Overkill for browsing & email
Overkill for browsing and email, but hey, I wanted something towards the good end. Delivery was prompt. Installation was easy also. The included fan works for me. My PC is snappy. I'm happy.

Good processor
This is a solid, good processor. Unlike the 8700K and 8086K, you cannot overclock it. But I do wish it had the same base clock and turbo speeds as the 8700K. I find it to be good enough for the compact build I built with it.

Excellent performance!
This replaced an i5-6700. Needed the extras cores for software development compilation. No more 100% usage!

Great Value, Cooler is garbage
I hate overclocking. I like my temps low and clock speeds approved by the manufacturer. This said, I thought I could save a few bucks by using the stock cooler as well, since I cant overclock. Temps hitting 80-90c in gaming loads, even 95 during stress tests. Wonderful cpu for the cash, but spend an extra $15-30 on a cooler.

Pure Awesome
Bought this i7-8700 3.2 GHz 6-Core as an upgrade to my system. Replaced the CPU, CPU cooler/fan, motherboard, and RAM. Moving up from an i-7 3770K Quad core, which I never felt the need to overclock. While This rig is mainly a gaming PC, I occasionally use it to do some enterprise excel work and it handles serious number crunching flawlessly. Note that some boards will allow you to run all 6 cores at turbo speed, so even without overclocking you may want to rethink going with the tiny Intel stock cooler setup.

Worked Flawlessly
I didnt do a lot of research regarding the processor that I was going to use for my desktop financial machine. This processor, the ASUS motherboard and the memory went together and worked out of the box. Minor settings when starting up the motherboard bios. This is a snappy fast computer for me...

Smoking Fast
Couldn't believe the difference the new processor made. New board and processor and it's a new computer for 1/4 of the cost of a new computer!

Broken.
The side and back pins were bent on the CPU itself, I was hoping it wouldn't be anything too bad and I tried it out just in case to see if it worked - it didn't. (Not sure why, but I figured by some stroke of luck it would have worked. I payed $300+ for it, I wanted to be sure). The pins on the stock cooler were bent as well, not allowing it to be inserted over the CPU and positioned into the motherboard. (I hadn't planned on using the stock cool... Show More

Getting very hot
Even with a water cooling this CPU spikes to just below 100c at 100% load. Thermal throttling then kicks in and bring the CPU clock back to about 3700 Mhz. It did require quite some tweaking in the Bios to find the balance between fan speeds, temperatures and performance to sort this out. Also in idle the core clock is all over the place jumping from its minimum to maximum clock speeds for unknown reason. Reading on forums this is normal, I guess this CPU is a thoroughbred race horse. I wonder if it will have a long life?

Nice and Fast.
I upgraded my computer with an ASUS prime Z370-A with the Intel Core i7-8700 processor installed. I have an older version of Pro Tools with an M-Box 2 that I like to tinker with and was hoping for less latency. This does the job. Also all my other applications run fast as well.

Great Performance
Although it cant be overclocked it has a really good performance as well as temperature during heavy load!

Awesome... BUT...
I had an i5-7500 and was content, except later I really wished it had hyperthreading. So... after a year... and Ryzen forcing intel to work harder... now we have six-core cpus... WITH hyperthreading... YES~ I was condering i7-8700K but didn't need a cpu to run hard all the time. So I opted for 8700 which goes down to 3.2, which is more efficient for my needs. BUT 12 logical processors is awesome. I'm happy with it, and I have installed on a MSI... Show More

New i7-8700: Great Processor
Recently purchased the Intel Core i7-8700 processor from B&H. Service was quick and had the product within a couple days of my order. Just finished installing into a new system and I'm extremely pleased with the processor. Hands down it puts my older Intel i7-860 to shame. Should have upgrade sooner. Pricing at B&H for this product was much better than other sources I checked out. I've been a customer of B&H for some time and will continue to be.

AMAZING PRICE
I was looking for this CPU everywhere and couldn't find it in stock and if I did find it the price was about $50 more. This is the boxed CPU and the best price around

Fast CPU
The CPU is pretty fast. Best to use it with windows 10. For gaming purposes it works great with an SSD drive and an average video card. The included factory fan is adequate for cooling. There is no need to purchase third party fan. Overall I recommend it for the value, speed and performance.

Great CPU, Bad Turbo
Still giving this a 5 because this is a great CPU, but unless you are running an amazing cooler I would recommend turning off the turbo setting on it. Its not really needed and will keep the CPU colder. I'm running a lower end water cooler and turning off the turbo saved me 10 to 15 degrees. I wish I would have known about this sooner because I was really getting worried about my CPU temp.
