At least with my voice it sounds amazing. Both for recording voice overs and singing. Be extremely careful with the switches, they WILL break if you apply too much pressure to them. I have seen this happen in many reviews, so I am handling this little guy very carefully. Other than that, build quality is great, it feels solid and as I have mentioned, the sound is just nonsense for a $200 microphone. I guess a professional singer or voice actor would need a much expensive one to get specific jobs done, but for the vast majority of us this microphone is more than perfect. I wanted a good mic for talking while recording a video or streaming as I play my Theremini, and this is perfect. The sound is clear and the off center noise rejection is amazing. I have a tower fan about 6 feet behind the mic that is usually on the highest setting and this mic doesn't pick it up. Now I'm trying to figure out where I could put another one for my game streaming setup.

I have now had two Blue Sparks develop sound distortion issues. The first after about two years (still under warranty), and the replacement after about 3 months. I had a good experience with the warranty claim, and had no issues with the mic sound before it went bad, but I don't trust Blue microphones anymore.

I got a great deal on this Blue Spark SL, I was ready to order a new unit and thought I would check Reverb first and I'm glad I did. I saved 50% and got a boom arm to boot. Mic works great, I recommend this seller.

This is my second condenser MIC. I have test it with recording thru Scarlet 2i2 and Cubase. The results is superb.
