It's strange that such a small object can make a difference but this one does. The original quick release plate for my ball head had a hex head and required an Allen wrench. This makes that unnecessary and the quick release more convenient to use.

Nice Product
I bought this because I had read that the Oben tripod quick release plates came with a hex key only screw. However, when I received my new ballhead I found that it already had this type of screw. No worries though. They are small and easy to lose, so an extra one is good to have.

D-Ring
Purchased these for a quick release for an Oben ball head. The D-Ring is quite small and difficult to tighten without a tool, very hard on the fingers. Found a different D-Ring on @, 2 for $6 with a larger D-Ring that still easily fits inside the quick release and is easy to finger tighten. Quality of metal on this D-Ring is fine, size is just to small.
