Excellent Ballhead
Current tripod: Manfrotto 055CXPro3. Heaviest camera/lens combination: Nikon D610 with Kirk L-bracket and Nikon 80-400 (new) with Kirk collar. I bought this ballhead wanting an Arca-Swiss-type clamp/release system but not quite ready for more expensive ventures into this arena. I am very happy with this selection. The instructions are brief but clear. It works with the Kirk accessories. The movements are smooth as can be whether panning or re-pos... Show More

Perfect Addition
Updated my Bogen monopod to handle the new gear, just like the other tripod. It came with the step down screw adapter so I did not need to order it separately. Otherwise, just as ordered.

Worth the coin
I've been looking for a good tripod for awhile and this one had everything that I wanted. Good load capacity, hook for sand bags, spikes, grips, and just overall rock solid. It had more features than comparable manfrotto legs. The bag is really nice as well. My only knock is that at over albs. it can be a bit cumbersome to lug around with other equipment. It's always best to do your research and make sure this is will work for you. I'm extremely happy with this purchase.

Why didn't I get one of these sooner
I have an older Bogen tripod & it works fine. The head has 4 different knobs to losen or tighten to make adjustments. So it takes time to set the shot. Wow, the customer rep who talked to me on the phone told me how easy it is to use a ball head & that I'm going to love how fast I can set up shots. He was right. If you are still using the reg. style head you owe it to get one to try out. If you don't like it just return it.(but I know you won't)

Heavy Duty Ball Head does the job right!
This ball head is rated for 66 lbs. I may not have equipment that weighs 66 lbs yet, but in the years to come with the traveling I plan on, I will in the future. With the weight range it covers it is surprisingly light at 1.9 lbs. The Oben-166 is sturdy! And it is a breeze to use. I highly recommend this ball head.

Go for the SLIK
I had the SLIK ball head and saw this one and wanted to try the new stuff. Not fast enough, the quickrelease is by press and not by slider like Manfrotto or SLIKNot fast enough, the tighten wheel is not as fast as the handle

Oben BA-111 Single Lever Ball Head
Really nice ball head. Not too heavy, we'll balanced. Comes with tubular bubble levels. Unfortunately one of them was empty and had to return it back to B&H for an exchange. I also called Oben customer service for replacement bubble level but they referred me back to B&H. I really appreciated B&H that they responded so quickly. My replacement Oben BA-111 should be coming back to me any day now.

Excellent Build Quality, Easy to use, ve
Excellent tripod head. I bought this to go on a monopod since I recently upgraded my primary tripod head to a Arca Swiss B1. The Arca Swiss style plates fit this Oben tripod head perfectly. It's a little big for my monopod but will be just fine and will be the head going forward when I upgrade the monopod.

Light but sturdy.
I was looking for a light weight but sturdy tripod that was rugged enough to take hiking. The Oben 2331 fit the bill. It weighs only 1.65 lbs but is sturdy enough to handle my large DSLR camera and professional level lenses. Highly recommend use of the counter weight hook on the bottom of the tripod's center column when using heavier lenses or in windy conditions. The only complaint I have is that an allen wrench tool is needed to convert the center column to take low to the ground shots. Would've received 5 stars if it was easier to convert for low level shots

Great for Traveling
The compact and lightweight nature of this tripod makes it ideal for traveling and backcountry photography. It has enough stability for most situations you will find yourself in and can be strapped onto a pack with its carrying case.

So light weight
I have been hauling around a tripod that starts out as aluminum and ends the day as cast iron and this is perfect for me. Solid quality and I am extremely happy with it.

Very solid tripod
This is a very solid, sturdy tripod. I used it in downtown Pittsburgh up on a windt bluff and hung my gear bag off the hook to steady the tripod. No visible motion was apparent in the photos. I love the carry bag and the provided strap too! THe flip locks are a bit stiff, but I'm assuming they will loosen over time. The head takes aq bit of getting used to: only one area in which you can flip the camera veritacl, though. It's a good investment at a great price.

Wonderful 3 way pan
I can find nothing negative to say about this product. It replaced the ball head that came with my Oben CT 3510 carbon tripod. It works effortlessly and is smooth as silk. The load capacity matches the legs so it pairs up perfectly. I would recommend this head to anyone who needs a compact 3-way pan/tilt head. I would buy this again. Also, the price is right for the quality of this item.

Great sturdy tripod!
I love it so far. Sturdy, long, cheap, but really heavy. It's an amazing tripod for the price!

Good tripod

Well made
I really like this ball head. It purchased it to go on a monopod. It did come with the thread adapter to do this with. It is very functional and has smooth range of motion. The quick release is easy to use and it also locks in place very well.

It's so light.
I am always on the move and doing shots in the wild or just taking it easy and doing long time exposures. no matter what it is i'm doing except for sports photography this fella is light weight and is strong enough to hold any of the gear i have.

Excellent tripod head
Much better than the slik sh705e I replaced. Very sturdy, smooth motion. Same quick release plate as my monopod head so I don't need a bunch of different qr plates.

lightwieght, solid
this ball head is light and holds the camera whereI put it without any problem.. the quick release is awkward to use. I have a Slik 700 Pro Dx tripod. I prefer a ball head to a pan and tilt head, but the Slik pan and tilt that came with the tripod had a better quick release.

Awesome ball head
This head holds my Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 200mm with no camera shake or vibration. Love this head!

Good ball head
I have used this for a few weeks now both clamped tight for long exposure shots and with slight friction to take the weight off my arm when tracking moving wildlife. It appears very well made. Both the ball and the pan axes move smoothly and have continuously adjustable friction.

Solid Ball Head
This ball head is solid and easy to adjust. So far I am very impressed by it's functionality. I recommend this ball head without reservation. The 17.6 lb capacity is more than adequate for my needs.

Not Steady Enough
I use the head to level my Gigapan EpicPro and a Nikon D800. The weight of the two components is under the specified maximum level. The head is not a steady as I would have liked and after taking a Panorama I have to readjust the setup. It is fairly easy to use; but I would chose another head for this application.

nice tripod but overkill for my needs
This is a very nice tripod but it is heavier than I realized and overkill for my 4/3rds Lumix camera. .......
