These are ok, well made, and probably very good to use as a vocal monitor. I feel that they are biased toward the high end in tone, which as a live monitor would help cut through the mix, but using them as standard ear buds in other ways, you would probably be disappointed at small amount of low end.

Of course AT is always building nice quality headphones and microphones, I've got the chance to prove that. I'm an audio engineer and have been using AT products for more than 5 years. The AT 40-50 is one of the best options while recording in studio and owning a pair of ATH m50x has been great for my tracking and mixing. I was really excited when I ordered the ATH-E40 for my live and studio acts because, as a drummer I need to feel free and have exceptional isolation when playing, the ATH-E40 have that and are a great buy, the only problem I could see was the materials they used to build them. Previously I used shure se-215 and the coil was super resistant and good looking, not like the one in E40's, it feels like a regular pair of earphones. Extremely uncomfortable

Bought this elsewhere. Actual pain when trying to wear in any position. The design presses against my ear in a way that feels like its cutting. Noise isolation is pretty good and the sound was decent too, and this is after trying about 20 pairs from a wide range of manufacturers. I'd put this in league with the Mackie MP-120 but with more high frequency focus. Nowhere near something like what an armature will give but a bit more than normal. Packaging is weird, case is nice, extras are slim. If you're looking at these I'd recommend the Sennheiser IE 40 Pro or the Mackie MP series. The IE 40 sounds amazing but is a bit light on isolation and bass (its there though) - also its case is silly and its extras are slim. I haven't tried all Mackie MP variants yet but since the 120 is in the ballpark I imagine the others would be too, but more comfortable and with great extras. ... More

So I purchased these primarily because my last set of ear phones weren't long enough. I can't say I know much about audio, but compared to what I've had previously I'm very satisfied with how these preform. I've been using them on my GoXLR to monitor my audio, and the audio is clear. I could add not only add is the audio clear but I get much better volume out of these compared to some headphones I've used. Oh, right, and they're long enough for my needs, I had bought an extension cable just in case when I purchased these and I haven't had to use it yet. good about it is that you can hear very cliearly and very good sound, the bad thing is that looks very cheap however it never hardly falls offf your ear

I play keyboards and I needed in-ear monitor, whether it's wireless or wired. Since I don't move on stage too much, I decided to use the wired option and needed good in-ear buds. I found them! Fit well -- can be adjusted to fit perfectly due to their design. Hi-fi sound too!

I'm a professional videographer in a top ten market, I use these with my personal camera as I shoot interviews and promos for non profits. I like having a smaller profile headset, and the noise cancelling helps with sporting events or just loud rooms
Great sound, can't wear them for long

The sound quality of these is superb, but my ears just can't tolerate them for long. It starts to feel like a lot of pressure on the ear after a while, which is very unfortunate. It also doesn't sit tight enough.
