PERFECT TRIPOD
I recently purchased the Nikon 300mmG f/2.8 ED VRII lens and found that my lighter weight Gitzo tripod with ballhead was insufficient to handle the 8 plus pounds of lens and D850. I ordered the Gitzo Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod, size Large. Its compact length of 22 with legs retracted is perfect for travel. I use a Wimberley head mounted to the tripod and both function perfectly with the camera/lens. I am 5ft 3in tall. With fully exte... Show More

Splendid
This is the tripod I have been looking for, great design and the extra leg extension makes it an all around tripod. Studio or outdoors this is a great addition to my camera gear.

GT3533LS an excellent tripod
The GT3533LS is a sturdy, stable, relatively light weight tripod. The build quality is excellent. A good match for a D850 & either Nikon AF-S 80-400 mm zoom or 500mm PF (if you can find one). Highly recommended.

Tripod failed. Gitzo no help
Tripod failed. Bushings are bad. Does not work well during weather elements. Gitzo also did not help me when I contacted them about the issue and ignored me when I told them my 600mm $10,000 smacked the concrete because of their flaw.

Great Pro Tripod/ Outstanding Customer Service
I have been wanting this tripod for a least three years now, but it took a while for me to justify the expense. You can imagine my great disappointment when my new tripod arrived and I found one of the leg release tabs broken off during transit. I immediately contacted B&H Customer Service and explained the issue. The CS representative apologized for the experience and quickly confirmed my information for a RMA and credit. I told him I had a plan... Show More

Gitzo Tripod using Arca-Swiss ball heads
Have only had this tripod for 2 weeks, so far so good, one surprise to watch out for. First the quality fit and finish of tripod does not disappoint. Very sturdy, very firm, love ability to go from standing without crouching when taking pictures down to 3 inches off ground (Im 5 10 and with Nikon 810 on ball head I actually need to lower tripod a few inches from full extension). One issue with one Arca-Swiss Ball Head and this tripod: My newer Ar... Show More

Try the Robus RC-5570 as an alternative
I ordered the Gitzo GT3543XLS and was disappointed with the quality control. It had some white (greasy) material on the leg locks you twist with your hands, the box itself was covered in thick dust. Not a great start... Yes, its an amazing tripod. Super tall, very solid and stable. BUT, I decided to explore alternatives, and glad I did. I came upon the Robus RC-5570, so ordered to compare. The Robus is nearly as tall, nearly as stable, built ... Show More

Gitzo GT3543LS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Long
This tripod is everything I hoped for. Its light weight, durable, and stable. Its legs are easy to adjust and the leveling bubble works well. The seemingly high cost is worth it.

Great quality
This tripod is huge. If youre an average photographer its overkill. I do architecture and need to get up high and have a sturdy beast. Its surprisingly light for its size and how high it will go!

Im tall...this fits me perfectly... Im not a huge fan of the wobbly foot pads...they always seem to be in the wrong place/orientation.

Just get it
Ive used a Manfrotto aluminum tripod for more than 7 years but this Gitzo is a huge step up in engineering and quality. Currently using it with a Wimberley 200 and a RRS BH-55 (with lenses from 300mm to 600 mm) and could not be happier. These are once in a lifetime purchases - do it right and do it once.

A precision instrument
Sturdy, light for size. Glad I finally spent the money and got a good tripod. Buy the best tripod you can possibly afford so you wont have to wind up and buy the good one.

Super Steady
I bought this tripod for the extra height it provides and to shoot in windy conditions. It is more stable and resistant to vibration than all other tripods I have used, with the exception of 13+lbs wood tripods I have owned previously (which dont go near as high, are not as versatile, and are much more difficult to carry into the field ).

This tripod is awesome. Rock solid. Legs lock and unlock with ease. Lightweight considering the size. Love it.

Quality and Stability
My first tripod was a high quality, carbon fiber unit good for all-around use and light enough to backpack with. After purchasing a 600mm supertelephoto lens my tripod couldn't hold my lens steady enough for decent photos so I researched heavier duty tripods. I narrowed my search to the Gitzo GT3543XLS and the RRS TVC 34L, both top-of-the-line, excellent tripods. I settled on the Gitzo because it was a little cheaper. I'm 5'11" and my Gitzo will ... Excellent Sturdy Tripod
I needed a very stable and sturdy tripod to support long lens wildlife and astrophotography gear. I initially considered the GT3543LS and GT3543XLS but found the former to be a little too low as I am 6'3" tall. The GT3543XLS extends to a very high 88.5" but folds up just a little too long for me to travel with. I stepped up to this model, the GT4543LS, which, when fully extended, is a perfect height for me. It also adds even more stability without a whole lot of additional weight over the 3 Series. Highly recommended for those seeking the highest quality, stability, and vibration resistance.

The ultimate tripod!
I own eight tripods, four are carbon fiber. Thus is by far the best tripod I have ever owned. I shoot wildlfe, and this tripod handles my Nikon D4 with Sigma 300-800/5.6 admirably. It's a solid piece of equipment, yet isn't too heavy. It pairs well with my Really Right Stuff BH-55 ballhead. I would recommend this tripod to anyone who is serious about their photography, and is tired of searching for the ultimate tripod. Purchase this tripod, and your search will be over.

The best tripod out there for me.
I have just about worn out this tripod's predecessor. It's the equivalent model from about 14 years ago and I've carried it from Patagonia to the Arctic and the top of Denali to the top of Kilimanjaro. It's strong, light and tall. For some reason no one else makes series 3 size legs this long and light. 79" and 5 pounds. Boom. Can you say versatile? That's what this is. Steep hillside? Throw a leg long. Need to see over something? Grab a stepladd... Show More

Built like a tank
My previous tripod was the Promaster 528 carbon fiber, which eventually fell apart after several years. This tripod is substantially bigger and beefier. Of course, it's slightly heavier as well, but the weight is not noticeable with what I am used to carrying. I like that I can carry it around with my camera attached with 100% confidence that my camera won't fall or move. Very satisfied so far. I hope it does a good job holding up over the years.

Great Tripod!!
I wanted a good tripod that would handle any situation that I would come across while shooting, I wanted a bowl and it was a breeze to set-up. The quality and stability are exceptional. I was hesitant about spending as much as I did for the tripod, but know that I have seen and used this quality product, I have no regrets on this purchase. I highly recommend the Gitzo tripod.

Bigger is better
I use this tripod with the 405 geared head for shooting interiors. The most stable tripod I have owned that didn't weigh a ton! I have not tried to raise it as high as it can go but even for everyday uses it beats my Manfrotto carbon fiber sticks for stability.

Rock Solid
Okay, it cost a lot, so it should be "rock solid". I have learned in life that when you buy cheap, cheap is what you get, in most cases. I have had an aluminum tripod by Manafrotto for years, (which wasn't all that cheap, but in comparison to the Gitzo GT3543LS, it was), and it served it's purpose for landscape and macro. But I have started getting into heavy long lenses shooting birds and other wildlife, and I kept beating myself up for not gett... Show More
