Here is the problem. Let's say you want to broadcast something using your iPhone and two mics plus your headphones. Ok, but what do you do if your iPhone runs out of power? You can't do anything. What I did, I got Belkin Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar. It was supposed to help me with the issue because you should be able to use your Audio adaptor and charge your iPhone at the same time! No way. IT DOESN'T WORK! I can listen and charge my iPhone at the same time, but I can't pass through both Rode and RockStar in order to be able to broadcast interview and charge my phone. Too bad. Nice for recording audio in iOs with 2 mics

It's nice to be able to record audio from 2 mics in iOS but this device does not seem to work with any headphones I have. Doesn't work with the iPhone headphones, or any of the other 4 pairs I've tried. If anyone has had success listening to their talent in real-time with a set of headphones, I'd love to know which headphones are compatible. For clarity: I can hear with the iOS headphones plugged into it but the audio is so quiet it's useless and adjusting the volume in the Rode app doesn't help. Also, the very quiet audio I am able to hear is with TRRS headphones (not TRS like the spec sheet says). ... More

We purchased this kit plus two mic extension cables to support live streaming church services using Facebook Live. Previously we used only a single lavalier mic on our pastor. We had a musician/cantor who would be marginally picked up by the one mic. Now with this kit, we direct mic the pastor and clip the second mic in proximity of the cantor. Now BOTH are intelligible. This will not get us any broadcast awards, but the viewers online can understand all of the audio content. B&H was quick to deliver and this has been an overall success.

We picked this up for my Dad who lives in assisted care and wanted a 'project'. This kit makes it easy for him to interview his neighbors and record on either his iPad or iPhone. It's also fun for us to interview him and record all of the classic old stories. There could definitely be some improvements, like redesign of how the microphones connect to the clips. In addition, when listening back to recordings you must unplug the interview kit. It would be nice if the interface portion of the kit was also a small speaker. One thing to remember when buying this part is that the INPUTS ARE STILL TRRS. You will need the Female TRS to Male TRRS plug if you want to use most external mics that have a TRS on the 3.5mm male plug. Other than that it works like a champ.

This device does a great job of providing two mic interfaces into an iOS device. It can also be used with various audio/video apps such as Wechat or Skype or Whatsapp if you want to provide higher quality audio than the built-in mic. I would recommend the Deity V-Lav mics with this interface, as the mics are very good for the price and have better features (longer cables, usable with various devices without adapters) than Rodes offerings.

This is really a perfect product for being able to do interviews much easier than having to set up full audio etc and make it much more convenient if you're trying to do things on the fly. My only little wish was that the microphone cords were a tad longer just to give more flexibility but overall a great product and I highly recommend. You just have to be relatively close to the person you're sharing the mic with but that's usually how interviews go:)

I recently bought the SC6-L, because almost all Judicial Courts are using Skype Business to avoid innecessary people in the same room due to COVID-19. But be aware, this (SC6-L) Apple hardware is NOT compatible with the Apple Microsoft Skype Software. It a really fine product for used it with Face Book Live or Zoom. You will have broadcast quality, specially if your are using it native App called Rde Reporter. But in My case resulted NOT compatible with Skype.

I am a pastor that has had to utilize pre-recording for worship during covid. I recorded on my phone for the longest time with no mic. The quality was decent, but the echo was difficult to mix out. This set up is really easy to use and get started and the quality of the sound is fantastic. For a budgeted approach to video production, this is a huge help and a great asset.

This has been a great product. I don't like things that are overly complicated. This set up is so easy! You download the app, plug it into your phone, press play and you are recording. You can also record on two different tracks, which is unusual for an inexpensive set up. Good job Rode. Really pleased!

Doesn't work with FaceTime or Skype. I contacted Rode and they said it was app-dependent. So, beware, it may only work with Rode apps.

after 5 plus hours of trying to get this to work, I gave up. I tried emailing B&H to let them know this device was not working. I tried to add pieces, to use different phones on different versions/updates and I cant get a peep out of this thing. used they RODE Reporter app, updating the version, still nothing. WTHECK!

The Rode SC6-L is a very compact adapter that allows users to use two SmartLav + mics or other Rode mics with the correct connectors into a two channel interview system for iOS devices. It works very well, is small enough to carry everywhere and performs well. A simple, but breakthrough, device.

I did my first interview yesterday using this rig. The space was a huge event space with exposed brick and concrete floors. I was worried the echo was going.to be extreme but it wasn't! Awesome audio quality and it works seemsly with my iPhone 11
Lavs Are Blah

The cord works well, but the lavs aren't too great. The clips didn't come attached, and there weren't any instructions, making it difficult to use them without the noise of them rubbing on clothes. I should have just gotten the adapter since I already had more expensive mics.

It's a great way to achieve quality sound at a reasonable price. Do be aware that it's a short leash so i has to buy a 20 ft extension from Rode as that was the only length sold
