Great Tripod.
I use this tripod mostly for for family events and for sports, and so far, it has suited me great, and hasn't disappointed me once. I is very lightweight, strong and stable. It's the cheapest tripod for it's height (although it's still a bit too low for me, I'm 6.7.....) Very easy to extend the legs, awesome quick-release (2 of them included with the tripod), and very sleek design. It has a carrying handle positioned exactly in the middle so the ... Show More

Nice equipment.
I bought this tripod because it was recommended on ... as the one to buy with the celestron astronomy binoculars I bought for my husband. It is great for stability for both our camera and the binoculars. However, some folks on the other website reviews said the 6 foot height was fine for using the binoculars for viewing the stars overhead, but my husband found it uncomfortable to use that way. He did enjoy using it to stabelizing the binoculars l... Show More

I like it
I haven't actually used it yet but I am very satisfied with the quality and features for the price point. Be aware that it comes with 2 quick disconnect mount plates but it must use them. The lower part of the quick disconnect is actually part of the panhead and is not easily removable if you prefer not to use a quick disconnect. Since I plan to attach my camera to this tripod and a tracking telescope mount this is a small inconvenience in that I... Show More

Great deal for the features
5 stars for a great deal for the (very low) price. Comes with 2 quick release plates. Unf., you have to use 1 to mount anything, head just has the plate receiver, no screw. 2 bubble levels, nice. Feels stable at full height (6') for astro work. Lots of plastic, but for light duty I have in mind should be fine. I used it last weekend for a shoot with 2 DSLRs on stroboframes with flashes, the leverage made it hard to get the frame straight, but still felt pretty solid. Good quality carry bag. Overall, a terrific price for a decent-quality item with lots of features.

Plastic connectors snap off in cold
If you plan to baby this tripod, it could work for you. I like to use a tripod in all types of weather and this didn't stand up to use. The first time I took it out in cold weather, the plastic connections that hold on the legs snapped off, leaving the legs unable to support the camera. The pins that connect the supports at the legs also snapped. What I did like were the level indicators and the ability to easily put in the camera and take it out. Too bad it didn't work out as far as real use. Would not recommend.

This tripod is a study in good and bad. Good price but flimsy. Two quick-release plates, but they only work well with a video recorder (still cameras tends to swivel around the mounting screw because the plates aren't faced with rubber or cork). 72 tall but likely to collapse if you brush against it. I gave this tripod to a friend who only wanted a tripod so she could appear in the group photos she takes. I kept the case to use with my new Slik Pro 400DX (which I also bought from B&H, of course).

Highly Satisfied With My New Tripod
I was really looking for a long one when I saw this one on sale and after looking over the specs, I decided to purchase it. I received it intact and in perfect condition from B&H. It's inexpensive, lightweight, stable, sturdy, unfolds quickly, and when I'm finished doing my work, it can be folded away quickly. This is an excellent product. I'm highly satisfied with my purchased. Thank you very much B&H and thank you for the extra Quick Release Plate. I love my new tripod.

excellent product for the price
I bought this to use for an outdoor wedding. I was looking for something lightweight but sturdy, quickly adjustable on unlevel ground, and inexpensive. I am very please with it and plan to use it indoors as well as for travel purposes. I read other reviews which expressed disappointment over its durability and plastic parts but after using it I don't have an concerns. Unless you are in the habit of tossing your gear around haphazzardly I would definitely recomment it.

There are cheaper tripods with equal or greater reliability
According to my order history, I purchased this in March of last year, and it broke a few days ago, in March of this year. One of the legs fell off while I was out shooting on a cold day. The legs get stuck open when it's cold out, and I probably just tried to force them close too many times. I've had cheaper tripods last me a few more years than this one, with more frequent usage. Also, it's sometimes a pain to get the detachable camera mount on and off the tripod.

REALLY GOOD AND STRONG
I recently got this tripod and it is really good than what i expected it to be...it is really strong and looks good too. the lever like thing raises the camera up to 12 inches and it is very useful to raise and lower without disturbing the entire setup.water levels, adjustable bushes at bottom to stabilize it. it got a little handle to carry it while being used.the only thing about it is it's a bit heavy than a normal mid size tripod.but a good one for the price

It worth it, but pay for what you want!
I was reading some other reviews and must say, they were kind of right, at least for me fills my needs but: First: The aluminium is excellent constructed Second: Is cheap plastic and the clamps looks like will loosen themself with hardcore usage. Third: Comes with two plates which is good for multifunction, the quick release is not 100% good but does its job. Final: DO NOT use it for production works, it mere for photographers pros or amateurs.

