Barely useful even for an amateur

I am not a pro in any sense of the word. Take my review with that in mind, please. I've had this interface about a year, connected to my home computer, and used it for recording my voice (reading aloud). It does its job as long as you don't ask too much of it. As long as you are OK with finding the sweet spot on the level dial and leaving it there, you will probably even like it. Sleek and sturdy: well constructed and good looking. Is that what consumers ask for in an audio interface nowadays? The problem I had to contend with was that when I switched microphones, I had to readjust the level. And I found quickly that it couldn't amplify a dynamic mic well enough. Even with the level turned up all the way, the audio was coming in at -20 dB. They claim that it's normal. Eventually I got tired of dealing with it and bought a UMC204HD. It's a definite improvement in all directions. It costs less, it has more flexible interface to audio (two hybrid inputs instead of one XLR and one 1/4), and MIDI controls. It has pads for inputs (if you need them). I can leave the levels on two inputs set for each mic. Levels do adjust smoother than iOne's, and preamps react normally. To be fair to PreSonus, I've not tried this interface with an iPad. For all I know it's perfect for it. Perhaps that's what you're looking for... I couldn't care less about that. ... More
Average to Poor

Dissapounting piece of gear. Build quality average with a poor finish (sharp edges on Aluminium housing)- plastic knobs etc. Input control dial has no gradual increase in range. The last 10 percent of the dial is the only place to get a useable level but it's to high so danger of clipping is high. Anything in the 0-90% range is too low. This problem is not unique to me (check forums) I would not recommend this product. Tried to ring service line but they don't support this product over phone. For the money it cost I couldn't be bothered anymore, sold it for $40 and purchased the behringer equivalent. I think the software that came with it looks pretty good but I never used it so can't offer a decent appraisal ... More

Gain Control Dial has no level adjust until the last 10% of range at which point it becomes unusable in terms of being too loud and getting into constant clipping territory. Any level adjust in the previous 90% of the control dial range is just too low. Check forums, this is not a unique problem. The product is unusable. The software looks okay but I never got to use it sadly. I'm switching to a Behringer

I've worked with other interfaces but non like this one and it was a hundred bucks feel like a 2 or 3 hundred dollars peace of equipment and the DAW software studio one is amazing "I likes this"

My Presonus Firestudio fire wire interface went bad ( after 4 years ). I was very concerned about a USB connection. Wow. This unit has absolutely no latency issues, consumes 50% Less CPU resources, and generates no heat. For the price it's a Grand Slam !

Keeps re-booting my iPad

It’s sounds good .. but it’s causing two different iPads to go into a perpetual re-boot cycle as soon as the screen shuts off. Also it will not power the iPad, needs to have its own AC power source to even work with the iPad. Don’t really recommend.
Some headphones won't work.

Only downside to this is headphones with the wrong impedance get nothing out of the headphone output until the dial is almost all the way up.

Wanted simple, quality interface for Mac devices and working great. Studio is PC based, but have Mac people to work with as well, and the quality of this is perfect.

We tried every which way to make this work again. Tested chords inputs seems 1/4 “ jack input reads what is coming in but doesn’t send it to computer. I will be requesting refund.
