MeFOTO BackPacker Travel Tripod (Titanium)

Good product
This tripod seems solid enough with a dslr and 24-70 2.8 attached. The ball head is also descent, no creeping on shorter exposures. My basic purpose was to have something small enough and light enough, but still of good quality to carry on a day trip where I may need a tripod and still be carrying a smaller messenger bag. This is not a studio tripod. So, for what it is, it should be excellent for my day trips.

Small. Unique. Functional.
Picked up the Canon EOS M for dirt cheap and wanted a nice portable tripod to match. Chose the MeFOTO based on the majority of reviews and the color options. Find the tripod compact and functional with a nice build quality. A little difficult to get a proper breakdown of the tripod to fit the carrying bag on the first try though. You'll find yourself positioning the head a couple times to get the right fit.

Very light, compact and good quality
I bought this as a replacement for a TeFoto (not meFoto) compact carbon fibre tripod that I managed to lose during my recent trip to NYC and Lake George, NY. The MeFoto is lighter, more compact and has far better quality joints in the ball head, adjustment knobs and legs. The only downsides are the non-retractable centre column - it's sturdy, but doesn't go low enough - and the lack of a monopod leg.

Great Looking Tripod Kit
I have been using this tripod during my day hikes in the north cascades. As a product it has great finish but takes a few mins to extend and then put it back. I was comparing it to the old Slik U5000 that I had.The quick release plate works very well. Sometimes I do have to tighten the ball head a bit more since I feel is not very secure. But for the price I think this is one of the better Tripods

Great Portable Tripod
Works fantastically as a highly portable travel tripod, folds down fairly small and easy to carry in its own case. Easy and quick to set-up. The two position leg set-up is great when you want a low flat mount and provides a tall enough mount for most situations when fully extended. The end extensions are a little on the spindilly side, but that's only to be expected for this type of tripod.

Fabulous
I own the largest, and now the smallest, of the MePhoto tripod range. These tripods are excellent; very rigid, lightweight and sturdy. The Backpacker Travel Tripod is a delight to use. It is very light weight, very compact and is capable of supporting a good size DSLR without any difficulty. I've used it on many occasions and its almost as good as the full size version. Highly recommended!

Compact and flexible
I appreciate the fact that this tripod is compact, includes a ball head, and is priced right. It's about the same weight as my Manfrotto Carbon Fiber tripod, but smaller. Unfortunately, you can't change the ball head for a fluid head for shooting video. Other MeFOTO models have features that add more flexibility if you choose to spend more. This is still a solid tripod for the price.

Great for my Leica!
Bought this tripod specifically for landscape photos using my Leica IIIf film camera. It offers all the features needed with amazing portability. I received several positive comments regarding the build quality and overall feel of the device, and the titanium finish matches well with the old Leica body! Be aware though, as other reviewers state, that it isn't meant for heavy rigs.

MeFOTO Tripod
B&H had the lowest price I could find and their shipping was incredibly fast ! This tripod is a great ,captures great angles and even allows you to get lower than any other tripod in the market. I highly recommend this tripod for those who need something quick and easy to carry around. I use this tripod for cinemongraphy and its works very well thanks to its amazing build quality.

Sturdy and lightweight... and ORANGE!
I really dig the color, and it helps differentiate my tripod from others when many of them are lined up. Even though it's lightweight, holds my D750+300m lens no problem! I like the quick adjusts, and the compact size is a huge win. About the size of two vertically stacked nalgene bottles, so perfect for trekking! Such as Disneyland, camping, and snowboarding! Highly recommend!

Excellent travel tripod
This tripod is very light weight and takes up very little space when folded up, making it great for carry-ons. I love the color options that they offer and it is a very attractive design. Some people might not care about that but I find that a plus. I used the tripod with my Sony NEX-3n and it is very sturdy, even in windy conditions. Overall I highly recommended this product.

Great tripod
I use this for travel and landscapes. Is very lightweight, durable, packs down to a small size, and works quite well. I am very impressed and recommend it to any traveling photographer. The carrying case makes it even better. Great product. The only downside is that it takes longer to unfold than the typical tripod but you would expect that with anything that folds so small.

