This thing is sturdy. I enjoy that all the knobs and feel like even after a lot of use they will not get loose on me. This is a strong construction and i feel safe when i place my camera on this at the angles i use it for.

Perfect balance between portability and sturdiness
I use this for landscape shoots which are usually long exposures, and usually carry it around on my backpack. The center column is just great! Changing it from vertical to horizontal is so easy. It's not as light or compact as I wish for travelling, but it's the compromise I get for also going after stability.

How to Get the Grip Back
I use this with my Nikon D700 and flash mounted on it. The friction knob is turned such that the red indicator is about at the half way point. Now in order to maintain the grip, especially when the camera is set an an angle you must adjust the allen wrench screw that sits near the red friction indicator. It will help maintain camera position without adding any more friction. If not, get the head serviced. Hope this helps anyone here who mentioned losing grip after some use.

LOVE IT!!!!
This is my favorite tripod that I have ever used! this is a must for any photographer at any level!

Sturdy and easy to use
The tripod is very sturdy and easy to use. The kit also includes the 3 way head and the bag, all in good quality. Although the aluminum is slightly heavier than the carbon fiber, it's just 0.5kg difference. Would recommend this to anyone who does not need to carry it to travel every day.

solid support
Very good quality tripod. Great height without extension and is tall when extended. Perfect for me at 5' 11. When I need to use the extension (I know purists say its a no no) it is solid, I use the timer and I get the shot I need. The extension flips so you get many different perspectives of your subject which is very hand in landscape photography. It also lets you get low to the ground. The only downside is weight, I use it with a Kirk ball head... Show More

Worth Every Penny.
Okay, Im 6'2'' and this tripod comes up to me without having to hunch over. Love it! But if I want to lie on the ground and shoot this tripod can do it as well. The (4) that's right 4 bubble levels insures that anyone can take a level shot. Has a hook for hanging a sandbag if needed. For some heavier lenses in windy areas that hook will come in good use. Haven't had the chance to use the 360 degree tilting center column. This function alone would... Show More

Great Pro Tripod
This is my first good tripod, and I could not be happier. Extremely sturdy, adjusts very quickly, and can be put away in a quick manner. I use it for automotive photography and I don't think it will be letting me down at all. Definitely a pro-level tripod.

This should last many years.
I bought this Tripod to replace a very old Aluminium Manfrotto 055 which is still usable except the replacement clamps are not exactly the same as the original. This Tripod is half a kilo lighter and has features which I required.

Fantastic product!
My first experience with Manfrotto was when I purchased the 504HD Head w/546B 2-Stage Aluminum Tripod System a couple of years ago. I use a Canon FX105 and this tripod is much more than capable of handling the weight that my system requires... an awesome product for sure! I love their engineering, It is velvety smooth in all axis of movement. I find it funny when I am surrounded by remote broadcast TV video crews when their tripods/heads have les... Show More

Great product with high quality.
This tripod is very sturdy, easy to use, quality built. I looked at available tripods for a month and liked this Manfrotto the best. I have not been disappointed.

Very good tripod for the money.
Was able to pick this up and swap heads between my monopod and this unit while on location (very easy to do). Sturdy and well built for the price. Only 4 stars because I do wish it had a bubble level built in to the unit.

It has good and bad features
Rock solid tripod but it has several issues that need to be addressed. It uses a spring retaining clip washer to keep the center section from pulling out of the tripod. The retaining clip has fallen off and the whole center section then pulls away from the legs. It has happened twice now, once in the dark in Iceland and yesterday again in a studio. Fortunately I was able to find the clip both times and reassemble the tripod. I am considering repl... Show More

Great all round grip
This is a great all round grip and it holds my cameras and lenses well. I use it mainly for macro at present.

Poor product
I bought this about a year go with the aim of having a smaller, lightweight carbon tripod. After of a year of intermittent use, it's literally falling apart. In the field yesterday I thought it was a bit loose and the top assembly simply pulled right out of the vertical post. It could have dumped my camera and lens on the ground!

WOW great piece of equipment
I bought this tripod for landscape photo, I love it. Great finish quality, works smooth, really stout a little pricey but worth every cent, i was expecting retractable spikes/rubber feet to be included, but no complaints.

Sturdy
I use this tripod to video sporting events of my family and friends. Very sturdy and easy to use. It is very sturdy and easy to use but that comes with a price and that is not so great.
