I set out to find an affordable used C414, a mic I am very familiar with. I decided to try out this mic at a local music store and it sounded pretty good through headphones. I just finished my first recording with it. Very surprised with the overall quality, microphone housing, attenuation and frequency response actually, seems a little more balanced than the pricy and very bright C414. It's a keeper.

I got this mic to record trumpet and its amazing. Can really stand side by side with industry standards like his older brother the 414

I bought these as an upgrade to the f15s I was using for drum overheads. These are much more natural sounding, have better low end, and a less hyped top end. The audix f15s were really aggressive up top, and I always had to pull a ton of 5k+ out. Always too bright, but these sound much better, and they're great to look at too. =)

. Used this on and off for a few years, but was never really happy with it. Very average sound...better on piano, weaker on vocals. Sold it on Ebay and picked up the C414 XLII. WOW!! On the piano it is fantastic. Vocals are excellent too. Much more detailed, nuanced, smooth sound. Really, really like the C414 XLII .

I used this mic in a studio years ago for lead vocals and it just fit my voice perfectly. I experimented with some other mics for home recording and nothing compared. Very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this mic as part of the start up kit for my home studio. Extremely satisfied with the performance of the mic. Perfectly suited if you are looking for a professional mic for home studio. Very low noise baseline, excellent dynamics and very likeable the recorded sound.

My first professional level microphone and I’m blown away. Used to record vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, percussion and it did well on all of these. Makes my old mics sound like I’m listening through a garden hose in comparison. Sound level output is a little lower than expected but it hears everything.

The mic is fantastic. It sounds crystal clear. For the money, best in class. I prefer AKG over Rode, just IMHO better sounding mics

I've used this mic for pretty much every possible studio application you could think of, and it has performed wonderfully. I consider it my 'swiss army knife' condenser.

What else can I say that hasn't been said? The c414 is a studio legend that sounds great on anything, and the c214 brings that same AKG character to the table at a fraction of the cost. I may buy a couple more.

This should be one of the first mics you buy. It will not end up being a wasted purchase because you'll never need to "upgrade" this mic. Even with several high end mics, including 2 C414xls's I end up using these for lots of things alongside much more expensive mics.

This mic came perfect brand new quality as the listing says. The sound quality is exactly as it should be for a condenser mic. I definitely recommend this mic for recording vocals and podcast use!

This is realy good budget-friendly mic that's been great for vocals and amp micing in the short time I've had it. I've also used it as my main vocal mic for streaming performances, and in a couple of case, used it to perform acoustically, and it sounds excellent.

Home recording of woodwind horns is a balance of price and performance. This mic brings up the standard without breaking the budget. The bad news is the rest of the links in the signal change will need an upgrade for us to truly enjoy the benefits of this exciting new microphone.

I upgraded to this from a Rode NT1a. Much better frequency response for male/tenor vox + the option to cut low frequencies is incredible. Perfect for home studio use.

This is the little brother to the legendary 414 and it shows. Very natural sounding mic and a great addition to my mic box. It sounds stunning as an overhead mic on drums. It will get plenty of use

This is a fairly versatile microphone. I have been using it to mic the body of an acoustic guitar and as a vocal mic. It works.
