I use Ableton and several outboard synths and the 18i8 is a perfect choice for routing out MIDI and routing audio back into Ableton. Super low latency, no problems at all that way - but I do have an up to date MBP with i7 @2.9 quad, 16gb RAM, and dual graphics processing.

It is so simple to get up and running! I am using it in tandem with my Clarett 8pre and able to get amazingly crisp and fast conversion. I am so happy with Focusrite's products and would recommend them to anyone!

Using this to record bands first album. It's really great. The "air" functionality definitely improves the pre-amps. It wants a "hot mic" so likes condensers but needs another pre-amp to drive some dynamics and ribbons effectively. Overall it's great and does everything I need it to.

Product was shipped ok. Power port was a little loose, but didn't think anything of it and that's on me. Didn't use it other than turn it on cause i didnt have a DAW. Buyer said it was only used once or twice but 6 months after now it won't turn on. Should have returned it but that's on me.

Replacing an aging Digi002R. Purchased for multi-mic recording of a weekly event lasting two hours that will be sync'd with video. Installed flawlessly and PT11 recognized it immediately. Love the look, the i/o and the mic pres. Looking foward to a long useful life.

This is such an amazing interface. I've used M-audio, previous Focusrite gear, even some universal audio gear, but nothing is as good as this interface to me. Everything sounds so clean and polished. Focusrite really stepped up their game. couldn't recommend this any more.

Its perfect and makes setup so easy. The online tutorials are also really good. Focusrite even goes above and beyond explaining setup with Pro Tools and other software. Sounds amazing, looks amazing and has room to grow with me.

Great interface perfect for home or small recording projects. Preamps are noticeably improved from gen 1. Lag time is among the best I’ve experienced with USB. Ability to expand via ADAT is also extremely handy.

My last open box Focusrite (Saffire Pro 26) never worked right with Firewire-to-iMac conversion. I'm giving them a 2nd chance with the USB 2.0 18i8. Used it for 2 hrs, so far works fine, sounds good, no random reboots.

A great solution for a USB webcasting interface. Running both a lav and the Rode NTG2 into it works great.

Great piece of equipment, if you have an extra $100 go for the 18i20 ...it has more I/o's and make things easier if you have to add extra outboard Equiptment (we always need an extra I/o 🙂)

I recently upgraded from the 2i2, so that I could record drums with a 4-microphone setup. Very pleased so far. The unit sounds good and works well.

I have only had the Scarlett 18i8 for a few weeks now but I have not found anything that I dislike about it so far. I am sure that this interface will do more then I actually need in my home studio.

I’m Very happy with this Audio Interface! Love the volume knobs! Sounds really clean and good. Direct line preamps sound better some amps I’ve had.
