I have these mics hooked up to Sony Digital Voice Recorders. They work GREAT!!! Don't waste your money on expensive wireless microphones that don't ever give you 100% reliable, great sounding audio. Get these mics paired up with an audio recorder for professional sound!!!I've been in the video business for over 6 years, and have had horrible experiences with all other professional brands, including: Shure, Sennheiser, and others... Ever since I've abandoned my wireless, $ systems and replaced them with these inexpensive mics paired up with Sony Digital Voice Recorders, I have had REMARKABLE audio, and will never go back to the wireless systems. It takes a little more time to edit and sync the audio to the video, but the end product is WELL worth it!!!These simple, inexpensive mics are GREAT to use for every day recording: talking heads, interviews, weddings, commercials, ambient sound, etc! ... I'm far from an audiophile, and bought mic to plug in to a Tascam DR-08 for use as a mic when recording vows, reception speeches, etc. Two different sales people at B&H told me that this mic would not work with the Tascam DR-08. The first sold me on the Pearstone OLM-10 lavalier mic which worked really well. However, the cord between the 3.5mm mini plug and the microphone is 20 feet long! That's a lot of cord to get neatly tucked into a vest pocket. Also, since the Pearstone has its own power, you have to worry about turning the mic on, AND that the battery has juice. That's too many variables for me. I bought this, against the salesman's advice, and couldn't be happier. The sound is good -- sounds just fine to my novice ears -- the cord is 3-4 feet long, doesn't require a battery, and works with my DR-08. If your recorder supports plug-in power (make sure it does) then you shouldn't have any problems using this lav mic. ... More

Having only just purchased this very inexpensive lavalier mic last week, I had the chance to use it during a wedding shoot in the Wisconsin Dells on May 28 on a very windy day. I had the mic plugged into a Zoom H1 recorder and attached to the officiant, the sound quality was really great even under extreme windy conditions, the wind screen that came with the mic worked really well. I needed it in a pinch because one of my other very pricy lavs had a broken cord, this Azden lav worked great, what a deal for under $25! I can't tell the difference between this mic and one of the expensive ones I have. The length of the cable was fine for my use but others have longer cables. I love it and I'm ordering a few more as backups!! ... More

Excellent peice of equipment that I have used on many professional interview shoots. I was using an Audio Technica Mic with the cable that was 20 feet long plugged directing into my DSLR, but I was never quite happy with the quality. This little Azden Lav plugged into a Zoom H1 is now my field audio setup and the output is fantastic compared to what I was getting with the Audio Technica. The windscreen never falls off and the gear feels high quality. Worth every penny. I will probably get two just so I have another as a back up. It works perfectly as a wireless mic setup. I hit record on the Zoom, clip it on the talent, they put in their pocket and off we go. I also use Plural Eyes to sync in post- it's a really cool setup. ... More

I MUST DISAGREE with a previous review from Jonny PA they are durable as much as my sony ones costing 7 times the price. Here's a tip for those of you who are rough or sloppy with your gear. IT'S A WIRE so be careful and don't abuse of it!!! When I put these mics away or ANY set of laws by the way, I observe the original bending marks that came from factory. don't re-bend the cables to fit your bag. Make the BAG fit the cable! Following these suggestions will make your delicate lav wire to last until 2080 or longer. I'm a very busy videographer and do lots of run and gun. Nothing I own ever breaks. I own 2 of these mics with their complete lav system Excellent audio capture. It's quiet, crisp yet gentle on highs and no hiss!I use this on the Azden lav system and ALSO worked flawlessly on a Gopro hero 4 via external audio using this mic. ... More

I shoot weddings and own a higher end wireless mic system. This mic's sound pickup is not very strong, it is really only able to pick up the person it is on, our other mic can pick up that person and those around him/her. For the price, you get a decent mic, but don't expect it to be your main workhorse for events. If you just want to mic one person for simple interviews, it'll work well. We bought this to replace one that was broken, so it isn't the most durable thing in the world.

Have a few of these with me on every shoot, use them for anything and everything. They work well indoors without the windscreen and just fine outside with the windscreen as well. I have compared them with a few other quality lapel mics and as long as you know how to work your feild recorder keeping your input levels accurate you will not be able to tell much of a difference between this mic and a $100.00 mic. I use mine with either a Zoom H1 or H2. I tried some quick replacements while this was in the mail, but I was glad when the package showed up since nothing could match the sound of the original. It has great pick-up while also ignoring a lot of background noise, such as a busy highway or a crowded convention hall. If you have an Azden pack, BE SURE TO GET THIS MIC. If you get an electrocet mic that is powered by a battery, you get a bad buzz in the audio line. The only con I have seen is that the tie-clip included is a bit flimsy, doesn't really grip well and is easy to lose. ... More

And the price cannot be beat. Of course, they are omni-directional, so ambient room sound has to be strictly controlled. As given the price range, these mics cannot compare to the units 10x the cost, and sound can run a bit 'tinny' unless placed perfectly. Plus, the cord was always so long and I felt bad asking grooms and officiants to stash it in their pocket. This mic solved all that. The cord is the perfect length to go from the lapel to the recorder in their pocket and it doesn't require additional power. Audio quality more than acceptable for speaking.
