Great & light bridge camera with powerful zoom
Before purchase of this product I compared a few similar models in this class including Nikons and Canons and this one came out on top. The camera has a powerful zoom and even at full range it doesn't blur and the image quality is excellent. It's also not too heavy with extended zoom so you won't need to support the lense. Overall the camera is lighter than its competitors and autofocus is great. Intuitive settings for beginners and good options for those more experienced. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic camera!
I wanted a "travel camera" with GPS recording and a decent fixed lens zoom. This is a fantastic camera. PROS The weight is 1/2, some nice intelligent features, HD video, amazing throughout the zoom range., wifi VERY easy to transfer to Android deice. Easy to give to anybody passing by , so they can take a picture (over a DSLR). Good quality pictures. A bit noisy, but fine in good light. cons Battery life not great and certainly not as good as specifications suggest. (get a spare battery)

A quality lens makes the difference
As a life long photo enthusist I was drawn to this camera by the ZEISS lens which comes from a well trusted German optical firm established over 100 years ago. It is the best"bridge" camera I have ever come across in it's price bracket. I was not disappointed by the overall performance with excellent resolution even at long zoom setting which is down to the 20 megapixel sensor. It has many features which are all easy to handle and the Wi Fi works well with my smartphone app. A great buy!

Great value and brilliant quality
Don't be fooled by the price. Many camera snobs will tell you that the sensor isn't big enough, and you get what you pay for ..blah, blah, blah. Sony make some of the best cameras around, and this is no exception. The handling is really excellent and the Zeiss lens produces some top class images. If you find all the manual settings too confusing, the intelligent auto setting automatically chooses the correct setting, so even you - yes YOU can impress everyone with your photographic skills!

Great Camera
I bought this camera for a holiday in Cape Town, South Africa. I wanted a camera that wasn't too expensive, but that would handle well for typical tourist use, wildlife and landscape photography on Game Drives and visits to National Parks. I was not disappointed! This camera has an impressive 50x zoom capability, stabilised with the Sony Optical Steady Shot system - this was amazing. I never needed a tripod, and even managed to photograph a bee approaching a flower from about 10m distance.

Excellent value for money 5*
I did lots of research before I decided to purchase a Sony camera. This particular camera offers excellent value for money and in my opinion far superior to any DSLR camera that I could buy for the same money. I've only had the camera two weeks and admit I'm a novice at photography but I am really impressed with the picture quality. The zoom is amazing and I've taken some fantastic shots of the birds in the garden and of our local Cathedral. i thoroughly recommend this camera to anyone!

Not sure
I’ve used the camera serval times now and I’m not sure if I like it or not. I use to have a DSLR so this is so different to use. The thing with this camera is if you don’t hold it dead still then the photo is blurry to bad quality. If you get a photo with a still hand then the photos look great. Hence why I’m in two minds with this. Pointless trying to photograph any fast moving objects as it just isn’t good for that. The zoom is great! You get get so close to animals far away

EASY TO USE
Bought this camera for my wife who has always used a compact and has always taken good photos but she wanted something even better,searched many compacts looking for what she was after but nothing seemed to be just right,decided to have a look at bridge cameras,when I read the reviews on this I new I had found the perfect camera,it takes very clear pictures,has a great zoom which is what my wife wanted for taking bird and wildlife photos,so comfortable to hold and very easy to use

Sony HX400 20MP 50x Zoom
There are enough reviews of this camera out there on the web and YouTube, for customers to compare other models. I had already done this and found Argos the cheapest place including other major online retailers. I also purchased their insurance for the camera which lasts for 3yrs and was the cheapest I could find. (well worth it, considering this camera was to replace a different make & model that got caught out with me in the rain and developed a bloom inside the lens.)

It'll be a great camera once I get the hang of it!
My 1st bridge camera so a lot to learn. I don't think the instructions are very good in the book. I like the onscreen instructions which pop up, but you have to look them up in the book to know what they mean. I've already taken some great pics of the moon, the zoom is fantastic. Not too heavy and good grips. Needs a memory card before you can use it . Very disappointed it won't connect wirelessly to my mobile which is a Samsung Galaxy J56, it says model not supported.

