As someone who's been taking vocal lessons at Guitar Center and hoping to make video music covers soon as a hobby, it was time for me to find my ideal condenser microphone. My research took me through countless reviews and comparison videos, but it was the Lewitt LCT 440 PURE that truly captured my attention. The rich and authentic sound it produced made me exclaim, "WOW!" It wasn't just one review that convinced me; video after video, I was amazed by the quality of sound brought by the LCT 440 PURE, and so I thought "This is the one". I then went to Guitar Center to purchase the product after having sufficient funds. The unboxing experience was like opening a treat. The packaging gave a sense of sophistication that promised premium quality. And the microphone didn't disappoint! The moment I tested it, the sound quality blew me away. It captured the nuances of my voice with such precision that it felt tailor-made for me. Whether I'm casually talking or belting out a tune, I enjoy speaking and singing on this microphone so much! The LCT 440 PURE's design is another noteworthy feature. Eschewing the common cylindrical design, it sports a sleek, modern box-shape. It's a breath of fresh air in the world of microphones and resonates with my personal aesthetic preferences. Robustness? This microphone has it in spades. An accidental drop from 5'10" left me anxious, but to my amazement, the LCT 440 PURE showed no signs of damage and still performed flawlessly. It's built to last! The bundled pop filter, shock mount, and windsock further enhance the value proposition. They aren't mere add-ons but high-quality tools that set the stage for a seamless vocal recording experience. I commend Lewitt's commitment to delivering top-tier microphones on their lineup, and the LCT 440 PURE is a shining example of their dedication to quality and value. For anyone looking to take their vocal recordings to new heights, this microphone is a must-have, or at least should be considered. #sweepstakes ... More

I have a few different microphones for podcast & youtube use. I like to keep both a dynamic and a condenser mic around because I prefer condenser sound but don't always have a super quiet environment to record in, so using a dynamic mic is helpful sometimes for less background/ambient noise that I have to address in post. However, I am simply amazed at this microphone's combination of wonderful condenser sound profile with above-average noise rejection for this type of mic. It still picks up more ambient sound than my dynamic mics of course, but I can record with this relatively close to my laptop and even when the fan kicks on it's hardly noticeable. For reference, where I record I usually can get away with a -60db noise gate for dynamic mics and -51db for condenser. With the LCT 440 I have it set to -55db. Most importantly, the sound from this thing is very impressive for the price point. After testing it with no post processing, I couldn't believe that it was under $300. Just a few mild tweaks and it sounds amazing! Terrific warm and rich tone with the clean & clear highs that I love from condenser mics. That alone is very valuable, because I could plug this into a different interface or switch to a new recording app with no saved settings and have it ready to record in a few minutes. Can't say that for some of my other mics that required quite a bit of tinkering with filters/EQ to get the sound right. Also love that Lewitt included a metal POP filter and foam cover along with a shock mount right in the box. Overall this one is a winner! ... More

I compared this mic to a Shure KSM32, and you could easily hear the difference in self-noise. The LCT-440 Pure clocking in at 7 dB of noise, and the KSM32 at 13 dB of noise. This is a very quiet microphone. I'm using the LCT-440 Pure for radio broadcast studio use. I really love the sound of this mic, and it has immediately become my favorite mic. Even though the supplied pop filter is very uniquely designed, I found it ineffective for close up, radio broadcast use. I instead paired this mic with the WindTech PopGard. The WindTech was much better at reducing P popping, and fit perfectly on the LCT-440 Pure. This is my first Lewitt Audio mic, and I have to say that I am *very* impressed by its sound, and build quality. Lewitt knocks it out of the ballpark with this mic. A home run all the way. ... More

This is an excellent microphone. The shock mount and pop filter included in the package are super compact and designed so you can get as close as you want to this microphone. Because its so small, it also doesnt get in the way when doing VO, allowing me to easily see past it. The pop filter doesnt work quite as well as some others, likely just because it is so close to the mic, but with that in mind, it works pretty well. Build quality/fit and finish is good as well. It has a very low self noise and a very clean sound. I compared it to a Rode NT1 and sE Electronics X1 S. The LCT-440 Pure has a bit more presence in the high end than those mics, without going far enough to sound sibilant or harsh on my voice. The NT1 has a bit more boomy low end. Those other mics are great, but in the end, I prefer the Lewitt LCT-440 Pure. ... More

This is the Lewitt equivalent of the AKG C214 in that it is the cheapest of the line and it has the same cartridge as the more expensive versions except in a cardioid-only version. It compares quite favorably with the AKG C214 in tone and super low noise. It has a very similar voice to the AKG P420 and the Blue Bluebird, so it works well with all three of these mics. Physically, the LCT-440 Pure is remarkably well made and gorgeously finished - an actual mic of beauty with the functionality to go with the looks. It performs well on bass, brass, strings including electric and classic guitar and works quite well for voices ranging from mid-low to very high. ... More

At the advice of a friend, when I was growing unsatisfied with the limitations of doing VO with a shotgun mic (Sennheiser 416) and wanted to add and LDC to my studio, I tried out the LCT440 pure. WOW! This was hands down the VO pro group favorite in a blind sound test with Neumann TLM and Sennheiser mics (including the 416). I would HIGHLY recommend this mic to anyone for VO work or for any other LDC mic applications.

I'm recording audiobooks of my wife's series so I'm looking for a clean capture of my voice, not worried about a huge dynamic or frequency range. This mic is near perfect. As professional reviews have pointed out, it has a slight boost at 4kHz and 12kHz which I cancel with an EQ in Audition. The result sounds like me, so much so that my kids thought a playback was me reading live. Using a Motu M2 with gain around 60% and a little above normal speaking volume gives me -3dB peak. The included pop filter works but not as well as a traditional fabric/foam screen. I have a moderately treated closet studio and it picks up very little ambient noise. Very impressed. ... More

The "quietness" of this mic is on par with the Rode Nt1...and on some voices, it usually sounds great, but not on mine. It is well-built and gets some really great reviews...but on my particular voice, the 440's pronounced high end produces a harshness that I simply don't like. If it fits your needs, go for it. For most, it is well-worth the investment.

The Lewitt LCT440 is a good mic for guitars. I use a bunch of mics when building guitar tracks, the mics all have unique character and texture, giving forth an exciting and full sounding mixes that stand out within the tracks. The LCT440 seems to have a True Tone without adding too much color to mix. The mic seems to record extremely heavy death and doom style tones, this being the main reason I like this mic so much… I don’t have anything bad to say about this mic, I would give it a dark character when compared to my AKG C-214, which seems to be a brighter condenser mic. ... I haven't gotten to use the mic as much as I want yet, but when I recorded my own voice it sounded clear without any noise. I plan on getting more Lewitt mics in the near future. The mic looks good and is a little bit smaller than I thought it would be (but that's not really an issue) Looks well made / sturdy and I'm glad I chose this rather than another mic (Stellar X2) I was looking at.

This microphone sounds fantastic. It's very smooth with both good low-end and nice presence. It does pick up quite a bit of the room though, so if your room is not treated, you'll end up with a slightly hollow sound. I'm actually adding treatment to my room to make it work better with this microphone now.

I use the LCT-440 for audio book narration and voice work on a few animated projects. The LCT-440 is a grate entry level mic for anyone looking to enter the world of voice acting and narration. So far the audio wizards (engineers) I have worked with have not had an issue with any of the work done threw this mic.

This is a really nice mic. I've used it on acoustic guitar and vocals, and it gives a nice, balanced, true sound. The slight bump in the top end opens things up a bit (and means I don't have to EQ that in afterwards). VERY detailed and clean. Exactly what I was looking for.
