Do not downplay the four star rating, as im only giving it four stars only from the prospective of using alot of other microphones below/above/the same in its price point....the Senal SMC 660 definetely delivers....VERY good shockmount...probably better than almost everything in its price...you get three different polar patterns, as well as -10 db pad and high pass filter which make it super versatile in the studio... now as far as the sound?? i was quite surprised as Senal has relatively new products on the market, and was not completely aware of where the quality was...but the SCM 660 is great, especially on vocals! it does have a rich open sound to it on cardioid, and on figure 8/omni it has that unique sound that you look for in specific situations....sound wise i believe it beats out the Blue Spark, all MXL's (except maybe the 2003 and V67G), all CAD's, and all Samson's....i think the SCM 660 probably only falls short to the Audio Technica AT 2035 and the AKG P220/420 in the $100-200 range of microphones.... awesome work Senal...i copped the headphones too, very satisfied customer.... bottom line, if you need a good quality microphone with versatility and a strong shockmount, you cant beat it for the price, highly recommended... ... I made a big mistake when I bought this mic. They were on sale and I bought three; I should have bought six. These mics are an astounding value. We have a live Internet news show called On Target Radio that broadcasts via Facebook and YouTube. I bought three to cover our engineer, my co-host and myself. I should have bought an additional three for in-studio guests. The difference between these mics and our old ones is nothing short of wonderful and the multi-pattern makes them very versatile. If they go on sale again I'm buying three more.

These are extremely well-built, and so is the shock mount. The case is excellent too; rigid. It could have better (dual) latches for people like me who worry about a single latch opening at an inopportune time. The fact that it comes with either and both of these already makes the mic a bargain. 10/10 for quality of build, and that includes the actual condenser, which is gold plated. The sound is Rich, but not too rich or bassy. Neutral for male or female I would say. Specs tell you it's very good, but for 20x more $ you can get ever so slightly slightly better. Impedance is great for long runs, and not common at this price point. ... More

The Senal SCM-660 is a great microphone, me and my employee's use them all the time since we are in the wedding photography business. I love this thing. Perfect for podcasting and voiceover. It comes with a great carrying case for transporting. The quick switch high pass filter is a great touch. Had to do some ADR on a low budget film I was making and couldnt afford to go into a sound studio. I was able to get the job done with this mic at my apartment with very pleasing results.

I love this Mic! I tested it with vocals only at this point and it seems to be very warm (to my ears) and quiet. My studio in torn down for the most part since we are moving so I have not tried it on any instruments as of yet. I will have to right another review when I get my new house and set my studio back up.

This mic is a steal! I have now conducted 3 vocal sessions with it. And I couldn't happier with the results. The Senal 660 has a rich pickup, bold sound, and I can easily use this as a vocal mic, guitar mic and ergo most other applications. It has 3 polarity patterns so besides direct miking it can handle all sorts of room and image applications. It is built like a tank, including the shock mount which does not buckle under the weight of the mic . It baffles me that this mic comes so cheap. The quality of this mic is just what I was looking for and with a price that fits my budget. The clarity is as clear as the high end mic. So if you are looking for a quality mic that won't break the bank then this is it.
