On my Series 2 Tripod (2545T), this adapter allowed me to attach the Gitzo G-2020 hook to the bottom of the center column. Unscrew the bottom cap to the center column, then screw in this Adapter. Screw the hook into the adapter.

Received, don't know why but gitzo call the same item M12 and M10 to 3/8 adapter. Bottom line, it's an M12.