Worst Tripod Ever
Took it out of the box and put my camera on. I noticed everything was pretty much plastic. I tried to raise the head using the crank and the panhead neck broke and my camera and panhead fell to the ground. My Camera, a Nikon 5100 that I had just gotten a couple of weeks is now broken. Serves me right for buying a cheap tripod, but really, why make a tripod like that if it is just going to break within a few minutes of using it.

Great tripod
The tripod has great quality. It is very sturdy and well built. I love using the crank to raise and lower the camera to help adjust for a great picture. It also comes with an extra attachment for your camera just in case the other gets lost. This is one of my favorite tripods I've used and would recommend it to anyone. It also comes with a handy bag that you can sling around your shoulder so it's easy to travel.

lightweight but weak construction
This tripod is useful to me because it is so portable and light. I use it to shoot video footage of nature in my backyard and local area. The quick-release plate is really handy and works well. Overall I feel the construction and quality could be a bit better. The head doesnt move that smoothly and the adjustments are not as subtle as I might like - but then again its pretty good considering the price.

Easy to use
This tripod is easy to use & comes with a nice carrying case. It comes with two quick release connectors. So, I can connect my camera to the plate and pop it on and off the tripod very easily. There is just a latch to take the quick release plate on and off. Also the tripod legs go up and down with a latch so there's now screwing & unscrewing. Great! I bought two.

You get what you pay for
This is not a good tripod for everyday use. We purchased two for a production class. One was broken out of the box. B&H exchanged it for us which is great. However, I can already tell I will need to replace them before the start of the next school year. They are currently doing the job but I don't think they will hold up since it is mostly glued together.

Incorrect Load Rating Stated!
Pan-head is 100% plastic and there is no tension adjuster for panning up/down. At most the plastic head could support 2-4 pounds and in that weight category there are many cheaper models to choose from. The center column also has a LOT of play when extended even half way out. I give it one star for the nice carrying case that came with it.

More than I expected
It is an inexpensive product for the quality and the features it presents. Performs very well, looks strong, brings a great carry bag, has a great maximum height. A dolly would be a great feature to combine with. The bubble levels work pretty good. Its very stable at the moment you position it and is easy to mount digital and camcorders.

Study Tripod
I am very pleased with this tripod. I use it with a Canon Rebel T6 camera with a 300mm lens. Found it to be very well made and sturdy. Super adjustable and I like the height adjustment.. Some reviews complain that it's plastic and will failure or break easily if handled roughly. Hey, it's a tripod -- not the Rock of Gibralter.

Looks are deceiving
Had it since the summer of 2011. My puppy bumped into it and one of the legs broke off of the base. While it looks and feels sturdy, it is most definitely plastic, the head is plastic. The screws to both tighten and loosen the pan and tilting on the camera can sometimes not tighten properly or over tighten completely.

What a Deal!
Sturdy and tall, just what I was looking for to take some movies for a meat processing course I want to put together for my friends, tall enough to take shots from above the counter. I actually did not expect it to be as solid for the cost. I might even take it along on our trip to the Oktoberfest in Munich this fall

Exactly what I needed for what I wanted to pay.
The head is plastic, but it seems heavy duty enough for my 1300 mm Telephoto Lens. It's a little shaky so I have to make sure to use my remote shutter. I like that it's rated at 20 lb capacity, because my Telephoto Lens with the 2x on it is Long and Heavy, but this Tripod holds it all just fine.

Excellent Buy
I use in small studio set-up for product shots. Perfect for point and shoot cameras, lightweight solid support. I purchased because needed low cost solution with six feet of extension. The head is a little starnge in the way knobs and controls are configured but work fine just the same.

Great Tripod!
I bought a tripod at a local box store and I took it to my photography class. My teacher and I determined that it was not the quality I needed and he sent me a link for this B&H tripod. I am thrilled with the sturdiness and the light weight. It also came with a carrying case.
