Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 IF ED UMC Lens For Pentax K

Excellent option for lightweight ulta-wide angle lens
Razor sharp lens between f/4 and f/13. Even at f/22 still highly acceptable results. (Measured center sharpness at f/2.8 is poor, worse than f/22). Pictures are color rich. Manual focus and no stabilization are not an issue for landscape work. Handholding during the day is fine, and at night you need a tripod with or without image stabilization. Very light weight. Get's a little more bulky with a CPL filter (3rd party, e.g. Wonderpana). However, ... Show More

I really like it!!!
Amazing shots, just keep the subject matter inside the one third area. Easy to use and lots of fun.

If you want crisp - you got it!
I think that a lenses ability to auto focus and to link with the cameras metering system has become too important and, as a result, some photographers are overlooking some really great glass. A manual focus, manual f stop lens at first look might seem archaic, but give this one a chance. Rokinon has put the focus and money into the glass vs electronics. This keeps the cost of the lens reasonable while keeping the quality of glass high. I've found... Show More

Spectacular lens!
Super cool lens and a bargain for the price. Wanted a 10mm but this exceeded my expectations! Would buy again for sure!

Awesome!
Amazing for the price. I expected it to feel cheap and dainty. It has a wonderful focus throw, and is very sharp. For the price it is amazing. I got a good copy on my first purchase.

I bought this again; excellent lens!
I will primarily use this for night sky and landscape shots. It is an amazing lens for extreme low light/dark sky sceneries. I can also see it being beneficial for realty photography; I can shoot an entire room with one snap. It is a fully manual lens which does not present a problem for me. I look forward towards capturing the Milky Way this spring. I had the Bower version of this lens years ago, did not know what i had and gave it to my sister...My mistake meant new purchase.

Great buy! Great results!
That lense was recommended to me for night sky photography. Great buy, easy to use, crisp image and wonderful results. First time user of achip confirmed focus? Don't worry, it's easy to use.

Sharp !!!!!!!
I bought this Rokinon 14mm few days before new year and I had chance to use it on new year fireworks. It is so sharp lens as you can see at images. I am strongly recommend it for anybody who wants to take sharp images with a low budget and great quality.

Very good performances.
How did I find the lens? Was through the blog of David Kingham, referring to the performance of the lens. Its focus is manual, I use it with a Nikon D7100, and the results are more than satisfactory. Thank you B & H. I recommend the Rokinon 14mm. I write from the Patagonia Argentina.

Great Value & Great Field of View
For the price, this thing can't be beat. It is super sharp and the angle of view (around 115 deg.) is astounding. I got this lens for the purpose of shooting landscapes, interiors, and astrophotography. The 2.8 aperture and the Nikon AE chip means that I can shoot even in very low light. It is a manual focus lens. This doesn't bother me because I mainly shoot still subjects with it. But, someone who is used to shooting with autofocus all the time... Show More

An Excellent Value
I use this lens mostly for landscapes and astrophotography. Although it is manual focus it allows aperture control from the camera. It's lightweight, fast and very reasonably priced.

Rokinon 14mm Ultra Wide
The lens has a very solid construction feel. Rokinon nailed picture image quality @ f2.8 on both FX and DX. Manual focus ring is very smooth and really not a big deal on a 14mm lens. Intergraded lens hood ...No filter capability... Questionable bokeh... Barrel distortion which can be used for creative photography. Hard to compare its price to the big name glass...(really not a bad deal). I returned my copy for a Rokinon 24mm f1.4 lens for Nikon with chip... fits my needs better.

Yes I would recommend this product
I order this lens on 20/dec/16 and it arrived safe and sound on 03.01.17 in Australia, I would say u guys rock for the fantastic delivery. I am testing the lens now and it work fine. this is my first lens where you have to do all the manual changes. but so far so good. Thanks

Wide, sharp, and versatile!
I purchased this lens mainly for architectural interiors. On FX format it yields a very wide angle of view allowing for some very nice compositions. Stopped down to f8 or f11 the far corners are nice and sharp. Color rendition and contrast, are first rate. The complex barrel distortion along the long edges of the image frame are easily removed in Lightroom. Secondarily I am using this lens for astrophotography and landscape work. Great for captur... Dismal Quality Control
The lens assembly was obviously badly misaligned. Focused at infinity, image sharpness at the right of the frame was excellent at all apertures, reducing across the frame to good in the centre to unusable towards the left at any aperture. Returned to B&H as defective. I won't bother trying another example. Too much hassle.

Defective Product
I purchased this lens for star photography but it never seemed quite sharp, so I took it to my camera repair shop to have it tested. Indeed it did not focus at infinity. It will focus at 10 feet. Am now in the arduous process of returning it to Rokinon.

Great lens, but the manual focus takes getting used to. Nicely built. No quality control issues on my copy.

14 mm f /2.8
Its a fantastic lens for star shoots. I do a lot of night time photography and this lens has opened up the skies for me. Its sharp, crisp and captures the Milky Way as I dreamed it would.

Priced well and Good Quality.
I got this for astro photography and landscapes based upon internet reviews. I have an older Cannon DSLR (a 5D MII) and this lens really opens up a photo. I have tested it thoroughly for lens misalignments and this lens appears to be perfect. I'm not advanced enough to really comment on on vignetting and image sharpness, but I've been very happy with results thus far.

Decent lens for the price, but has limitations
By giving up the auto focus capabilities, this lens provides ultrawide angle at a very significant cost savings. At such wide angles, one can argue that autofocus is perhaps not all that necessary, and I would agree with that sentiment, so the lack of autofocus is not the limitation of this camera. Rather, in my view, the true limitation of the camera is how soft the images it produces, particularly along the edges, heck, anywhere except the cent... Show More

Excellent value
I'm giving this lens 5 stars based its value for the money spent. At this price, don't expect it to be as good as the Nikon lens that costs six times as much. That being said, I found this to be a very good lens and certainly up to the needs I have for an ultrawide lens, and I just couldn't justify spending as much as they want for the Nikon lens. I found the lens to perform exactly as Ken Rockwell described in his review and in line with many of... Show More

Not as sharp as I had hoped
I purchased the lens to do some night sky photography. Before taking it out to use at night, I tried using it during the day to get a feel for it. It never really looked sharp for me. I would zoom in to focus on an object and it never really came into focus. There always seemed to be a haze over the entire image. I mean, for $250 I wasn't expecting it to be 100% tack sharp, but was hoping it would be a bit better.

A low cost, reasonable, but not great performer
This is a reasonable, low cost 14 mm lens. As is common with ulta-wide lenses, it has considerable distortion which is partially corrected by Lightroom. Although it is listed as an f2.8 lens, at f2.8 it is at best f3.5. However from f4 on, the f stops appear to be accurate. On my D750 (24 Mpixel) it is reasonably sharp but not tact sharp. The lens is light weight but solid.
