Excellent add-on
Have fairly large hands and this improves the grip for me without adding much weight. Most outstanding feature is battery can be replaced without removing the plate.

Versatile und sturdy
Very sturdy and well crafted. It can also be attached to the A7RII, but then the battery-door doesn't fit, but the L-Plate holds both cameras firmly

Another Great product from RRS!
I bought this for my Sony A7R3 and it fits perfectly. It gives just enough room for my pinky to have a place to grab. I can plug in my remote trigger but it is a little bit hard to get it all the way in, but can be done without loosening the side bracket. All in all very happy with this unit.

You get what you pay for.
RRS charges a premium and delivers. I was financially tapped out with the purchase of my XT2 and nearly purchased the Kirk L bracket but in the end went for the RRS as the bracket covers the entire bottom of the camera. No regrets, RRS makes the best. They're the most well thought out products in their realm on the market.

Enhances handling
Not only does this provide an Area Swiss compatible mounting plate, it adds about 1/2" of vertical height and a small bit of weight to the base. It is beautifully shaped with rounded edges unlike inexpensive alternatives. I prefer using this at all times. I must say that I think the vertical plate sold as an L-bracket package is unrealistic in its pricing. But the base plate itself is worth the money.

You get what you pay for!!
The RRS L bracket for A7ii set lives up to the hype, its a superbly engineered bracket. If you want the best you have to pay for it, but its literally worth every penny, I just wish RRS products were more a accesible the UK, but with BHPs superb service its no great shakes to order online, I ordered on the Sunday, the package arrived on the Wednesday! Thanks again for your great customer service.

great accessory for a7riii
I love the L bracket. It is extremely well made and fits well on the camera and I keep it on. I have no objection to the battery door having to be taken off and attached to the plate. It appears to seat as well as the original door did on the camera. It is pricey but I think on the whole a good bargain.

Perfect fit
Just like what the brand name is, Really Right Stuff, literally. Very useful and improves the grip when holding the camera. Well thought of design which includes an allen key to adjust the L-plate. A got to have item for A7Riii users.

Be sure to read correct reviews, as most of those listed are for numerous other camera models other than the A7rIII. That said the description states a modular design Base plate with vertical bracket. This is not the case. Its one solid piece. Also, and very important to myself, it also lists it has having an independent 1/4 thread for accessories- which it does not have. Not Impressed
The RRS L Bracket Fits well and seems to be designed properly. The issues I have are. 1 it took way too long to get, no excitement left in the purchase experience. 2 the price is too high for what you get, by maybe 40%. It feels like RRS is taking un-fair advantage of the A7R3 and A9 owners. 3 no free freight, are you kidding me, I expect that a 300 dollar purchase on two very small items should be shipped free freight. Like I said, I am not impressed.

Pricey but worth it
Really Right Stuff in general is on the high side. However, it's solid and works. The X1D is so portable that you want to walk around with it sans sticks. But, get it on a solid tripod and drop that ISO for razor sharp pictures makes a visible different. This L-Plate does a great job of securing the camera. Other than Price what is there not to Love?
It is almost embarrassing writing a review about a piece of machined metal. I do love it - it works, it is "pretty", and it is not all that much more expensive than other options that are readily available. I was more impressed with the buying experience with B&H. I live in NE Thailand. I ordered from B&H over the Internet. Shipping costs were reasonable. I was able to track the progress of the item all the way from half a world away to my door. The item arrived on the date as promised (5 business days) and better yet ... without any duty.

Great product
Great fit. Very solid construction. With the slide snug to the camera body, I can open all of the side ports with my fingernail. If you want to thread cables thru the slot provided, however, you will have to loosen the slide while you thread them through. I use a wireless remote release instead of the cable release, so I do not have this issue. Works with both my RRS and Gitzo ball heads.

Flexible
Wanted a perfect fit to my body with the flexibility to disengage the plate and this was the best option of the limited offerings. Great build quality. Solid construction but questionable battery door weather sealing
Like all RRS products the build quality & finish is solid. Im sure this bracket will outlast my camera. The bracket also feels pretty comfortable in the hand as it provides a spot for your pink to grasp/rest on. The issue I have with the bracket was the moving of the battery door from the camera to the bracket itself. Fits like a glove
I was torn between this plate or a generic plate off amazon for half the price and I am glad I went with this one! RRS really knows their stuff and it hugs the 80D perfectly, making sure everything can be nice and centered when I need that sort of accuracy. The vertical portion of the L plate is sized so all the ports are easily accessible while its attached.

Just got a Sony A7RIII from B&H and needed to update my L bracket. I opted to purchase the RRS one even though very pricey. It fit the camera very well. It added additional "holding area" and is very easy to use with the Sirui Arca-Swiss ballhead. I keep on the camera all the time unless I am intending to primarily handhold when I add the Sony vertical grip. RRS great Quality
I bought the RRS angle bracket because the Sony A7Rii camera is very small and I have very large hands. I didn't like having 2 fingers hanging off the bottom of the camera. It gives me greater stability with heavier lenses, not to mention a very stable lock with a good tripod head.

These L-Plate Sets are Indispensable!!!
I have previously purchased RRS L-Plates for a Sony NEX-7, an RX1-R, and an older Nikon DSLR. They are perfectly made and fitted, best quality without a doubt, and make tripod use of these cameras quick and simple! In addition, they are very attractive and give that extra needed heft and protection to these digital cameras. This new alpha A9/A7RIII model is equally excellent and provides that same feeling of security, durability, and confidence as the others. A solid product which, although expensive, is the very best!

Adds more grip and heft to EM1 MkII
This base plate adds just enough grip area, making for a more positive hold on the EM1 in my hands. The extra weight of the base plate also helps balance the Olympus 40-150 f2.8 lens and teleconverter. You also know that once tightened into place the plate is not going to slip or turn. A great way to quickly attach the camera to an Arca-Swiss style ball head.

Better Grip for bonus..
This base plate is very well made. good finish and light weight. Adds a nice extended grip to my A7ii. You can remove the battery cover and attach it to the base plate. Pretty cool!! Also fits nicely on my current ballhead too!!
