Great addition to my Manfrotto 7322YB-BB

Jan 1, 2014

I bought this to use with my Manfrotto 7322YB-BB tripod. My tripod came with an attached ball head but without a quick release. It fits very well on my tripod. It is a very solid and heavy duty quick release. It added some weight to me light tripod( which is noticeable); however, I don't feel like I have to worry about my cameras being attached it and coming off. This is a very well made item.

Manfrotto 323 Quick Release system

Sep 26, 2011

Great value for money. I use this system for my Canon 500D on a tripod and monopod. My lighting gear also has the same plates to allow my tripods to serve double duty when needed as light stands. The low cost, positive location and solid grip of the cam lock system are unbeatable for the price. The Adapter stays open and then clamps automatically when the equipment is placed in it. No gripes!

Very good Buy!

Aug 4, 2015

I bought multiples of this product to be the base to many of my stabilization rigs to make it easier since I do a lot of video. Its a very good product and I very much enjoy how easy it is to get the camera on it! The only complaint that I have is it takes some getting used to to get the the camera off of it and the first time I did it I almost dropped my camera! Overall a great buy though!

Works Great! High Quality!

Apr 6, 2011

I'm using this with my Canon HF-S10 Camcorder and my Opteka Video Shoulder Support System. The quality of this quick release is impressive! One thing that I like about this item is there is a small pin that locks the release so there is no way that you can accidentally release when your camera is on. Really nice adapter, I'm ordering another for my other stabilizer for ease of switching.

It Is Quick

Dec 25, 2008

I am using this release on my monopod with plates on my D300, D80 and D90. It is faster for me to do the tilt in with the heavier cameras and lens, than using the slide-in type adapters. I just set them in place and they drop into place. I also like the safety latch, which turns under out of the way. I also have a plate on my long lens that gives better balance. I trust it with my gear!

Great product, easy to use

Jul 10, 2012

Bought two of these for installation on two monopods, which were purchased at the same time. I love these quick-release units! They are installed on all my camera gear so that all the options are available, regardless of what camera and monopod or tripod are used. Only precaution... be sure the safety lock is used at all times. That prevents the quick release from inadvertantly opening.

Quick release is convenient

Nov 25, 2009

This quick release is slim and sturdy. I bolted it to an aluminum platform that rolls back and forth for macrophotography. The rolling platform is attached to a very robust tripod. Before, I had to bolt the camera to the platform every time I set it up; now I just snap in the quick release. The system is very stable which I need for macro work with slow shutter speeds and high f-stops.

Sturdy

Jan 6, 2017

Item is well built and good for heavy duty. They are little heavier than it looks like. I have bought one unit of 323 RC2 system and bought few additional 200PL-14 plates. Adaptor is always attached to my tripod and 200PL-14 plates attached to my lenses and camera bodies. This way I could easily mount them on my tri-pod. Recommend this unit and it will be your humble servant for years.

Quick Rekease for video camera

Sep 22, 2014

I bought a videocamera that does not include a tripod mounting plate, only a threaded hole. Attaching it to the tripod plate and trying to slide it on and of was difficult and it usually came loose. I needed someway to easily attach and remove it fron that plate. The Manfrotto 323 RC2 solved my problem. The camera can be attached or removed quickly and smoothly and it locks securely.

Best Investment for a low price!

Jan 20, 2016

I purchased the323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate by Manfrotto with a gift card from B&H. I needed a quick release Adapter and the 323RC2 fit the bill. I was able to mount it onto a Slik tripod with a ball grip handle. The 200PL14 plate was mounted on a spotting telescope. I have the capability to quickly mount my equipment onto the mono pod and to the tripod.

Disappointed

Sep 21, 2010

The product is obviously made well, however it won't fit on either of my pods. I have a Manrotto monopod and a Giottos tripod. The bottom receiver plate has a molded section that seats the lever pin - this molded section doesn't allow for the receiver plate to seat flush with the receiving pod. I gave it three stars because it's really made sturdy, but too bad it won't fit my gear.

I'll be buying more. This is like cooking with gas!

Sep 21, 2017

I attached this to a monopod I also purchased as I wanted to be able to quickly and easily uncouple the monopod from a telephoto/body combination I was using. Mission accomplished! Not only did it work well, it was solid as all get out and never did make me feel like anything was in peril of coming apart until I wanted it to. I'll be buying this again when I have a similar need.

