Really Right Stuff TA-3 Leveling Base with Low-Profile Knob and Platform with 3/8-16 Stud

MPN's:
Makes life easier
Lately I find myself takeing a lot of panoramic images, so when I lost my tripod/head/base this weekend, it was a no brainer to replace it with the same gear what was lost. Leveling the gear with this base takes seconds.

Must have
Bought this to use with my Acratech pano head!! Works great! I especially love the smaller handle, so you can still get low to the ground. Only criticism I have is in the description. It appears it doesnt come with the needed bowl.. but it does. Ended up buying a separate bowl, that will now be returned.

Top Quality Product!
The best brand around for PRS/NRL competitors. The clamp is easy to use and maintain your equipment securely. Easy to adapt in a Leofoto LN 364 C Tripod with 75mm video bowl. The handle is long enough and will allow you to run your tripod as low as possible without touching the ground.

Great leveling base
I wanted a leveling base to help with panoramas and when my old tripod head broke so I could not remove the head, I went full in with the RRS TVC-34L carbon fibre tripod and the BH-55 ball head. I had to do some checking to figure out if the TA3 leveling base would work and got final confirmation from B&H. Interesting that the RRS website doesn't really help you figure this out. Anyways I'm really happy with the leveling base as it does exactly what I want and looks like it is built to last.

Expensive but totally worth it
Although the base is expensive I wouldn't hesitate recommending it. Specially to take panoramic pictures to have the base levelled easily is very helpful.

Works great on Gitzo series 3
If you shoot panos this is a must have. Makes setting up a pano quick and easy. I use it on my series 3 Gitzo tripod and it fits just fine.

You wont regret buying
Yep, RRS gear is really, really expensive however once you get over the initial sticker shock, you will appreciate the quality workmanship that has gone into the product.

Double thumbs up.
Used it in Yellowstone with a Wimberly for the first outing. Now have it mounted below a RRS BH55 & that combo may replace the Wimberly for the lightweight 200-500 Nikon. Wimberly is still better with a big prime but I believe it would still enhance that.

Typical RRS Quality
Fits a Gitzo 3 Series perfectly and the short handled model does not limit the tripod being set up at it's lowest position. I bought this to make setting up my Wimberley head faster and easier. It also includes the 75mm video bowl for other accessories. Great product.
