I was trying to find a microphone with great quality at a reasonable price. When I read reviews online I found out that Yeti is the way to go. The problem is there's no one selling Yeti here in Indonesia, which is where I currently reside. Even if they do sell one the price has been marked up by almost 200%! So I tried finding online stores overseas that sell the mic at its original price and could ship to Indonesia. Luckily, B&H delivers. I did not regret my purchase one bit. The whole ordering process was seamless and the shipping journey is updated real-time. The whole process from ordering, shipping from US and arriving in Indonesia only takes about 2 weeks, which is crazy fast! As for the microphone, the sound is absolutely clear with every little detail picked up, and it even has different types of modes to choose from (for podcast, game streaming, singing, conference call, and many more). I usually use it for conference call for work as well as recording just for hobby. Though I should've gotten the kit as well, but overall still absolutely worth the purchase! ... More

I use my Blue Yeti mic for podcasting and for voiceovers of online tutorials. So far, I have been very impressed with the Yeti's capabilities. I'm an audiophile so I'm pretty critical when it comes to recording, especially the human voice. For me, the Yeti shines when used in Cardioid mode. The vocal timbres are just right and require little post-processing, if any, as long as you have a decent recording environment. What's amazing is that you can literally plug the Yeti into any open USP port and start recording straight away. No downloads, no drivers, no setup. Using the open source Audacity program, recording is literally a matter of doing a few mouse clicks. This is a heavy mic which has its pros and cons. If you're recording on a desktop, you'll appreciate the solidity of the construction. It's a very sensitive mic and you need a solid base to dampen any vibrations. At 3 lb, it's not the most portable mic though. Overall, this mic gives excellent value for your money. ... More

The Yeti USB Mic is great and it looks super cool. I am not a professional so I couldn't tell you about some specific details or technical stuff but I am using it to record a podcast and so far it has been an amazing experience. I can put the mic in the middle of a table and have guest with me and the voices sound clear and the audio quality is exceptional. (I'm using it with garage band on a Mac book pro). No need to install any software you just plug it in and it's ready to go. Also I was impressed by the quality of the mic, The only downsize at least for me is that it is heavy and big, but for some this could be a great. If you are in the search of a good looking mic that can record quality sounds this is a great option for you! ... More

Reasons why I'm satisfied with B&H services: 1- I was going to buy this BLUE YETI USB Mic from my usual famous internet retailer but it was cheaper at B&H. No shipping. No FL tax. 2- Item arrived fast and right on schedule. Reasons why I like the BLUE YETI: 1- The No Latency headphones which is an absolute must... when recording and overdubbing on PC. Great for musicians, singer/songwriters etc... 2- Excellent clear & balanced sound quality with four different pattern settings to choose from. The CARDIOID MODE is my favorite. 3- Easy Plug-in-And-Play setup. 4- Personally, I really like its looks and its sturdiness. Some reviewers find it bulky... but it's not if you only use it in a home studio type of setting. 5- Great reasonable price for a condenser mic of this quality. Best money I've ever spent !! :) Conclusion: All PROs... NO CONs !! ... More

I first ran across this mic used for video narration, and it sounded very good. It's not an EV RE20 but still nice. It's been very good in video conferences. Select the omni mode and put it in the middle of the table, and everyone in the room can be heard. It really came through for me in a live music recording. I do live sound and have a friend who holds barn jams. I try to mic all the amps that get put on stage for both the live mix and individual tracks on a recording, but there's always that one player who makes it on stage without getting miced, or who does *not* want his amp miced, or the chimp sound guy who doesn't rec-enable the right track, and something's lost in the recording. I'd set up a Yeti to record the barn's ambiance, and it turned out that in its stereo mode it gave me a fantastic sonic image of the stage, with the angle of the field just right to reject the main speakers. This allowed me to salvage a recording of a fine guitarist when the afore-mentioned chimp failed to get the correct channel recorded. I've since upgraded to the Yeti Pro for its XLR connectivity. ... I upgraded from a $ worthless thing that might as well have been an earbud. Needless to say, I'm loving this microphone. I've used it with several different software packages, and they all required no setup. It just worked, and all four modes are clear and obvious. It's nearly the size of the lamp I have on my computer desk. It will get attention when I bring it to school. A more traditional form factor for home use might be welcome for the next round of product. I have no idea if the mic itself could be smaller, but the stand is tall enough to let you flip it over, which means it's up about 4 inches. All totalled, it's taller than my keyboard is wide.My hope is to get it working either with my Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet or with another Android device via USB adpter. No luck yet. So far for me it's Windows only.(I can't recommend this for pro recording, not because of the product at all, but I'm not a pro, and I certainly haven't done any rigorous testing. I'll leave that suggestion to those more apt to make it.) ... More

Whether you're looking to record yourself playing instruments, singing, or podcasts, the Yeti offers the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to USB microphones. Using the microphone couldn't be more simple; just plug in the USB cable, open recording software of your choice, and in minutes you'll be recording some surprisingly clear and crisp audio. On the topic of audio quality, one must mention the top-notch audio recording capabilities of the microphone. The Yeti uses a three-capsule design which allow for a wide array of recording patterns. The audio comes out well-balanced, picks up bass well, and produces most frequencies with excellent clarity. With that said, do not expect it to be able to record CD quality audio, but for a USB mic, it sure has just about every other beat. The only con I can really think of is the Yeti's size, which might make it difficult to transport. With that said, the Yeti is very well built and features a rugged metal body and stand. ... More

