Too small for me
I ordered these trying to come up with a solution for my camera QR plates. The problem I was trying to fix was that I had Quick Release plates mounted to the bottom of each of my cameras and I had to loosen the screw so that I could turn the QR plate parallel with the camera body so that it would fit in my Pelican case. What should've been in the box....
.... of Sirui TY-5DIIIL L-Bracket Plate for Canon 5D III camera. I bought this item to replace the screw that came with my Sirui TY-5DIIIL L-Bracket Plate, which could only be screwed/unscrewed with an Allen wrench hex key tool that I would have to carry with me at all times in order to switch between the L-bracket and normal bracket. If I lost the wrench or was simply in a hurry with low light, it would be inconvenient or even impossible to replace the plate. This little (inexpensive) screw is indispensable! I love it, and every Sirui, or any other L-Bracket Plate should come with one.

Fixed my problem.
I realise this is not what it was designed to do...but I use this screw to mount my Blue Snowball microphone to my GlideGear TMP-50 Teleprompter. The arm that holds the smartphone clips on the teleprompter already has a small threaded portion at the tip, so adding this screw was easy. The shaft is the exact length I needed to go through the arm. It screws perfectly into an Auray adapter. Now my microphone is mounted right in front of me (and out of the shot) and I'm getting much better audio!

A perfect fit!
I had been looking for this item on the web for some time but was unable to find it. As it was not for use with a camera but on a bracket for an antenna, I thought of going to B&H to see if they had it in stock! The lady who was at customer services was extremly customer friendly and took the time to find the part I needed. no need for a wrench
after years of scrambling to find an Allen wrench to tighted the screws on my ACRA plates to connect to a tripod, monopod, etc., the D ring based screw is a huge relief. the D ring fits nicely inside the plate so no interference or problem fitting on the tripod ball, etc. annoying to spend $5 for a screw, though. BandH should include the d ring screw with each ACRA plate it sells.

Insufficient to hold the weight of even the smallest DSLR.
I purchased it to attach my Oben Tripod Head plate to my DSLR and then attach my Black Rapid strap to the D-Ring. Although the screw is the proper size and the D-Ring looks sturdy, it's a miniature of what I need. I couldn't fit the hook on my strap through the D-Ring and I wouldn't trust the hinges on this D-Ring to support the weight of even the smallest DSLR.

Perfect screw!
Screw perfect for my plate arca-swiss brand UniqBall and Jobu Design. Thanks to the Q & A speakers who were able to detail the length of the long screw and the short screw of the same brand (Oben). Fits the Mefoto mounting plate
This D ring fits the Mefoto tripod mounting plate. Absolutely no issues at all. The screw that came with the plate unscrewed and the new D ring went into its place. Same applies to the PU 50 plate that comes as an accessory or replacement plate.

Secured old camera to modern plate tripod.
I have a Mamiya C3 medium format camera and the screw on the plate of my Manfrotto tripod would just barely catch the 1/4 20 hole on the camera, it was not secure. Replacing the original plate screw with this one worked perfectly.

NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS
The listing gave no measurement of how long this item was, so I was disappointed when I saw how small it was, about 3/4 inches long. I thought it was a replacement screw to attach a camera to a tripod head. it's not. can't use it.

In general, it works and convenient.
In general, I like it. This is for my L-blacket and helps remove or put on without a rench. However, the quality of this is not the best. The edge of the screw is kind of sharp and should be buffed. I still recommed this.

Did the trick
I bought this to replace the screw that comes with the MeFoto Road Trip tripod. The original screw needs something to fit into the screw's slot to tighten the plate. With this screw I can do it with fingers.

It's just wat I need.

Thoughtfully designed
Easy to grab, especiallly when in a rushed situation. No need for a coin to turn the screw - which I never have in my pocket when needed.

Fits the Mefoto mounting plate
I was concerned that the D ring would not fits the PU 50 mounting plate. No worries.. Fits perfectly. No issues what so ever.

NO GOOD
The Ring is much to small to clip my Camera strap.My clip looks like a lobster claw,about 3/16th of an inch thick.
