Use this mic for voiceover work. Love the mic, great...near broadcast quality, but the accessories that come with it like the pop filter is near unusable...Very flimsy and rather a hindrance more than anything.

This Package is great because it includes everything you need to get started. The mic is clear, the pop filter works, and the stand works. The sony sound forge is easy to download and is simple to record as long as your not trying to use multiple tracks in the program. I do have one negative thing to say however. there is a slight humming noise that gets recorded I believe its from the XLR to USB adapter. It has that hum as if anyone has ever placed a power cord across an audio cord when recording before. Its not very loud so if you have music on another track it will cover the noise but if all your recording is for just your voice and nothing in the background, you may want to consider a different option for recording than this package. ... I have the Sennheiser 416 and use to do all my VO work with it. I got this mic on Dealzone price so a good deal. I guess I foolishly thought it would give me the deep rich sound I was needing from a close VO studio mic like this but compared to my 416 its not any better. Though surprisingly still really great sound up again $1,000 mic. If you don't have a nice mic already and need something for VO for the price this will work fine/great. If you're expecting because it's a Cardiod Condenser mic it will blow away even more expensive mics that are of the same or similar type,.... I don't think that will end up being the case. Surprisingly Good

Bought it as a casual purchase, more out of curiosity than need. Miked a grand piano, Neumann U89 on the strings toward the back, 414 over one of the sound holes and Senal SC-550X in the toward the front facing the hammers. Combination worked very well! Did a short voiceover and it was clean and quiet. Haven't tested the low end yet to any extent. But for under 100 bucks with a case and pop filter included, it's performs well and is worth a higher price.

I have narrated and have professional narrators come in to read the scripts. My equipment budget is small. The Senal SC-550X was a wonderful addition to my production tools. It delivers a high quality sound at a very affordable price. It appears to be well constructed. Not worth the price

I had experienced buzzing sound issues and a lot of my friends complained they couldn't hear me loud enough even though my Focusrite Scarlett was at max volume and was showing I was peaking in audio. Then I'd lower it and they could barely hear me. I turned off 0db gain and they said it sounded awful and not very good. So honestly this was not a good mic to use and don't recommend it.

Very good sound and sensitivity. They have worked well for several weeks in a worship setting for both small group voice and instrument setups. The only concern I have is about the connection of the wind screen to the shock mount. It could be a bit more secure.
