The value for money is present, but keys are are not smooth and make noise when you tap them for my normal use!

Meh... it's a keyboard

May 31, 2017

The size of the keyboard and keys are smaller than the Microsoft keyboard it replaces. My original one was worn out, but I liked it better. It was larger and slightly curved. I couldn't find a direct replacement, so I got this smaller one.

Best Choice for a Basic, Wired Keyboard

Mar 28, 2016

Sometimes, it is far better to keep it simple. Use a wired keyboard and avoid the vagaries that sometimes creep-in with wireless keyboards. Hard to go wrong with basic keyboard from Microsoft. If you are a windows user, you are guaranteed not to have to load megabytes of additional driver software and bloatware. Oh, if only it could be sourced locally . . ..

GENTLE ON THE HANDS AND THE EARS

Jul 27, 2015

I read a lot of reviews so my expectations were high. At work I have the benefit of an ergonomic keyboard because the company can afford it. At home, I cannot duplicate it-it is not in my spending plan. So I am very happy to have this keyboard which is gentle on my wrists. I also like that it is quiet, which my old one was not. Add the fact that the price is right and I am keeping B&H on file for any future necessary purchases. - Shipment was fast and well packed as well.

Nice overall keyboard for a great price

Jul 13, 2015

I bought this keyboard to replace a faulty Gigabyte multimedia keyboard. Excellent purchase overall. It has a slim form factor, full 10-key, media controls, and nice keys overall to accomplish workaday web surfing and light gaming applications. For the price, you can't beat it; installs seamlessly with Windows (expected given it's a Microsoft product).

Only 1 button is customizable

Jun 28, 2015

This is a good keyboard, but only the play/pause button is customizable. The other buttons can not be changed (volume up, down, mute & Calc). Coming from the Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard, where everything is customizable, I was suprised. Also, I personally didn't like the feel of the keyboard. The keys were a little flat for me.

Great keyboard

May 5, 2015

So far this has been a great keyboard. I got it to replace the keyboard that came with my computer years ago and had worn out. This one has soft user friendly keys and media control, volume play/pause etc. I was also thought that the price was reasonable compared to other models that I looked at.

Good basic keyboard

Oct 8, 2014

What is there to say about a basic keyboard? Well, it works just fine. The keys offer the right amount of resistance. And... That's about it. Much like a referee in pro sports, the good keyboards are the ones you don't notice.

Wires are still necessary

Mar 25, 2013

Recently I tried to access my boot menu in Windows 7 only to realize that my wireless keyboard device driver is in the OS, not the BIOS. If you noticed those 'press F 10' messages that you see before your Operating System logs in; you need a wired keyboard to use them. An absolute necessity for any 'techie' is a wired keyboard. This one has cool new features over my current wireless board.

Wired Keyboard 600 by Microsoft

I love this keyboard. The key touch is awesome. It is a great keyboard for anyone who is just wanting a simple keyboard that is well organized and a good feel. The button for the calculator is a super addition to this keyboard and saves strokes for anyone who likes to use the calculator on a regular basis. I highly recommend this keyboard.

Outstanding Product At A Bargain Price!

Feb 19, 2012

I ordered this basic Microsoft keyboard to replace an older keyboard. This keyboard is an OUTSTANDING product. It has additional keys for Media Controls and it also has a built-in shortcut to display Windows Calculator on the screen. It has a nice small footprint to save work space. After two weeks of heavy use, I really cannot find anything that detracts from my first impression. With respect to any comments about What things there are that are ... Show More

Great basic keyboard...Inexpensive

Feb 20, 2011

I do a lot of gaming and web surfing. The keys have a nice texture to them, the key board has the larger Backspace key and an Enter key that is not L shaped; my preferred setup. The keys are between a laptop and standard. Only two things make this a 4/5 rating. The F-keys are small, and I would like a better knob on the index finger home keys.

Solid product - good value for money

Feb 8, 2011

Can't complain for the price paid. Keyboard feels well-built and solid. There are obviously more technologically advanced keyboards out there for those who want to splash out, but if you want a straightforward, reliable keyboard that will get the job done, you can do a lot worse than the MS K-600.

A great keyboard at any price

Oct 20, 2010

I do a lot of programming, so I was a bit put out when my last keyboard (something generic bought at a leading electronics outlet) gave up the ghost. After reading some reviews I decided to go with the Wired Keyboard 600 from Microsoft. As it turns out, having my last keyboard die was a blessing in disguise as the new one is very quiet and compact. The essential functions are all there, as well as some others like the ever-useful calculator short... Show More

Amazing Value Even When Not On Sale

Sep 1, 2010

This is a plain vanilla (well, licorice) wired USB keyboard. It doesn't have a lot of extra features. What it does have is a quality feel, with just the right amount of tactile feedback. It is a very efficient size. Uncrowded, yet quite compact to fit on a messy desktop if necessary. Having used it, I think it would be a remarkable value at twice the price--but don't tell Mr. B. or Mr. H. I said that! If that were all it had, it would be sufficie... Show More

Perfect

Jul 6, 2010

For the price this keyboard is awesome. The keys are very comfortable and they are not loud. I do not mind the wire since its connected to my desktop all day. Also the volume and calculator buttons are pretty cool for this being a basic keyboard

Worth hunting this down!

Jan 26, 2010

We use our computer every day for two very important activities: recording music and playing video games (role-playing and FPS). After wearing out a ton of other similarly-priced keyboards, this has been the only one that we will definitely buy again when and if it breaks in a year. The typing feel is smooth + quiet, and the shape is slim without any of the extra media buttons you never need anyway. It is light but feels like a high-end product. Most compact keyboards skimp on usability, but the design on this actually makes it preferable to most full-size keyboards I've owned.
