Very Hot Macro Lens
I love this lens because of high quality mixture between Portrait and Macro. The stapilizer really make this lens easy for use without Tripod and to make sharp images. In the end this lens deserve the price for it because of high quality (sharpness,body,size,wieght,G type)

My first Pro Lens, worth the wait!
Got it from B&H on first day of release. I'm using my new Sony a6000 to do my test shots. A7R-II is shipping from B&H 8-5-2015, can't wait! So far I am thrilled with this Sony G 90mm Macro. Worth getting if you have a need, or like me just like the fun of it!

Worth the Wait
I strongly considered getting a non-native lens and an adapter; but I'm glad I waited. I have never shot macro before, so I'm getting used to the narrow DOF and camera setting you need to get a sharp image. I've taken a few portraits with it and 100% crop are tack sharp, can see the pores on the skin. At macro...I'm a novice and getting used to the lens. The build quality is almost as nice as my zeiss 55mm, so far after about 300 shots with it I'm thinking im gonna love this lens.

The Lens I have Been Waiting For All My Life
I am a portrait and macro shooter, now using the Sony A7R camera. This lens comes as close to perfection as I have ever seen with color and contrast that is great. The resolution in both distance and in the macro range is outstanding and the best I have ever seen in a lens. It is sharp wide open until f/11, losing some detail at f/16 due to diffraction. In a full face shot, detail is clear in the eyelashes and careful spot focusing is necessary for best results.

One of the best Macro lens available!
The lens is simply beautiful. If your passion is macro photography this lens will answer your needs. If you want to use this as a standard 90mm lens, still this lens could deliver a tack sharp images comparable to the 85mm lens. The G line lens of sony is really a top quality lens. Probably Sony's sharpest lens
One of the 1st things I did when I got this lens was to drag out one of my 2' x 3' ISO 12233 charts to check for concentricity. I was stunned. The lens was perfect from the center to all four corners. Better than that, it appeared to out resolve all my other Sony lenses: 35mm f2.8, 55mm f1.8, and 70-200 f4.
