply amazing...highly recommended

Mar 3, 2019

This tripod is solid as a rock (and heavy of course). Even fully extended the center is very solid and high enough for most situations without requiring extending the bottom legs. The thing I love the most is the crank to adjust the center column. cant be without that feature now!

Big, Stable Legs

Dec 4, 2016

I've been buying this model of flash from Bogen and now Manfrotto since the late 1970s. I currently have three, as I don't like to change heads between ball, pano and gimbal. If you need tripod legs for heavy camera/lens loads, and stability this is my favorite.

Heavy but sturdy - great for compositing/long exposure

Jun 30, 2015

this is a bit cumbersome for a 5'4 person of small frame, but worth it to have rock-solid steadiness. I composite and do long exposures, so if you need your rig to withstand some wind and accidental nudges, this is it. All the parts ensure fine-tune adjustments

Sturdy, Nice and tall.

Aug 28, 2018

I bought this Tripod to do Photography for an upcoming wedding, and it's great to use as is. I can't wait to use it at the wedding. It's nice and tall as well as sturdy, perfect for higher and steady shots. The only down side it doesn't come with a carry bag.

Good solid tripod

Aug 17, 2008

I like the design and the robust construction of this tripod. It is on the heavy side but that is what I was looking for to work in the studio. I am not there yet but I would expect to check it for noise. I am sure due to the mass, it will cut down on a bit.

The best tripod you will ever have

Nov 27, 2018

For the price category - its simply the best one: sturdy, heavy and solid, you can place it in whatever angle you want Its not a traveler tripod and suitable for studios or places where you need to have small foot print on the ground Definitely recommend it
