Just what I needed to fix up a second hand Oben monopod.
I picked up an Oben monopod at the thrift store for $4. It was missing the head. Glad I was able to get this and the plate at B&H. Now it is fully functional. The monopod is great for long shot when you don't want to bother with a tripod. It stabilizes your camera really well in terms of pitch and roll. It helps with yaw as well (to use flight terms).

Mounting Stud
I used this stud to customize a Glidetrack with a 1/4 panhead to make use quick and easy. While the mounting stud works, I had to saw part of it off so that it would glide properly while mounted. I did not use this mounting stud in the conventional way or what it is likely intended for, but it does the trick.

Good Stud
The mounting stud works OK. It could be a little bit longer for my monopod connection. The price was good. I ordered 2 just in case I lose one. However, the shipping container was enormous. It could have been placed in an envelope rather than an 11x9x4 inch box.

It works
I had lost my first one because I stored my monopod in the trunk of my car.... Long story short it's not the best idea. But thankfully fixing my mistake only cost a couple dollars! I ordered this replacement and it definitely works again.

its a threaded piece of metal.
anyone that has worked on home improvement tasks knows that there ARE good and bad quality screws/bolts. this is a good quality bold. does exactly what it does, is long enough on both sides for all intensive purposes. that is all.

Use as replacement on monopod
Pretty straightforward. If there is one available, I probably should have ordered a longer mounting stud because it doesn't go far enough into the top of the monopod and tends to unscrew from the monopod as well as the camera.

Worked Perfectly
I needed to attach a manfrotto disconect plate to a vanguard ball head, and the parts do not pair up nicely. So I cut the 3/8 thread part off of this stud and it worked like a charm. Just what I was looking for!

Not a match for my Sirui tripod
It looks very similar to the stud I lost from my Sirui tripod but I found out it is actually about a 1/2 inch too short, so I'll return it.
