Print File 35mm Archival Storage Pages for Negatives, (25 Pack)

Good quality archival sleeves.
These are very good sleeves for archiving negatives. They aren't the absolute best, but they are still archival quality (if you're archiving Ansel Adams's shots or something of similar importance, then you'll want to use polyester, despite the propensity for static build-up). They come in very well thought-out packaging. Instead of using cheap plastic, they use the same material that the sleeves are made out of, so that no harmful chemicals leech... Show More

Not the best. Probably won't buy again.
1. There are 7 rows to fit 5 frames. That's 35 frames. A 36X roll has well, 36 frames. Sometimes if you are careful while loading you might get 37 or 38 frames. But anyway, you have to use at least two sheets to hold 36 frames. A whole sheet wasted to store just one frame!! 7x5=35, 6x6=36. They could have made it 6 rows of 6 frames. It's simple math. Who designs this stuff??2. The material is some kind of plastic that the film doesn't move very e... Show More

Great for storage and contact printing
These storage pages are awesome for archiving, organizing, and contact printing your negatives. Just as advertised, I can contact print my negatives without taking them out of the page. Be mindful of the size you get. the 6x6 pages will only fit fully on an 8.5x11 paper. While you can get it, it's definitely not common printing paper. Another tip; trim the very edge of the leading edge off the film going into the sleeve so that it's not square (round it off if you will). This will allow the film to slide in very easy and not get hung up as you try to insert it.

Quality, convenience, ease of use
Over the past 20 years I've used about half a dozen different negative file holders. Once I undertook to scan all my negatives, I felt it was time to reorganize and rearchive all my negatives. I used hundreds of these print file negative archives - I like the ease of use - simple to insert and remove negatives - and at both sides of the negative file, there is about 3/8 of an inch of unattached plastic, which makes it easy to get your fingers in to grasp a negative and remove it - a very important touch which greatly improves useability.

Printfile 'nuff said.
I have had the unfortunate experience dealing with off-brand negative pages this semester, and I must say I had to rebel. I've used Print File for the passed 6 years and will never stray. These are wonderfully consistent, the negatives slide in easily, and are easy to remove. The strips are always the exact same size, so there's no issue with the top row went in just fine, the second row is loose the third row won't go in...gahhhh So, in summary, if you are smart, you won't buy anything else except Print File..LOVE

Excellent
These are the only storage pages I buy. They are excellent, offer (from my experience so far) wonderful archival quality, and are very clear. They are perfect for sleeving negatives and making contact proofs. Yes, they only hold 35 frames, but the convenience of being able to fit the whole page onto an 8x10 sheet of paper for a contact sheet is invaluable. Also wonderful is you can write on the label area at the top, and it will transfer to your contact print, making it easy to identify a proof print.

Very Useful
These negative sleeves work really well for storing film, and also work really well for printing contact sheets if you want to do them yourself. I bought them for storing film for a school project, and the binder holes work really well for storing everything in a binder. The only thing is that if you have a roll of 36 exposures, they don't all fit on one sheet, but I don't think that is something that can be fixed because of the size. Overall, they are really helpful and a great way to store film!

its fine but..
it is okay if you are just thinking of buying like anything that can hold a negative.. but i think the sheets get scratches (on the outside) easily, and i wish i had gotten a little bit thicker one? (like the sleeve itself is a little flimsy..) and you know how the negatives have the curve, so it gets quite annoying when u have to put those in the binder (because they roll up.) I would say if I had to get another set of sleeves, i would spend a little more money and get the better ones.

Great storage for old negatives
I had tons of old 35mm negatives stuffed in paper envelopes from countless photo processors. If I needed to find a negative, it was like finding a needle in a haystack. After purchasing a film scanner, I bought these archival pages and started (slowly) organizing my negatives into a binder. The pages are clear and hold 7 strips which is good since most processors cut up my 24 exposure rolls into 6 strips of four with one shorter strip. A great buy for what I needed.

cheap plastic
For basic storing of negatives this is great however placing negatives I found difficult as sharp edges of my negatives would cut through the plastic sleeve or scratch it making it even more difficult to slide in time after time. Also I didn't like the coating on the top for writing. It's great that it's there but should be a different coating so it doesn't smudge with most pen mediums. I just made labels to put on instead of writing after several illegible sheets.