Fantastic product
It is a really great camera I absolutely love it the picture quality is amazing and the zoom means getting close on the subject is really easy and it still looks great, I found the wifi connection really easy once I had down loaded imaging edge mobile ( sony them self said to download it) on android it makes it so fast and easy downloading and the images keep there quality, It is an all round fantastic camera for the price, I'd highly recommend this camera to others.

Fabulous Camera
I do a lot of walking and use to carry a Nikon DSLR with different lenses which I found cumbersome having to change lenses which was also heavy to carry...I had been thinking about buying this camera for a long time, so I sold my Nikon camera and lenses and brought this camera....I am really pleased how easy it is to use and much lighter to carry...I was surprised at the picture quality...Would definitely recommend this product.

Excellent camera
I purchased the hx 400 to replace my previous hx 300 which now resides somewhere at the bottom of the med off the coast of Turkey :( the camera is fabulous with a fantastic 50 times telephoto lens and all the features you could imagine, my friend is a keen photographer and was very impressed by this camera and praised it very highly, I've had other bridge cameras over the years but non that compare to this one.

It's a bridge camera.
The Sony HX400V is a well made nice looking bridge camera with a good zoom lens. Pictures are far from SLR standard and if like me you expect the zoomed images to be good, think again. For close ups it's great, for portraits it's great but the sensor is tiny so those elusive wildlife shots from afar will stay just that sadly. Most people coming from a phone camera or a compact point and shoot will love it.

Lovely piece of kit.
Very nice good quality camera.I had bought a Panasonic Limux fz82 before this but the picture quality was terrible. Images produced on this camera are brilliant This camera is great for wildlife, landscape or portraits. The 50x zoom is superb. Build quality is solid and weight is manageable I'm just a point and shoot amateur but this camera does much! I'm glad I bought it.

Brilliant bridge camera
As well as a very simple "point and shoot" mode there are plenty of manual options to play with. Still discovering new options (the instruction manual is fairly basic). Great step up from a simple digital camera and the 50x zoom in just amazing (even has a clever mode where it takes 3-4 shots to remove mudder and gives 1 Crystal clear shot). Would highly recommend.

Great camera, quality photos
I bought this to replace my DSLR . Very pleased with available functions amd quality of photos. Even at extended zoom picture quality is good (not quite to a DSLR zoom lens but perfectly adequate). The automatic/manual choices match that of modern day DSLRs without the bother of carrying arpund multiple lenses. Overall very pleased with this camera.

My First Bridge Camera
As I'm new to these types of cameras I wanted one that would stand the test of time in terms of picture quality and abilities. I reckon this does the job. Great feature on it is the WiFi which allows me to view my pictures on my smart tv. There are lots of other features which can be a bit confusing at first but overall a good camera.

Sony hx400v bridge camera
I bought this item to replace an older bridge camera. After reading lots of reviews i decided to go for this particular camera. I've used it for about a month now. & now feel I'm getting good results. You need to get into the manual settings a little more compared to my older camera. This can only be good as it will improve my experience.

Great camera, stunning photos!
This camera is wonderful, so many settings and features, takes a while to figure them all out but all pictures come out so well. Only negative is the display screen which only moves up and down, it would be so much better if it would also swing out to allow selfie style photos to be taken. Otherwise I love this camera!

As the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX400 does not shoot raw, it relies on the camera’s processor to reduce noise and subsequently improve JPEG image quality. Thankfully, the HX400 features the new Sony Bionz X processing engine that is found in Sony’s flagship compact system cameras, the Alpha 7 and 7R.

Brilliant Camera.
Love this camera. Already had the HX300 but wanted this one because it has hot shoe. Bought an excellent Sony microphone to go with to enhance the sound quality on my videos. Powerful zoom for a camera in this price range. Very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it.

An excellent camera with sensible, useful and useable features together with an excellent screen and evf make this camera a pleasure to use. Superb photos and HD videos together with a long zoom lens make this my best Sony yet. Highly recommended.

Excellent Camera!
Lovin it as a beginners camera! Not too heavy to carry all around, great and easy features as well. Pictures comes out great! Bought this bargain at argos less £50 so the extras comes handy as well plus got a £10 voucher! What could you ask for?
