Awesome Wide Angle Lens!
This is a great little wide angle lens! I got it because I wasn't ready to invest in a super expensive wide angle so I opted to go with this lens. I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be happy with such a cheap lens and the quality would suffer but the quality is great and I couldn't happier with it!

Good for the price
I used the lens recently for some astrophotography where I needed as much speed as possible. It was quite sharp at f/ 2.8 wide open, which made it worth the price for me. I wish it had autofocus, but for $325 I can't have everything, besides the hyperfocal distance of a 14 mm lens at f/2.8 is about 8 feet anyway, so maybe autofocus isn't that important. I did have to try twice to get a good lens. The first one I bought was soft at 2.8 so I returned it to B&H and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Good service, B&H.

Great For Night Photography
The price is right (about $300) and the quality of my night photos were excellent. It is a totally manual lens that fits on a Canon mount. The focus and aperture are manually set on the lens. The focus ring is slow to respond. Focus for infinity should be calibrated and marked since infinity is not at the infinity mark.

Excellent value specality lens
This is an outstanding lens value for shooting night scenes and night skies. The glass is good quality and has low distortion, especially when used at night.

Surprise
Just 'bought a Canon 5DMIII and needed a wide angle lens without spending too much. After much research and scrutiny, I decide on this lens instead of another Canon L lens. After shooting for a couple days, I realized something.............. THIS LENS IS D_MN GOOD, REALLY SHARP AND EASY TO USE. This lens is a welcomed addition to my arsenal of lenses and is my go-to lens for landscaping. Just love this lens. Already made money selling prints crea... Show More

Love the lens!!! Love the price!!! Hate the 7 day shipping that it took instead of the advertised 3 day shipping. So much for that photoshoot.

Best 14mm for the price
I can this is the best lens for the price. Very sharp, Wide angle does the magic. I would recommend this for Astrophotography, Landscapes, Realestate. Can create magics getting closer to the subject. I'm loving this lens.

Outstanding!
Bought this lens for astrophotography, cityscapes, and landscapes. Previously had bought Rokinon's 24mm/f1.4 lens and had been very happy with it. Did not have any concern about the build quality. Testing the 14mm on a Canon 5DIII, the images were focus sharp, no noticeable vignetting no color shifting, etc. Bought the AE chip to avoid having to write down my exposure setting in the dark. Focus at infinity is about 1/3 of the way between the vert... Show More

Does what I expected it to do, and does it well
I hate it when people praise a piece of equipment and then qualify that praise with ...for the money. I've read a lot of reviews about this lens that end with that qualifier. It leaves me wondering, well, what if I spent 5,6X for a Nikon 14mm to 24mm f/2.8 or the Tamron 15 - 30mm f/2.8, will my shots be that much better? I played tug of war over this thought for better than an year and then finally said, just buy it. And I did. It's a wonderful l... Show More

Really cool lens for night photography
I took this lens to Joshua Tree National Park, for night landscape photography, under an almost full moon, and I would say this lens produces, really clear, and sharp images. The manual focusing was much easier to manage than I had anticipated. Overall, this lens has proved to be a good investment. Though I have only used it one time, so far.

Very sharp, very wide angle of view
I've been laboring between getting this lens or Tamron's 15-30 for my D750. With this lens I'll shoot interior real estate shots for publication in the MLS. I took it out the day after I got it to shoot a small condo and this lens did a great job. The images were very clear and sharp with consistency from corner to corner. With a lens this wide, you're going to have lens distortion shooting in close spaces so that's something to think about. My last lens/camera set up was a D300s coupled with a Nikon 10-24mm DX. This lens produces better images than that combo. Worth it at twice the price.

Excellent value
Just received this lens and took some test shots using a Canon 6D -- results so far are very good, which I expected since I rented this lens (without the AE chip) before buying. A pleasant surprise was that the AE chip, in addition to providing focus confirm, allows the camera body to control the aperture setting -- the manual aperture setting ring on the lens as shown in the photos is not present on the AE chip model. Also, the AE chip model sets the EXIF Focal Length and Lens tags to 14 mm and 14mm, respectively. (The non-AE chip model I rented did not set these tags.)

Definitely the best bang for your buck!
I use this product mainly for start photography and time lapses. With a decent f stop of 2.8, it's really good for those low-light situations. I also recently bought a Glidecam HD 4000 and having that ultra wide angle works wonders. Definitely recommend this lens for those looking to get into the prime lens game and don't want to drain their wallet too much.

Not perfect but perfect price!
Suffers from lens flare and a host of issues but just right for the price. Will not function with some of the settings that the Pentax K-1 has to offer but much cheaper than the Pentax alternative. Also lacks any threads so you won't be able to use any filters with it. That being said, you can get some amazing images out of this lens with some post processing.

Low light lens?
My photos were initially very nice until I loaded them on a high resolution computer screen and the soft area in the lower right of the landscape scene was unacceptable. I shoot many low light or night time shots and need the lens to be able to operate with little or no distortion or softness for the whole image. Sorry, this lens won't work for me, I'm sending it back.

Exceptional wide angle lens
This is an excellent lens, if you want to get into wide angle shooting this is the absolute best choice for the money in my opinion. The chip communicates with my D810 nicely, but even with focus confirmation there is a small range of focus that is indicated as acceptable. To be sure of your focus the 100% zoomed in live view is the way to go. Build quality is excellent and the cap while bulky gives good protection. I find it's easy to stash it under my arm while shooting. All in all I love this lens, nice sharp images and easy to use if you don't mind manual focus.

would definitely recommend
I was looking for a nice lens for some landscape photography because my 35mm was not cutting it for me. I looked into a few different lenses and mostly wanted to stick to nikkor lenses but this lens is absolutely great, very sharp and precise. I would definitely recommend to a friend or any one that is attempting landscape photography.

Great lens with limitations
I'm using this mostly for grand landscapes and in museums and tight indoor shots. The images from this lens were sharper than the same image from my zoom lens when set for wide-angle. The exposure range is great and I didn't notice chromatic aberrations even on tree branches set against a bright sky. I'm OK with an the ALL manual adjustment; however, I would have given this lens a 5 if it at least was equipped with contacts for lens info and the ... Show More

UMMM YES!
This lens is great! It is tack sharp and the color is great! The focus ring is a bit slow, but there are no complaints. Solid construction, it has weight that is just enough to not be overwhelming. I carry this on my Canon 6d and have no issues. Definitely a recommend!
