MK190XPRO3-BHQ2 Aluminum Tripod with XPRO Ball Head
I've never owned any Manfrotto product. These tripod and ball head are very sturdy and well built. I travel to the far east quite a bit and need to bring this tripod. Due to its nice weight I will be removing the ball head and packing it with my luggage while carrying the tripod using the Manfrotto shoulder strap. It should lighten the load with my other camera gear.

Very stable tripod
I bought this for night photography, and is much more stable than my lighter travel tripod. I have only used it twice, but my pictures are much sharper. I have a Canon 5D Mark III, and typically use the 24-105mm L lens.

Love it
This is a great solid tripod. The head works just as you would want. Very stable. Very flexible for all kinds of shooting-- from Astro to Macro to landscape to long exposure. A great versatile unit.

Very sturdy, secure tripod.
I use it with my 70-200 lens which weighs, with body, 5.3 pounds. The tripod is fantastic with ground levels photos using the center column which extends up then out (horizontal). I have no problem using on a windy day and feel secure that my camera will not fall. Locking legs are easy to use/adjust. Super fast set up! I also bought the Hakuba PSTC 100 Medium Pro Series Tripod Case to carry as it fits perfect.

Exellent Tripod
Very strudy, not heavy considering the weight it can handle. Amazing the configurations that are possible

Five stars!
I love love live this tripod and head. I love all the functionality of the legs, and the geared head is probably the last one Ill ever purchase.

Excellent Choice
This was a huge improvement over the previous version of the product. It is a bit heaver but also more stable. The bubble level now rotates. Before it was always getting in the way of my ballhead knob. Now I just rotate it. The clamps on the legs are a gem. Much improved over previous models and far superior to twist locking legs.

I would definitely buy this again
Fully adjustable, easy to use, and great friction adjustments. Perfect match to my tripod.

Just what I was looking for
The tripod gave me the stability I was looking for to support my Fuji 100-400 mm lens on an XT-1. And the 3-way head provides the flexibility with lock down security that I wanted. Yes, I wish it were lighter and collapsed to shorter length, but tough to get it all in one package.

Not very good for precise jobs.
As an architectural photographer, I need a tripod that aligns perfectly there is a graduated 0 to 90 degree sticker on the top, but it's not aligned with the legs! so basically you have to guess if you're perpendicular to the subject. Over time, one of the legs loosened up and it kept pinching my fingers. The gear head also had the tendency to suddenly drop un the weight of the camera and lense. The camera never actually dropped to the floor, but I had a few scares.

A Great Tripod for long zooms
I have a long zoom lens that I bought for my Pentax camera. The combined weight was to much for my Slik U212 that I have loved and used for years. So this combined with the Monfrotto 3 axis head was a perfect replacement. It is rock solid stead, has many features for a variety of uses, is easy to use. It is a little heavier than My U 212 so that is something to get use to. I do a wide array of photography so the ability to get as low as 3 inches ... Show More

Worth the money
I'm very happy with the tripod. I'm using it to support hunting equipment. It is very sturdy and light. B&H shipped it fast. I will order from them again. Thanks.

I have been spending too much time+money in other brands, trying to save some bucks!! Zomei terrible!, Fancier better, Dolica very good, Manftorro excellent tripods legs.(video heads needs better quality).

Great Tripod, Quick Setup
I bought the 190XPRO3 with XPRO Magnesium Ball Head and 200PL Plate as it is a moderate weight tripod which allows very quick change in configuration and mounting of my camera. Speed is improved by 3 section legs (vs 4 section), quick lock levers on the legs, and the incredibly quick centre column switching for horizontal use. Overall these features make setup a snap. Legs can be set at a number of angles, allowing you to get right down to the gr... Show More

Excellent, light-weight tripod
This replaces a Manfrotto carbon-fiber tripod that I owned and used heavily for the past three years. These tripods are workhorses. I like the new design of the leg extension tubes and find that the lighter weight of the tripod does not come t the expense of stability. I use this with a fairly heavy medium format digital camera and Manfrotto ball head, and do a lot of long exposure work. The results so far have been excellent.

Fast, solid & dependable
This was a replacement head for a similar model which lasted me for well over 10 years! The spring in the quick release/lock part broke. Manfrotto advised me over the phone of the problem. However, the part was not available in the U.S. and would have to be shipped from Italy. I decided for not too much more money to replace the entire head. If I get 10+ years out of this one, I'll be more than happy. This ball head is quick to maneuver and adjust and, being very used to its working style, it was a simple choice to stay with a ball head style and this model. Manfrotto - one of the best!

Great Tripod
Nothing to complain about. It's heavy enough to be sturdy but not to heavy where you would leave it at home. I like being able to adjust the friction on the ball head, I put the Nikon 200-500 lens on it and you could adjust it where it wouldn't tilt in any direction on its own, but you could still move it when intended.

Solid tripod
I got this tripod recently for a heavier camera and I am very pleased with it. The only downside is that it is heavier than a tripod that I could not take on hikes, it is very solid and provides a lot of stability. Yet, it still folds in small enough space that it can fit into my airplane carry-on bag (diagonally without the head). It also extends high enough that I can take overhead shots easily. Overall a great product!

Very Nice Tripod
Only used a couple times so far, but very happy with purchase. Using mostly for small table top set up and outdoor location.

Follows the reputation
So in the interest of time, my setup is: 7D2, 24-105 f/4, CustomSLR Pro plate, hand/neck strap, and Gorillapods Focus mount... I decided to get the 496RC2 for the portable tripod in order to use the quick mounting of the Pro Plate and to allow for future extension into other larger tripods. It's not that light...it's made of many metal components, and definitely feels anything from cheap plastic. The ball head is smooth, and I am able to get accu... Show More

Manfrotto Magic
I absolutely love the versatility of this tripod, with my business I do a little bit of everything; when I do product photography it has always been a challenge to get the camera in an exact position when it come to overall lighting of the image, the neck of this tripods extends horizontally which is incredible. My last product shoot several days ago went smoother and quicker because I was not adjusting my camera and then the lighting and so on...thank you Manfrotto!

Solid Performer
This is a solid, well made piece of equipment that is relatively easy to use. Bought it for landscape and wildlife work. Not for backpacking as it is large and bulky, but that comes with the territory when your are looking for a stable platform for time exposures and long lens use.

Something Besides A Ball Head
There is an endless list of ball heads for tripods but I find them awkward for my uses I like to precisely control my camera on a axis and lock it down then do the same with the next axis of movement. That is difficult to do with a ball head. This head is well made, has good adjustments for locking setting that even handle my large heavy super tele zoom. No bobble or wobble. It has proven to be rock solid also in using it for macro photography. I... Show More
