Seems good at first but then performance tanks
Write performance drops to 10 MB/sec after big copies (30+GB) which is why I bought this. I don't know if because in RAID mode or not, but performance is spotty and drops to less than 1/50th of what it ought to be sometimes.

Great for a mixed pair of drives
I bought this enclosure to house two drives on a small shelf on the back of my iMac's stand. Right now it holds one SSD for working files, and a spinning drive for a nightly clone of the internal disk. It works perfectly with these mixed drives set to individual mode (no RAID). May repurpose this unit down the road with striped SSDs. Individual indicator/activity LEDs for each drive are very bright (fyi). I have a few of the single bay version of these enclosures for various uses and love them. This one is just as reliable, solidly built, and easy to swap drives as the smaller ones.

A great DIY storage option if you don't have Thunderbolt 3
Great little unit if you have a bare SSD and want to make an external hard drive. If you want a fast connection but don't have Thunderbolt3, this is probably your best bet.