Nice design
The Backpacker Travel Tripod is a great combination of strength and weight. Looks good too. Overall build quality is excellent and for the money the ball head in particular works very well. No need for a reversible central column because inverting the legs works just fine. The smallest leg extensions are a bit thin but you can't have a super compact design with beefy legs!

Great design, solid build.
Pros The design of this tripod is fantastic. It feels solid and all the knobs are easy to turn and precise in their operation. This is a great for traveling. I was able to fit it in a small backpack without any inconveniences. Cons Does not feel as solid as other tripods when raised to its maximum height. Nevertheless this would not stop me from recommending it to anyone.

better tripod than mephotos new flismsy 'air model
First got backpack 'air' model, induced by its lighter weight, smaller foldup, and one step leg extension. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK! Center column didn't stay locked in place when extended and NO PANO CONTROL....which company website doesnt disclose. Gained a little weight with the backpack classic but feels much more stable, has pano control nob, and setup very ez.

Benro MeFoto Travel Tripod With Ballhead
Folds very small and compact- great for backpacks and hiking. Very light weight. easy to set up and fold back down. Many upsides. Only downside is despite fact it lists as able to hold 8.5 it cannot hold a long lens - for example my Tamron 200-500 mm - steady or in a stable manner- there is too much movement with this lens. With my Canon 18-200mm it is great!

Thought it was great
Loved the tripod until the third use when one of the segments locked in the down position. I don't know why. The twist lock loosens, but it now takes King Kong type effort to get the tripod extended or collapsed. It lives a pampered life inside a Pelican case, and does not appear damaged. I will try to return it, if possible. Maybe this is a rare problem..

Light, packable, & easy to use!
I love how compact and light this tripod is. I can easily throw it in a daypack or strap it on to even the smallest of DSLR bags. Given the amount of travel and hiking I do, its nice to have a tripod that I can bring along which doesn't weight me down or take up too much space. Its also incredibly easy to set-up and break down. It literally takes seconds.

Great versatile tripod, monopod
Used the monopod leg last week on the top of Pike's Peak in a howling, cold wind to take a panorama view with my Sony 4k video AX53. Folds up so small to fit in my carry-on or a back pack. The hook to weight it down at the bottom of main stem is a great idea. Haven't used it yet as a copy stand, but that is a great idea. Great value at this price!!!

Solid buy
I originally purchased the MeFoto Roadtrip, but as much as I love the quality of that product. The size and weight was larger then what I really wanted. The BackPacker is a pound lighter and 3 inches shorter compacted, but just as sturdy as long as you don't extend the top portion of the tripod. It is perfect for traveling if weight is a concern.

suprised by design & construction
...more than I expected...this is the perfect travel tripod for my lighter medium format camera (Fuji GA645zi, 2.5 lbs)...it easily fits in the aircraft overhead bag (or even under the seat)...it is so lightweight, quick to set up, designed and constructed quite well...a terrific value...and the color (I chose red) is just plain pretty...

Pretty good.
Got this tripod for my summer in Hawaii. I'm a professional photographer making a photo book series. This tripod is nice because it is light and nice for traveling. It is a bit short though and isn't as stable as I'd like it to be. I will probably keep this one for travel specifically but I wouldn't make it the tripod I use all the time.

Slightly heavier than I wanted
This is a great tripod and the perfect size for travel. It fits in my carry on suitcase with a week's worth of clothes. The design and stability are great with my Olympus EM10. My only negative is it is just a little too heavy for carrying in my backpack for very long. I just adapted my packing plans since I like the tripod so we'll.

Perfect for Long-Haul Travel
I bought this tripod for our trip to New Zealand and it does not disappoint! It's light enough to fit into either my carry-on or checked baggage. Any larger or heavier, and I probably would've rued the day I decided to lug it with me. Extremely sturdy and very well-made. I don't fear for my camera's safety when it's mounted on there.
