I use this on my Canon 5D MkIII with a vertical grip. The two prongs on the front seat against the front of the vertical grip to prevent the camera from rotating, which is a problem I had with my previous Manfroto system. The plate is small enough to keep attached all the time.

I love that these plates are available that prevent your camera from twisting. Not sure how durable the plastic tabs will be, but time will tell.