Huge Design Flaw

Aug 29, 2013

Wait...why would Manfrotto offer a part that won't fit on their tripods and monopods??? The mounting hex bolt housing for the release lever sticks out too far. (See second stock photo.) There is a gap between the bottom of the plate and the top of the tripod. This won't mount to my Manfrotto 190XPROL properly. Going to contact customer service about returning this item.

in order to show you what the INTERFERENCE between Manfrotto 323 RC and Manfrotto 681 Monopod, see the attached photo. There is significant gap between the plates that cannot be great if you use Manfrotto 323 with Manfrotto 681. To solve the problem, I found Oben QRA-R2,which works perfectly with the Manfrotto 681 monopod. Highly recommend NOT to get the Manfrotto copy.

Makes shooting events convenient

Jun 23, 2011

Heavy duty, sturdy, and decent for it's price range... Makes shooting events convenient when you need to switch from tripod to glide cam or slider without having to deal with the hassle of screwing and unscrewing my camera and missing those important shots when you want to get creative on the fly. Only downside is that it is bulky but it seems durable and well built.

Quick Release Adaptor for everything!

Feb 26, 2010

I use this adaptor on my flash bracket, monopod, and tripods, and I have the plates on all my cameras and lenses. They are inexpensive, and so sturdily built they will easily support my 100-400mm zoom fitted to the 5D/50D, with no detectable shake. I like the safety lock feature too, and that I can attach the camera/lens with one hand, using the self-closing feature.

Jus what I needed !

Sep 22, 2014

I have been a Manfrotto tripod, quick release plate, Manfrotto head and relase adapter dedicted user for many years. There products are strong and able to to handle my treatment of DSLRs, Medium formant as well as my 4 X 5 camera. The Quick release adapter is used on top of one of my ball heads and I really can't find anything that is not great about this product !

old-head saver!!!

Dec 4, 2008

I have purchased two of these in the past year or so and they are fantastic! I used the first one to custom-build a 90-degree bracket for my 701 head so that I can put a camera on it in vertical orientation and the other to replace the stock threads on my Giottos MH-1001 with a QR plate. This is a great 'old-stady-by' piece of equipment and I'd highly recommend it.

Not intended for flush surface mount

Jan 16, 2012

I bought this to use in conjunction with my video tripod and tripod plate. I do both video and photography with my dslr and am constantly switching between a monopod, video tripod and a shoulder rig for handheld video shooting. After buying this I realized it isn't intended to mount to a flat surface. The release mechanism protrudes down past the mounting surface.

I liked it but had to return it...

Jun 1, 2011

The plate and adaptor worked great. Good quality and durable. The problem is that I wanted it to attach to my Manfrotto 679B monopod and it did not fit. The top of the monopod is flat and circular in shape. The bottom of the RC2 has a piece that sticks down and just barely catches the edge of the circular monopod top. It prevents it from screwing down completely.

Good ... But Not Perfect

Mar 7, 2011

I bought this adapter to use with my Sachtler tripod head as it was too much trouble switching plates all the time (I have a Manfrotto monopod). The Manfrotto rep said this system would work with my Sachtler, which it does to some extent. But the adapter will not lock into place. I'll have to be a bit careful with it, and will see how often I use it over time ...

Very Versatile small and rugged

May 9, 2017

I was looking for a small quick release system to use with a sound recorder (Sony PCM-M10). This is perfect. Very rugged build quality. I am able to use this for double duty for smaller cameras as well. The price is right. I am very happy I did not listen to a local camera guy telling me I would need to buy a tripod for $70.00 in order to get the mount system.

great for use on a travel tripod

Mar 14, 2017

I use the RC2 system quick release adapter with 200PL plate for a Manfrotto compact light aluminum tripod. This makes it easier to mount your camera quickly. There is a small lever to lock the quick release, to prevent inadvertent release of your camera. It is very sturdy and well-made. I think it is best suited for a small DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Simple and Well built!

Mar 13, 2012

Really trying to standardize all my tripods to one plate. Really like the quality of Manfrotto and like that I do not need a tool/coin/key to tighten this plate. and that it's small profile means I can normally leave it on the camera. As many have already noted, There is a small bump on the bottom, So it won't mount evenly on a large flat surface.