Archive your negatives safely
Does exactly what it should, which is to safely store strips of negatives. These fit in any normal binder and are reasonably easy to load and unload. You can make contact prints on 8x10 paper, or make quick scans to produce digital contact sheets without removing the negatives from the sleeve. A strip of 5 frames fits with a little room to spare at the ends, so the negative is completely protected. I haven't had any trouble with these.

I bought this product & had to buy more
I had 21 years of negatives that I needed to get organized and with this product I was able to do so and do so in a timely manner. I even ran out and had to purchase an additional package. I used these so that I can store and be able to find a negative when I need to. I have an upcoming picture project that I will need to find negatives fast for. I recommend this project to anyone who has years of negatives that need to be organized.

Grrrreat, just like Frosted Flakes!(:
This product is wonderful, it does exactly what i needed it to do. This product is helping me in my first photography class dealing with film by protecting my original film prints. This product is indeed exactly what i was looking for, it had a great description of the item, so i knew what it was when i was ordering. I have no problem with this product what so ever, it does exactly what i need it to do. It's great!

These things really work
Besides being quite handy, these things really help protect your negs. I recently had opportunity to scan a bunch of Tri-X negs I shot in the mid 1970s while working for a small newspaper. We routinely put all our negs in these same sleeves. They scan, and would print great after 40+ years, but you can see some degradation on some strip ends where they stuck out of the sleeve and were unprotected. I'm convinced.

Negative holder
When i first started using these i was shooting 24 exposure film so a whole roll would fit in one sheet. Well now for my college class we need to use 36 which means it takes up two sheets. Besides that small inconvenience I've never had a problem with it. in fact I've a small amount for quite a few years and they still are in rather good condition and the negatives are perfectly fine.

Good Sleeves
These are pretty decent quality for the price, I know some of them can get a bit ridiculous. But they work just fine for me, though it's a bit difficult sliding the film in and out. However, a quick fix to that is snipping a small portion of the corner on either side, and it slides right in and out easily! Plus its really nice that the sleeves are open on both ends, very convenient.

Not bad!
I bought this for my first film photography class. It's perfect for what I need - a place to store my film & to make contact sheets from. The only downsides are that: 1) It's a bit finicky when it comes to adding/removing film strips (but it does keep them in place!) 2) When making contact sheets, the description doesn't fit onto the standard 8x10 Otherwise, great product!

Just not a good product
I bought these after reading other reviews and these pages seemed perfect. A space to write on each page and the ability to make easy contact sheets. Unfortunately, they are just bad. Getting negatives in with gloves on is a pain as they snag. There are only 35 spaces on each page when I regularly get 38 negatives from a roll. Just a bad, bad product.

Very easy to use!
I've used slips for negatives before that made you cut up each negative one by one and slip it into individual slips instead of having a long space for 5 connected negatives. It makes it faster and easier to use. The only thing I'd say that's bad about it would be that the plastic curls pretty easily causing the negatives to bend somewhat.

A tight fit
+ Good material +/- Too many holes punched in the sides. (not as pictured) Accommodates two different kinds of binders. Makes it a bit less friendly to the standard 3 ring binders. - There is BARELY room up/down for the negatives; it can be hard to get them in and out. - Won't accomodate a full 36 exp. roll unless you burn a couple.

Yep, they store negatives alright.
I wanted some sheets to store old negatives that I had in boxes and these do the job. The only minor issue I have is that they are pretty wide. I am just storing store developed film and didn't cut the negatives myself. The sheets will fit 5 frames wide and everything I have is cut at 4 frames, so there is a lot of extra space.

Fine work for a storage compartment
I love this product, so good for the binders and are not too extended for the binders just the right for the pack. The storage protects the negatives from folding, yet it is hard to put the negatives. Its a bit to handle to put the negatives but its a great product just for the right price. I WOULD RECOMMEnD THIS TO A FRIEND.

Good archival quality sleeves
3 stars because I feel the manufactures forget that 35mm film has 36 exposures and not 35 exposures. I know it is common that a photographer may have one bad negative, but that is not something which should be taken for granted. Need to come up with innovative ways of archiving the 36th exposure without damaging the other 35.

Not convenient
I don't like it for my use. I scan my own negatives and prefer to cut them six frames per strip. That's the maximum that accepts my Epson scanner and fit exactly for a 36-exposures rolls (6 X 6 = 36). But these pages accept only 5 frames long strips. A 36 exposures roll would need to be cut in 9 strips of four frames.
