Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon F

Fantastic Lens
I purchased this lens to hit the other end of the photography spectrum in order to highly complement my super-telephoto lens. The Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM Autofocus Zoom Lens is a must if you are interested in landscape photography. The field of view from the lens blows my mind. Although the front glass element of the lens itself is curved, the lens still enables you to attach filters to the front. It is lightweight, high quality, and provid... Show More

Very pleased!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, with this lens I could fill a library. I am very happy with the results.

great wide angle with great distortion
Price/weight/quality are good. Don't really expect to use it for interiors shot. The distortion is preventing close people pictures. Good for landscapes and far away shot.

Really good wide angle lens with miminal distortion
Great lens for the price. I purchased this as an alternative to the pricier Nikon version and for the money is a very good lens. I use this as a primary real estate lens in tight spaces.

Awesome Lens
Bought the lens in NYC. It was the best choice for city portraits (especially when the buildings are so tall). Lovely NOT eye-fish effect. Very fast autofocus. Very accurate pics.

Handy Lens-Great Price
I've been working with this lens for a week now and am glad I have it. I bought it for a very specific use. I shoot real estate video on my D750 & needed something wider than what I already have. Only complaint is about myself/user error. I did the first few shoots with my camera set to FX (full frame). It had quite bit of a vignette/bowing problems. A quick Google search and a few minutes of practice and I'm happy with it. It does exactly what I needed it to do.

Great lens.
I researched wide angles for my D7000 for weeks. I finally decided on Sigma. It was a great choice.

Excellent ultrawide
This is my first ultrawide lens and I bought it used from B&H. It's well built and it allows me to explore the world from a different perspective. I have no complaints!

Great lens
I've had the lens now for a couple weeks and it works great. I had concerns before I purchased it about focusing in low light but the auto focus in low light works perfectly and quickly. I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to others.

Fantastic lens for the price. Almost unbeatable.
This is a sharp, clear lens with a fantastic fixed f3.5 throughout the full range of the zoom. The focus is crisp and accurate. Wide open I get a wee bit of banding in bright blue sky and the 82mm filter size is a bit of a bother but the lens is capable of fantastic results and I love it. f3.5 is still not quite perfect in terms of astrophotography but the extra wide 10mm aperture produces very sharp images with only the slightest hint of loss at... Very nice especially for the price
I just purchased this lens, so I have very little experience with it. I gave it four stars because so far, so good. From the early results, it looks like it will fill my wide angle lens needs just fine, but I can't see giving it a perfect score. Not yet at any rate. That may come later through use. I do want to point out some things that a buyer needs to know before purchasing this lens, though. First, the lens autofocus only works on Pentax came... Show More

Good, but not great.
I chose this lens as my first wide angle lens based purely on price/value (25% discount off of the regular price, very good specs), and after carefully considering all the reviews. The reviews that specifically mentioned the soft focus issue made me hesitant at first, but I figured I could handle that in the edit, so I took the plunge. After shooting several sets of photos in various locations and situations, my impression is that, while the focu... Show More

changing my previous rating
I previously posted a one star review for this lens because it would not open up to 3.5. Max aperture seemed to be 4.0. Well now I've discovered that somehow the settings on my Canon 7d Mark II limited the range of any lens to 4.0-32. Now that I've gotten rid of this restriction, the lens works great. My apologies to Sigma & this product!

What a Fun Lens
Using this sigma on a D750, yes in crop sensor mode of course and a D7100. This is a very fun lenses that has it's place and produces excellent shots. I had the older 4.5, sold it to upgrade to the new 3.5. Thought to go to a true full frame super wide, but this lenses for the price and the percentage of time I use it, It's great. Gave this product a lot of consideration and choose the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 wide angle, I am very happy with it and it does a great job.

Not f/3.5! Only stops down to f4.0
This is the second sigma f3.5 10-20 lens I've tried this past month. Although it is advertised as allowing f/3.5 at any focal length, these two lenses only stop down to f/4.0. Talked to sigma & they say they must be having a manufacturing problem. Guess i'll have to return this one too. Paid a lot extra to be able to get f 3.5. Not worth the extra money if this is now false advertising. Time to go back to a canon lens!

Great lens!
Bought this for real estate photography and I love it! Crisp lens. Nothing bad to say about it at all!

Good but not great
Hum my copy of this lens does produce softer images relative to my 'plasticky' Pentax DA 50-200, my Fuji X100T, and even my tiny Lumix LX5 with a CCD that's 1/8 the size. The focusing is also a bit slow. However with the Pentax's 12-24 which is made by Tokina and with screw-drive focusing, I'm not sure it's worth paying the extra $$$ as well. Don't get me wrong it still produces spectacular images with no noticeable (to me) vignetting it is a goo... Show More

Great lens at an even better price!
I had multiple people come up to me while shooting the first day I bought the lens and tell me it is their favorite lens they own and they were all right.I bought this lens instead of splurging on the much more expensive Nikon lens and I could not be happier with it. It's great for photos and video and compliments my other lenses well. I use this Sigma along with the 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses and a 35 MM Nikon lens with my Nikon D3200 and after... Show More

For when you cannot backup any further
I use the lens for landscape and architectural photography. It given me a wider field of view than I can get from my 16-300mm zoom. Also, while I have not tested it, I would guess its optics may provide a better picture at the 16-20mm range than the other lens. Used it several times in a recent trip and it worked flawlessly. It is the only lens of its weight that I own which does not have vibration reduction, but has not been a problems so far.

Excellent Lens!
I'll keep this short and simple - if you want an ultra-wide lens for your Pentax K that is NOT a fisheye, this is what you want. For the price, it cannot be beat. The Pro's - excellent build, and excellent Glass. There is a little tiny bit of softness at 10mm wide-open, that sharpens-up quickly at 5.6 and above. Think about this - if you are a hobbyist (I no longer shoot Pro), then it's probable that if you're shooting at 10mm wide-open, you're pr... Show More

Great lens for mid wide angle
Using this lens for landscape is a added dimension to wide angles. Keeping the lens within its sweet spot helps, 14 to 18. At 10mm it is soft on the edges, but can be cropped to produce very good photos. At 20mm, it is not as good as when in the sweet spot. Overall, a very good wide angle for price.

Landscape Lens I was Looking for
I have had this lens only for a short while and so far it is taking lovely pictures. Where there are problems, it is clearly operator error--takes some getting used to because it's very different from what I was using before. I have some vision issues that make focusing on manual tricky. And I'm very picky about results because I enlarge and frame for exhibit. One thing I've noticed is that I do not see any sign of vignetting with the polarizer f... Show More

No major complaints from me
Solid lens for the price, as usual it would seem coming from Sigma. The ultra wide 10mm focal length, decent zoom range, constant aperture of F/3.5, and satisfying image quality makes this the lens I most highly recommend for you APS-C users out there. The images towards the edges are quite soft at the widest aperture so if you're taking a landscape and want everything pretty sharp I'd go to somewhere around the F/10 mark. For close ups though, I... Show More
