The perfect lens
I debated between this and the 16-35 GM and am pleased with my decision. Since getting this lens it has rarely left the camera, it may be the most versatile lens I've used. It can handle portraits and wides both beautifully. Very sharp, focus is great for video as well.

Outstanding lens
I bought this lens for use on a backpack trip in the mountains . I wanted a wide angle to capture the whole scene and it did that beautifully while being relatively light-weight. The results are sharp and beautiful. Im so thankful to have this lens. It was a joy to use and let me be creative.

Dont get any better than this, if you dont have this lens sell all the ones you have, except 35mm sigma and 55mm zesis and get this one.

What's not to like
I had become impatient waiting for this and had bought the Sigma equivalent, but returned it because of the weight, and because I knew I would always regret not buying the Sony. It was worth waiting for. Small, light, fast, and great for astro. I also do aerial photography, so for lowlight shooting I know this will be great. This image was taken at F1.8 15 sec at ISO 1600 and I'm pretty happy with it.

Great wide angle lens
This GM is really sharp. With the A7R3 I can hand hold at f16. Not ideal in very low light, but have gotten super sharp great depth of field with this lens in low light.

Amazing lens
Undoubtedly one of my favorites of all times. The color rendering of this lens is simple outstanding. Amazing for night sky photography making so easily to take great Milky Way shots.

Sharp and versatile!
The lens is extremely sharp, lightweight and quiet. Perfect for still and video. Easily fits on a gimbal and is small enough to be discreet when traveling. Highly recommended!

Wow, worth the wait.
For the past 6 months the 16-35 GM has been the primary lens on my A7R3 as a walk around combination. The 24mm GM finally arrived after a 3 month wait and it hasnt been off my camera. Its so light and I love the aperture ring on the lens(like on my 85mm GM) and the sharpness of the images are fantastic. Good job Sony!

Great lense
This is overall a great lense. Supper sharp image, lightweight, high building quality, the aperture ring is supper helpful and enjoy to use it. Large aperture helps you express your subject very clearly. Give a lot of opportunity to taking photos at night. Love it.

Clunky
I waited more than a month to get this lens, for a trip I had planned. Was so excited to get it. Initially took some pictures outside and was really happy but then went inside to test the wide aperture. The noise this lens makes in low light is unbelievable. Galaxy shot
Galaxy shot. Seems great so far. Used it on 2 night time sessions shooting at f2 for 13 seconds to stack 10 light frames and 3 dark frames. Im happy with the results.

Well worth the wait!
Love it, well worth the wait... I am by no means professional. I bought this lens for shallow depth and Astrophotography. I have attached a couple pics from my night shots here in the North East. I love this thing!

Sharp and Light
This prime seems to have it all. It is relatively light, and I can detect no distortion or fringing. But mainly this is the sharpest lens I have ever owned.

Not what I expected
I've waited months for this product to arrive so I was expecting my first G series to exceed all of my expectations and quality of existing lenses. But I was disappointed at the lack of sharpness in my photos with many blurry ones to scrap. I have a Rokinon 35 mm 1.4 that I actually think I prefer to this lens! I'm not giving up, however. I've only shot with it about 10 times and will continue to see if maybe there's something I'm doing wrong. If anyone has any advice on the blur aspect, I'm all ears.

one of the most versitile lenses ever
Picked this up a few months back, and yep.. It's as good as everyone makes it out to be. Fast and reliable AF, great for video and manual focus as well. This lens can handle wide shots and close portraits with ease.. I find that it has been on my camera more than I expected it to be. No longer feel the need for the 16-35mm

This lens will allow you to take ridiculously sharp photos. The bokeh is as sweet as the 24mm focal length allows. It's not a macro lens, but focusing distance is far shorter than most non-macro lenses, so you can get pretty darn close to subject and get even blurrier backgrounds. Worth every penny
I was lucky enough to track down one of these after numerous phone calls to every store within 100 miles, and it is AMAZING. Let me put it this way: my wife, a non photographer whos seen many images of mine from other lenses, saw a couple of tester shots from this afternoon when I was editing them and she was blown away. Its not only better in a way that only photographers would notice. Its just amazing. -Jonathan

Sooo sharp and fast!
Love this 24mm lens for a wide range of shooting conditions. It excels in low light and has been amazing when for video paired w/ A7iii on a DJI Ronin-S. I split time between this lens an 24-105mm when I need the extra reach.