I must say that this microphone is awesome. I am using a mid 2012 MacBook pro 15 and my main software is logic pro X. it took me a some minutes to get use to the gain level on this mic. I had to adjust the master input fader on my mac to the max (midi setup app) and only use the Gain on the mic. It is super sensitive and picks up the neighbor's dog barking 2 blocks away. the different polar patterns are awesome. I did not need any driver for the blue yeti pro using the mac. it is just plug and play. I will be using it for many recordings. It is an awesome microphone you will love it. I like the fact that the EQ is pretty flat and I have control over the way I want to sound. For voiceovers, I just add my own bass boost EQ and it sounded great. The only thing is that if your sound card cannot handle 192kHz, the computer will revert to the default frequency it can handle (on my MacBook Pro, not sure about PC). ... More

My primary use for this mic is voiceovers on videos. I've only used it a few times so far but it has worked flawlessly and sounds great. I create tracks in Adobe SoundBooth and then drop them into Premiere. I've mainly used the cardioid pattern but in tests with the other options, I was amazed at the quality of ambient sound and spatial direction that the stereo pattern produced. Unfortunately, the Yeti's huge size makes it impractical to use in the field for ambient sound gathering. I really like the level of control you get in this single unit: Headphone and program monitor with level control; gain control; and the multiple patterns. I listed bulky/heavy as a con, but it's actually a pro, too. It's tank-like rugged and has a retro-quality look to it. Old-school audio gear was heavy! So, it's a pro in the studio or other stationary setup but a con if you want to run-and-gun with it on location or travel light. ... More

Full time music teacher, and this is just one elegant solution. I've recorded live to two-track for 20 years, and typically have a complicated set-up, 2 Neumann's, tube mic-pre, to firewire interface. Worked OK at my old location (just moved to larger space). Yeti Pro is quiet, great on Skype, and just keeps things simpler for when I need to record on the fly and keep things simple. I like to mix down from 24/176.4, and it sure is nice to have something this elegant for the job. Probably saving me four hours a week of fussing around (when all I want to do is create some content!). Nice job Blue (this is my first Blue mic). ... More

Purchased the mic in-store. Went home, plugged it into my MacBook Pro, and installed the software that it came with. The red light came on, and it was recognized by my computer. Testing it out, I recorded just my vocals for about 30 seconds. All of a sudden I get a horrible screeching sound. The microphone turns off, and will not turn back on. A lot of users blame this on the bad-quality USB cable it comes with. So I go get a new USB cable, and it still doesn't work. All in all this has been a terrible experience. This microphone uses USB 2.0 technology with 5-pins, which is SUPER fragile, especially compared to commonly available USB C and 3.0 tech. I'm super disappointed in my purchase, and think this product should be replaced with newer tech asap. Please note that this microphone is from ~2014, so you're talking 4 years outdated compared to other tech. I'm returning this immediately. ... More

Excellent microphone for very reasonable price. I have spent a lot of time in the Community Access TV and have had experience with a lot of so called pro-sumer microphones that often cost more and produce less quality recordings. If you don't know how to use the gain control, or change the recording patterns you can get a lot of background noise. But both of these controls are easy to set and use. Only cons are that cheap looking plastic volume knob on the front (volume control), the mic has a nice metal housing, is it really going to break the bank to use a matching metal knob, at least on the front? This is a really big microphone, as long are you realize that its going to stand 12 inches tall on your desk its not a negative, but don't expect to hand hold it, or put it on a flimsy stand. As a side note they do have a new model coming out the Yeti Pro which will also include an XLR out among other features which may be of additional use for recording professionals. ... More

I use the Yeti for Vocal recordings, primarily Singing. I followed the advise of one of the reviewers about input settings to minimize how hot the microphone was, and have been pleased with the results. I have not used the software that came with the microphone, as Garageband seems suffice for my current purposes, so I cannot speak to the usability from that aspect. I do note that at times, the microphone overrides the Headphone jack on the computer, so you have to use the headphone jack on the microphone in order to monitor the sound, but that is a little detail, though if you aren't aware of it, I can see that being an issue. Other than that little quirk, it has worked out well for me. ... More

I bought one of these nearly a decade ago as a general purpose mic, not necessarily music related. The noise floor is a little higher than I'd like, but it has a number of features which help offset being noisier than it should be. It has a few different patterns, although I found myself using cardioid pattern 90% of the time. The headphone jack and separate volume control is a really helpful feature. It picks up voice pretty well and doesn't do a terrible job at capturing room sounds either, if you can gate out the noise. The shockmount-y, stand-thing it comes with is awful and will pick up every rumble from your desk. In addition to that, it doesn't fit very well into the standard size mic stand adapter. It's built very solidly though - I've dropped it countless times and it hasn't broken. There are probably better options if you're looking for a budget-level USB mic for voice, but it's not bad by any means. I wouldn't use it to record anything serious. ... More

Might be good for podcasting, but I can't recommend it for acoustic guitar. The Spark literature talks about it being a professional mic ideal for vocals, drums, guitars, so I thought it would be worth a try. I wanted to get the convenience of a Lightning connection for iPad etc. I put it head to head with a old, medium-quality condenser XLR mic (AGK CE 1) running through an M-Audio Mobil Pre (USB to a Mac) and there was a world of difference much clearer highs and harmonics on the XLR mic. Maybe not a fair comparison since an XLR mic plus a pre-amp is going to cost more but be advised. I returned the Blue Spark, thank you, and got a Focusrite iTrack Solo to connect my old mic to an iPad and am very happy. On the other hand, it does seem like good engineering to get a decent mike to plug directly into a Lightning connection and require nothing else. Given its convenience and potential for portability it seems odd that the mic is so heavy and is laden with that bulky shock mount. (Would be nice if it were threaded for a standard mic stand.) ...
