Solid, but travels light

Dec 13, 2012

A compact bundle that is easy to carry on trips. The legs are solid for having as many joints as they do. My first ballhead tripod - liked it the first time I tried it!

Great size... no stability

Nov 29, 2012

I travel all of the time, anything from cars and planes to hiking, and this tripod has changed the way I travel! It's tiny, super light, and comes with a padded travel case, what more could you ask for? Well that's where the con comes in... it's not far from being a full size tripod which is nice, especially for its size and weight, but the screw on the quick release plate absolutely will not stay tight!!! As we all know, this is a huge problem! ... Show More

Great Portable Tripod

Nov 27, 2012

Works fantastically as a highly portable travel tripod, folds down fairly small and easy to carry in its own case. Easy and quick to set-up. The two position leg set-up is great when you want a low flat mount and provides a tall enough mount for most situations when fully extended. The end extensions are a little on the spindilly side, but that's only to be expected for this type of tripod.

Terrific Tripod

Nov 20, 2012

Love this tripod. Have a heavy Manfrotto that I have been using for several years - also a great tripod for many photographic situations but not travel or having to carry around from site to site. The MeFoto has solved this problem. Have used it a couple of times and I am thrilled. I purchased a second quick release plate for my 2nd camera. I am so glad I did. I can easily stitch out cameras with ease. This is so compact that I plan on taking on vacation next year. Due to its light weight not suitable for windy conditions.

Awesome

Nov 12, 2012

Its light, its compact, I was suprised how well it fits into my carry-on. I could pull it out of the backpack and set it up in less than 30 sec. The ball head is easy to use and the stand is easy to set-up. The stand itself is a little shaky but i guuess some of it could be overcome by suspending weights. I would gicve it 5/5 for portability and ease of use. If would give it 3.5/5 on stbaility( vibrations).Camera: Nikon D7000 with AF DX 18-105 mm lense

Awesome product !

Nov 11, 2012

I bought this tripod before going on a trip abroad. It fit perfectly in my carry on bag. It is well made, sturdy, and easy to use. I used it with my Canon 5DIII and a 24-105 lense with no problems.

Why didn't I get this Tripod sooner!!

Nov 8, 2012

This tripod is compact - can put it in my backpack along with camera and lenses. I use my tripod for nature shots mainly, using a telephoto lens, and so need stability. It's easy to set up and collapse. The release and tightening components are easy and good.

Great Build, Light, perfect for Travel

Oct 31, 2012

After getting a mirrorless system (Fuji X-e1), I also need a lighter tripod. This happens to be the best companion for me because of it's small size and light weight. The best thing about it is that the ballhead is really sturdy. Just one little disappointment is that the Independent Leg Spread lock doesn't automatically click in.

20 hours of abuse............

Oct 11, 2012

I bought this to replace several previous compact tripods I had no confidence in. I shoot landscapes, cityscapes and a great deal of light painting. Underground, tunnels, caves, abandoned Bldg's etc. My equipment works, they are tools. I needed a compact tripod to hold a Canon 50D and 5D Mark II with L Series lenses to photo an outing on the Hatfield McCoy ATV Trail System. Packed loose in the top tray of a foam filled tool box full of camera gea... Show More

Good travel tripod

Sep 6, 2012

Tripod is small and light to serve the purpose. I have tried my Canon 50D + battery grip + Tamron 18-270mm lens attached at home. There is no problem shooting portrait mode or landscape mode. The only con I have so far is the hook attached below the center column is not easy to pull out.

Awesome little tripod

Aug 31, 2012

Great for traveling; folds up pretty small. Easy to setup. Used primarily for travel; don't think it could withstand everyday abuse with heavy equipment. Used with 5DII with heavy L lenses and battery grip with no problems. Did seem to flex quite a bit when fully extended. Can't be beat for price/usability when traveling.

It is good compromise of size and weight

Aug 25, 2012

I bought it for traveling with my Nikon D700 and lens 24-70. When it use on short legs everything is stable but with full open length it is become a little bit shaky and I am afraid to use it in windy weather. But I am a really happy with quality of the product, ballhead works fast and smoothly.

Benro MeFoto Travel Tripod With Ballhead

Aug 6, 2012

Folds very small and compact- great for backpacks and hiking. Very light weight. easy to set up and fold back down. Many upsides. Only downside is despite fact it lists as able to hold 8.5 it cannot hold a long lens - for example my Tamron 200-500 mm - steady or in a stable manner- there is too much movement with this lens. With my Canon 18-200mm it is great!

The travelling tripod

Jul 10, 2012

The tripod is pretty stable with a DSLR on. The central leg cannot be lowered, but this is not a big deal. The best of it is that it fits everywhere once folded, which makes it perfect for trekking wit it. Good product.

Great Travel Tripod

Jul 9, 2012

This is a very well made tripod that retracts to a very compact size. Seems sturdy, and has quality adjustment knobs and smooth ball joint to get just about any angle. It's light weight but seems strong.

Best money I've EVER spent...

Jul 5, 2012

I purchased this tripod for its lightweight, compact size for a road trip I took to Big Sur and couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. It's a well engineered product that's supper compact yet sturdy enough to hold my Canon 5D Mark III with a 14mm lens. Beyond it's sturdy platform and good looks is a tripod offering great VALUE at it's $ retail price. I would recommend this product to anyone as it's sure to surpass your expectations as a travel tripod.
