Exactly what you expect
this lens is very wide, great for landscapes. As it is a cheaper lens there is going to be a certain loss of sharpness at the edges but it isn't too bad and works fine for video. Fully manual lense but its not hard to use, especially if you digitally zoom to focus or use an external screen. Overall good lens for the price.

Add Shot Diversity for a Great Price
Works great on slider shots. A bit of distortion on a crop frame, but nothing unexpected for a wide angle. Great for b-roll and just adding an extra look to DSLR video productions. All manual works great for video and the bonus is that we will be able to use it with a passive adapter on almost any camera should we want to switch in the future.

A Great Lens- Perfect for the Great Wall
This lens is incredible, and at a fraction of the cost of the top equivalents. The sturdy construction is perfect for the higher level SLRs, and the output is amazing. I've only begun to use the lens, but the pictures are wonderful with minimal, if any, barrel distortion. Hats off to the manufacturer for such a well-designed and useful addition. One additional point, the focus chip makes for easy use of the lens for P, S, and A priorities.

Still hoping I get a good copy
I have been going back and forth with B&H on this lens. The first copy was unsharp on the left side. They sent me a new copy. Same problem. I just returned the second copy and I'm hoping the third one will be good. Outside of the left side, this lens is gorgeous and very sharp in the middle. I do have some trouble focusing with it, though, as there is no connection at all to the focus confirmation on my 5dIII. This only applies to close focusing.

Unbelievable Value!
I started shooting many 'deep focus' scenes with the Rokinon 14mm Ultra wide f2.8 IF ED UMC lens mounted on my Mark II. I was amazed at the corner to corner sharpness. Although it is basically a manual lens, at wide open, the results was just as good as, if not better than, the Canon 14 mm lens which I used in the past. Vignetting was apparent in still settings but was easily correctable in Light Room 4 or Photoshop and at aperture f11, the vignetting disappeared.

Its OK....
We use this lens primarily for our glidecam /jib setup with a Canon t3i when we shoot weddings, we are generally happy with it however it is hard to nail the focus even when set to infinity + the focus is soft. We used to use the Tamron 17-50 2.8 which video quality wise is much sharper than the Rokinon...oh well can't really expect a lot for this price.

Great lens for the price
At first I was skeptical about buying this lens. After doing the research I decided to give it a try. So far so good. It does take some time to get used to the manual focus and manual aperture settings but that is definitely worth the price.

Excellent lens wish had auto focus
This is excellent lens for the price. performs reliable time again. But I returned the lens for lack of auto focus. I am not a professional photographer but opted this lens just considering price. But I found it difficult to use this lens especially adjusting focus (most of my landscapes I used close to infinity).I would still recommend this for semi pro and pro. I feel the distortion is less compared to other wide angle , sharpness is simply great for the price and certainly something worth more than $ bucks

Definately amazing!
I didnt expected to be that sharp, for a 14mm fullframe it is impressive, I also loved the sunstars at f/22,

Bang for rhe buck
The wide angle is very good but the lack of communication with the canon cameras is a bit frustrating.

A real surprise of a lens
Be warned, it's 100% manual... but if you can deal with that, you will be amazed at the performance of this little lens. I am a prime snob and have almost exclusively L glass. But the Canon 14mm 2.8 II cost is obscene. I read the reviews on the Rokinon, gave it a try and I'm seriously blown away. It's impressive.

One Great Lens !!
This lens is awesome, I have a collection of the best Nikon lenses all 2.8 and this lens is sharper than most of the Nikkors, I bought the one with the chip to use with my D800 and the results are fantastic as well as the manual focus, easy to focus and the manual aperture with the chip it is controlled trough the aperture dial of the camera. The price, what can I say !! , what can you buy with 400 dlls. You will not be able to use filters but then again it is a 14 mm and the front glass is a dome

Best FXUltra-Wide-f2.8 Bang For The Buck
This lens is great for landscape scenery and architectural shots. The 115-degree field of view with an FX camera and with a fast f2.8, wide-open, makes this lens the best bargain; well worth it. I use it with a Nikon D3X, with good results. You won't be disappointed. One minor comment: on my copy, the fit of the lens on the Nikon mount is a bit too snug.

Bad Copy?
This 14mm prime wasn't as sharp as my 15-85mm zoom is at 15mm. I expected it to be a lot sharper. Since a lot of people like this lens I suspect I got a bad copy. It wasn't horrible but for a prime it was bad.

Awesome angle
I use it all the time. I'm always looking for wide angle shots and this lens gets them. I'm impressed at how well it sucks up the color and the images are sharp too. It's a little weighty but I could care less when it takes such quality photos.

Happy with it !
I use it for filming weddings with a Canon T3i on a Glidecam or a slider... love the look and its built sturdy enough, although i wish it had another high f-stop setting(32)..overall though im satisfied

Good value for the money
I've read lots of reviews about this lens before I put the order, and done some of my own tests after I received it. Here are some of my findings: Pro: solid build, excellent optical performance between F4F8, very little color fringing (comparing with Nikon 14mm F2.8); Con: image is soft @F2.8, focal-distance mark on the lens barrel is off, even the focus-confirmation chip does not work well, lens cap is cheap.

Great lens, great price
I've used this lens for a few weeks now on a T2i. My camera isn't full-frame so I'm not taking full advantage of it. I'm sure it's mind blowing on a full-frame though. That said, it's still great to have it. I'll definitely be hanging onto this lens for a while for when I have a full-frame body. This the first fully manual lens that I've used in a while so it took a little bit of getting used to. But that wasn't a big deal at all. I still manage ... Show More

Not bad, but not the sharpest
I like the lens. Can't the beat the price. The only thing I do not like is the hood. It is already attached to the lens. Other than that, it was a great purchase.

Sharper than my Nikkor 24-70
I've been looking to get a Super Wide Angle lens for some time now but the Nikkor 14-24mm lens is just so expensive. When I saw the Rokinon (also labelled as Samyang, but it's the same lens) 14mm with a great price and had an electronic chip in it, I was very tempted! I purchased from B&H and the lens arrived the other day. To some up my impressions so far: I'm *really* impressed.I've placed sample images here but I will discuss below: http://www... Show More

Hard to pass this lens up...
I give this lens 5 stars for a few reasons... Mostly because it's inexpensive by comparison to other ultra widge angle lenses, especially compared directly to the 14mm f/2.8 L Canon lens. MUCH cheaper, obviously. But simply being cheap isn't all this lens has! It's quite sharp, and much sharper than my old 17-40L or 16-35L lenses, and from the various tests I've seen around the internet, it's ALSO sharper than the (much MUCH more expensive) Canon... Good wide angle lens for the price
This is a great wide angle lens for the price, especially considering how hard it is yo find a cheap wide angle for the canon EF mount. With a max aperture of 2.8, it is ideal for low light situations. It does not have auto focus, which was not particularly an issue in my case as i was using it for video. My main complaint about this lens was that it distorts on the edge of the picture frame like a fisheye lens would. It's a subtle distortion, bu... Show More
